  1. There seems to be a helluva lot of guesswork going on in the media right now. Some papers saying Murty will be in charge and others saying we'll have a new manager in time. Vlad The Impaler would have difficulty getting more effort from the guys in our squad so unless a new manager is bringing a dozen new players it will make no difference who's in charge imo.
  2. Roger was at Birmingham when a guy we don't hear much of these days and a great bear, Jimmy Calderwood was progressing from youth to first team football.
  3. DJ was moved to that position at his own request. His main failing was that evenings spent in the bar at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew were catching up with him. He was a great centre half. But imo, rid of the Kris Boyd malaise could have turned out to be one of the greatest centre forwards we ever had.
  4. Mac, I saw big Derek pull off exactly the move you described at Ibrox against Ajax . Was it called the super-cup or similar ? I very much doubt that Roger, steady centre half that he was would have chased one of his own punts. He was far too disciplined to do that.
  5. My dad moved heaven and earth to ensure that him, me, my granda, my grandas pal and that guys son could all go to the final. I was only 11 at the time. We'd been to the Berwick game too. In my mind there is no doubt that Rangers would have won the ECWC that year had Berwick not happened. Jim Forrest was the most clinical finisher I ever saw and given how the ECWC match went Jim would have got at least two.
  6. Roger "scored" in the ECWC final, only for the goal to be chalked off.
  7. Are you not thinking of DJ against Ajax Mac ?

  9. I was agreeing with you, that's all.
  10. Mega is a sellik fan. It's no surprise he wants to bring us into the enquiries. https://themanthebheastscanttame.wordpress.com/2017/02/10/the-alleged-celtic-sex-abuse-case-tommy-burns-in-hell-part-one/ As pointed out in the article, go to a school to teach kids about journalism and put on your sellik tap.
  11. double post. sorry.
  12. Marcello Mega , who previously stated that Gordon Brown is a paedophile and claims every single thing wrong in this world is the result of an orange, freemason, martian conspiracy. Forget it mate. It's John James using another name. File under shyte.
  13. I'll go further - take a look at the money spent and the league table. Are they good enough ? Remember, we're not allowed to look at the past so last season or maybe last week doesn't count.
  14. I've seen dozens of absolute tubes who should never have found their way to Scotland never mind to Ibrox. Some of them didn't even merit junior level. Stop fixating on what they've been assessed at and begin questioning whether they are actually what we used to rate as Rangers class. Think back to the absolute dumplings Ally worked with - granted, most he brought in himself. Then taking things to the airy fairy tale world of somebody like RDB coming in and being honest - would guys like Halliday, Kiernan or several others ever, for the rest of their careers, get a game wearing a Rangers jersey ? I'll go back to what I said earlier GS, just because that's all we can afford, does that make them good enough ?
  15. Agreed mate. Yet some wanted Lafferty back. Another fanny embarrassment.
  16. No problem Andy.
  17. I know for a fact that what you said there BH is true. I suspect that there is some mis-communication somewhere.
  18. I'd agree LB that is what was being proposed. The point I would make though is, how far back into the "past" are we permitted to go ? On this thread others have alluded to Halliday playing well in a past game and Miller having helped win the league in the past.
  19. There is no excuse for behaviour like this - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/watch-rangers-flop-joey-barton-9844626
  20. Instead of coming on every so often to make snide remarks to other posters, why not wake yourself up and read what folk are saying ? Post 23 - " He is hopeless in defence and shows nothing going forward. He doesn't inspire anyone around him and invariably if they are playing poorly he'll hit their level quickly. "
  21. Paramilitaries are looking to kill him and the polis left a note with his neighbour.
  22. Meanwhile the mental health of the fool James continues to deteriorate - " I realise that most of my diligent readers apprise themselves of the excellent contributions of my commentators and will be aware of the reasons for my absence from our site yesterday. A neighbour had called me to advise that Police Scotland were urgently trying to reach me. They left a letter behind that their intelligence unit had picked up on a credible threat to my life. According to a detective sergeant, the conspirators are based in the Stranraer area. Some were active members of the UVF and UDA. A couple of them had served time for murder. They were believed to have access to weapons. I was advised to stay with a family member or friend during my visit to my home town. I was in exile on my own Main Street. The price of running this site is now measured in my blood. I put my apartment on the market and demurred from cancelling my home insurance as they might raze it to the ground. My furniture is now in storage. It’s a shocking state of affairs. They evidently cannot handle the truth."
  23. Guys , when there is serious debate here about handing a contract extension to Kenny Miller you might start to understand where I'm coming from. Imo Miller at his best was never Rangers class. The level our squad are playing at today seems to see Miller, much like Halliday as some sort of example deserving reward. They aren't. Neither of them ,comparing them to Rangers players I've seen in the past are good enough. Being the best of a bad bunch does not make you good enough. If I'm honest there isn't a single player at Ibrox who should be kept. The only reason they will be is because we can't afford to replace them.
  24. I didn't see him as one of our best performers last season Craig. The guy is a bomb-scare with very little talent. He is hopeless in defence and shows nothing going forward. He doesn't inspire anyone around him and invariably if they are playing poorly he'll hit their level quickly. Maybe I'm just used to seeing guys wearing our jerseys who can actually play football.
  25. Wounded Knee, damaged ligament, skint elbow and fractured eyelash which have conspired to decimate our squad. We really should stop signing guys made out of glass.
