  1. Aye I remember sitting in a stadium in Villarreal going out on goal difference in the Champions League thinking, you know what, this is awful. Much better those days are behind us.

Enjoy your free Saturdays mate. Nice weather coming in as well. Jackpot

Just the negative stuff from back then is though, yeah? Of course it's relevant. He knows what it is to be a winner with Rangers. And until De Boer or someone of that calibre wants the job he's our best shot!

We are a shambles just now and we've got a Rangers man who has given Rangers fans a few of their more cherished memories willing to come back in and try help sort out our mess!

You and your search for the truth. He MADE Rangers 14 million in his time with us. Repeatedly sacked? Villa? Where are they now? He left Genk. He was sacked in Egypt for not playing the presidents preferred players while winning matches.

I've seen his winners medal cabinets (plural). Trust me, he's a manager

Prso, Boumsong, Watterus, Novo, Buffel, Boyd, Fergie, I could too. His last signing he made as a manager was Ndidi for free. Sold to Leicester for 17 million

Can I say Alex that it's a pleasure to see you posting on here. :flute:

  2. Remember guys to be Manager of our club was at one time the pinnacle for some but in my eyes it is now a poison chalice if all we base it on is stopping the manky mob getting 10 in a row.the main challenge is get us back up among the elite and make us proud again and if we stop the manky mob on the way all the better.

The position has to be attractive to would be applicants.

The problem I would see if I was an ambitious manager and was being offered the Rangers job is - am I getting money to improve the squad so I can get rid of some of the hopeless driftwood and permanently injured plasticine men currently drawing wages ?

King reckons we've spent £18 million. By that reckoning I'd be looking for another 40.

  3. The Board gave them the increased contract last summer, this incident isn't about their pay at Rangers.

They have been talking to other clubs since months after taking charge at Rangers, they've been talking to NF for a month, this didn't come out of the blue on Monday.

The Boards actions have been reactive, the Board took to long to reach a decision (albeit undoubtedly the correct one).

I know about their wage rise in the summer. What I meant and worded badly was, they were sitting waiting on what I would assume was more money from the job at Notts.

  4. Cold, cold, cold!!! As Rousseau points out. Same old same old. Wes and Hodson don't like each other by looks of it, wonder if that's why MW kept playing Tav when he is clearly hopeless at defending? Thought Wes was going to take his head off, Hill had to calm him down!

Senderos should not play again. MW has some brass neck complaining about the scrutiny of his signings policy from DK! Waggy, Barrie and again Miller played well and as usual Hyndman was composed and a cut above the rest.

Looks like it will be Mcleish, hope he sorts things out!!

I agree with most of what you've put there. But there's more than Senderos who should never play again Coop.

Agreed too - it was fecking freezing.

  5. Nobody comes out of this looking clever, the Board shouldn't have let it reach the stage it did and the 9pm website statement was not the way to release the news.

As for the Three Amigos que, sera, sera.

The board hunted a shower of self serving useless wasters who were sitting waiting on an increased wage packet offer.

That's all that will be remembered in a couple of years.

  6. Have a look on the newsnowrangers site.

Every fecking diddy or Rangers hater are having their say.

Sutton, Hartson, Butcher, they're all their with updates every 30 minutes.

Guys, remember this in a few weeks time when some rumour from the Record or other piece of toilet paper are telling you what's going on.

  7. the y did a good week on youth football recently. Pitches available, Stuff like that . grilled scottish minister of sport or whatever she's called.........4 priests is a hoot......with a small budget they put Radio Scotland to shame

Clyde are even worse than BBC Scotland mate.

It's like the early 80's days of amateur radio where any halfwit can call in. subject to the shows producer and say whatever they want.

Useful idiots like Johnstone allow them to get away with it.

  8. If we do go with McLeish then the board have completely lost the plot and are not the correct people to be taking us forward. Having McLeish at the helm is every bit as damaging as any lopsided retail deal, if not more so.

I honestly can't believe we are considering this., It's insane.

I said this earlier, there are too many problems bringing Eck back.

Walter would be seen by the majority of the fans as a safe pair of hands until seasons end.

The fans would be willing with Walter to wait and see what the close season brings.

Eck looks like a , well if he gets us to second let's give him the job, appointment.

