  1. The alternative tops available now are not really an alternative though. A real alternative would be shipping 50k tops a season. We are a massive support who are unwilling to buy the official merchandise, we need unofficial merchandise that we know will deliver a big get it up you to SD and also give a cash injection to the club.

People need to equate the alternative with the club, they need to know that they are contributing. Problem with the likes of Lionbrand is firstly that most fans have never heard of them and secondly many of those who have don't see how they benefit the club (that's not a criticism of them). C1872 have the resources to promote a real alternative.

I agree with you mate. Lionbrand is I believe being ran by a well meaning bear on a part time basis. He is doing the best he can with the spare time he has to work with but as you say, there is a vast market out there. One problem though - are there enough shares available to buy if 50,000 folk buy the alternative ?

  2. SNP MSP James Dornan said: “These figures show that the Offensive Behaviour Act continues to be a valuable tool in tackling sectarianism by jailing those hun zombie bastards at every turn. The only mistake made is that one or two of my sellik supporting pals have been unable to sit beside me at some games due to the masonic polis fitting them up. I've already called for an enquiry into that one."

    Mr Dornan, you're fooling nobody.

  3. The comment on the main page about a fans top is spot on. C1872 should seriously look into an alternative to the official top with profits being used to buy shares in a new share issue. Unofficial support from the club eg. Players leaving training wearing the top or ex players photographed wearing it would help promote it. You just have to look at the success of the red and black scarf and the current boycott of official merchandise to see that when we pull together we can make things happen.

Alternative unofficial tops are already available mate - red and black stripes. I agree though that players, etc should be doing more to help.

  4. I believe the shirt sponsorship deal with 32 Red ends this summer - perhaps freeing up the potential for a front (and rear?) shirt sponsor.

Doesn't that income go to SD or RR? Hard to keep track with all of the dodgy dealings under Green's watch.

If it does indeed go to SD or RR we should give the shirt sponsorship over to someone for free. Maybe a child abuse charity ?

  5. An excellent article where the main points won't see the light of day in the mainstream media and probably won't rate a mention from the grumpy arses among our support who never ever seem to see anything good in what's going on at Ibrox. Sometimes I wonder if many of them really are Rangers supporters or just like doing the mank thing and spend their time discussing all things Rangers.

  6. According to DW in his presser yesterday we're not looking to bring anyone else into the team

BJ , maybe I caught a different interview from yourself but my understanding of what was being said by DW was, we got the main targets he was after but 'may' make further signings.

  7. Paul Murray had a plan to have a rights issue for 25 million that would have paid off LLoyds and left us money over to play with.( He said that anyway.) David Murray must have thought Whyte was the better deal.

Paul Murray though was not willing to accept any liability for any monies due if we lost the EBT case. He wanted responsibility to stay with DM's companies.

That didn't suit DM or LBG so they looked around for a useful idiot who would.

The curtain opened and billionaire Whyte appeared.

  8. This is not Glasgow Rangers it is Pass it back FC. Pass it back until we are in trouble and then pass it to the opposition. :frown:

To be fair Pete, the opposition are pressing hard any time we are on the ball.

We've played better. But I'm happy so far as it's a friendly.

  9. I worked in Germany for years. One Christmas we had a night out with both German and Brit workers from our factory. Towards the end of the night a couple of the guys stood on a table, lifted beer glasses to their eyes and did the Dambusters tune. Our German shop manager took no offence and replied with a German song called London's Burning.

It's called banter but the press here don't want to look at it that way. I await the demands for passports to be confiscated.

  10. There were many other incidents in that match that were never even spoken about, if you want to highlight incidents in a match as a so called professional analyser then you must cover all incidents not just highlight one or two!.

If you look back on our matches this season alone there are many incidents that went unpunished nor highlighted by any of these ''pundits'', trial by TV should mean every incident in every match should be highlighted but we know that doesn't happen, that is the crux of the matter!.

Every single Rangers match I've seen covered on tv has ended with the pundits concentrating on whether one of our players committed a foul, dived, should have been sent off, or whether some throw in or corner should have been awarded to us. Such incidents are shown dozens of times from all angles and covered at the end of the match too. Goals take a minor place now unless it was scored by us with some perceived controversy involved.

It's now got to the completely silly and sinister stage.

Naturally all this is picked up by the fuds now posing as press reporters and is mentioned in the papers before becoming the main talking point on the sports sections of our tv news programmes.

If I was wearing green and grey hoops I'd begin to think some conspiracy was at work.

  11. My sister used to come to Holland every year a time ago. One year the police did campaign that if you signed in when you were going on holiday they would keep an extra eye open on your property. My sister signed up. That was the only year my sister ever had a break-in when she was away. I could write stories of the police all night but honesty will not be mentioned very often.

I filled in and signed up those cards [the old Strathclyde area] every time I went on holiday from the early 80's until just a few years ago Pete. Your sister may well have had somebody tell her that the police would keep an extra eye on her house but that was not what the scheme was designed for. There was a section where you left contact details of anybody else looking after your house or who would act as keyholder or be able to contact the householder who was away in any emergency. Another section was to leave details of any hazards, ie large holes around the house which may harm any cops attending. House alarms were covered in another section.

The main thrust was leaving details of somebody for the police to contact should the house get broken into, go on fire or anything else. Thankfully I was never contacted. Sympathy with your sister though mate.