  9. Will take some time to have a look through the statement in depth but it's fair to say the last few days have been farcical and I don't think anyone comes out of this with any great deal of credit. It's difficult to blame the board for their ultimate decision but the way it's been handled is shambolic.

Suffice to say the board are under huge pressure now. The squad could do them a favour tomorrow and it will be interesting to see how they react if they'd supposedly stopped playing for the manager.

The board have done nothing wrong mate.

    Forget the timeline.

Warburton no longer wanted to be paid to manage our club.

    All the rest is shyte.

    The board done good.

  10. So Warburton was working on Friday, not knowing that his employment had been terminated with "immediate effect" on Wednesday.

Mate, there are press reports saying that Warburton had been ordered to take training this morning.

Believe a fraction of what you're reading is my polite advice.

  11. I think the diffetences are palpable. Domestically and in europe.

    Dont you?

You were admiring Rodgers. The point I'm making is, his record before he arrived at in Glasgow wouldn't have filled me with confidence if he ended up at our club.

At Liverpool he inherited a decent squad, spent nearly 300 million and made it worse.

Delilah, no Shankley, won the domestic league. Rodgers will do the same. But that's about all.

  12. I admire either your optimism or your youthfulness. I'm closing in on 60 and see no realistic ambitions of harbouring those again.

I'm older than you mate. The question though was about Rodgers - do you think he'd do well in Europe with our squad ?

Could you go unbeaten all season domestically. All the way to feb at least.

Given the rubbish the opposition put in front of Rodgers, most certainly.

But my point wasn't about domestic football.

Delilah won the domestic league too. Are you saying he was a good manager ?

  13. I may be a relative newbie here but determined quite a few months ago that there are some on this forum who have no time whatsoever for members of our board.

Events such as the past 24 hours have brought them out into the fore once again.

Warburton and his pals wanted to leave. They were given permission to go without financial penalty to anyone.

Rangers best interests have been served and anybody saying anything different is working to a separate agenda.

Sorry guys but that's how I read it.

  14. Not really likely since Gers agreed to compensation fee being dropped.

Perhaps compensation fee(having been dropped)was then asked to be a signing on fee and they were having none of it.(just a thought)

I suspect, much like the board say in their statement, that during a board meeting it was decided to simply accept the resignations and let them move out for free as things just weren't working out . I'd also consider the board knew Warburton & Co hadn't got the NF gig anyhow so there was no compensation to be had.

  15. Maybe.

But at least his heart is in the right place. FWIW I think Miller would be a good Rangers coach. I just think his best playing days are well behind him now.

Any new Rangers could do a lot worse than Miller as his assistant

Sorry Rab, but Miller being a contender among a shower of under-achievers with a horrendous return of goals per appearance, to say absolutely nothing about his total lack of experience as a coach, assistant coach, youth coach, or anything else, is not where I see Rangers future.

Kenny, you were paid very well for what you did while with us - your heart is in Edinburgh. I may bump into you one day through there on a visit.

I wish you well but don't want you anywhere near Ibrox mate.

  16. I confidently predict it'll be Eck to the summer, then McInnes.

I should add I'm mostly wrong about this sort of thing

My own thoughts were towards Walter, Oleg.

He's a safe pair of hands the board could sell to the fans.

Eck was not without his doubters while he was still with us and would imo do nothing to sell season tickets.

I'd confidently expect an announcement on who will be in charge for next season quite soon.

  17. Tbh...if Sir Walter came back AGAIN I would like that, if McLeish came back AGAIN I'd like that also. McInnes and Davies just doesn't do it for me, De Boer is the same, he only spent a couple of years in Scotland.

De Boer is another imo who'd jump ship the first time an offer came in for him.

  18. The Board should immediately have got a spokesman on to the media to confirm/deny all the speculation IMO.

Rangers released a statement on the clubs site Mac. It explained everything to me. Including who will be in charge v Morton.

If we'd held a press conference from 9pm tonight until tomorrow afternoon with every member of the board there to answer every question the usual suspects in the media would still be speculating.

    Feck them !

  19. They didn't come out with it because they are like rabbits in the headlights, they haven't a clue what to do next , some of the names being quoted are horrendous

But the names aren't being quoted by the board mate. :P

Warburton and Co caused this and I'd rather the board took their time to get the right man in.
