  1. I wouldn't disagree, but that isn't an argument for independence.

My point about independence comes from where I put money in with the hope that shares will be bought so that the support can have more say on how the club is run. I can recall back in the 60's my dad and his friends moaning about how despite crowds of 60/80,000 fans regularly we had no say on "what that bassa Marlborough does".

It didn't get any better in the years since then and the current lot in the boardroom have taken us back to the days before Whyte. At least the conman Green appeared every so often in the media, even if only to sell more snake-oil. The mob we now have continue to allow the usual suspects to peddle their garbage while expecting the fans to dig deep. What was the last meaningful thing any of our board had to say to us ?

Mate, more and more Rangers fans are becoming depressed at what's happening with the clubs board. The attitude of mates on a weekly basis tells me that. I'd say the window of opportunity for our present set of blazers is fast closing and they will only have themselves to blame.

  2. Lowest crowd since 1902Scotland could play in front of their lowest home crowd since 1902 tonight. It is understood fewer than 6,000 tickets have been sold for the friendly with Canada at Easter Road. Scotland played before 5,284 when they faced Wales in March 1902. (The Scotsman)

It shows how the clowns at the SFA work - They arrange a nothing friendly. They move the game to Edinburgh. The manager tells the media he's fielding his reserve team.

    And the game's on telly.

    What a shower of zoomers.

  3. I've always thought Strachan dug himself into a hole when he recalled Brown for the England game at Wembley. It backfired & Brown was virtually anonymous.

This latest nonsense does him no favours either. He looks like a manager clinging on to his job. He'll be gone soon & the SFA blazers will be back to square one yet again

I'd be happy if Brown remained anonymous rather than plain and simply garbage.

A couple of years ago he was getting games for Scotland while every fan at the Methodome wanted him chased.

  4. Not sure you could claim to be independent if your office space is being provided for free - the cloud of having those facilities pulled from you by the landlord (the club) could give rise to a lack of independence, or at least the suggestion of it.

If the club even threatened to remove facilities from C1872 I would think that thousands of fans who thought like myself would ensure that the club were the losers in such a scenario.

As I've always said, I'll support them, but don't take me for a fecking mug.

  5. Cummings's behaviour after the Cup Final whistle alone should stop him ever wearing our shirt. iIwish him all the ill in the world. He's got a soul mate as manager just now and that's where he should stay.

I pushed the "agree" button mate.

Then I thought back to the scumbag MoJo blessing himself while deservedly being sent off against us. I never hated any player than I did that man that day.

It goes to show, you never can tell.

  6. The entire C1872 board have to stand for re-election every year, right? Then nobody should be resigning due to any other board members conduct.

If it is so bad, then he wouldn't be re-elected again. It is up to the membership to decide whether he is out of order or not. Who proposed/seconded these board members when they ran for election anyway?

This sort of petty politics reminds me a bit of the trade union movement - instead of standing together for the members' interests, committee members instead soon end up going in the huff with each other and throwing their toys out of the pram. Ultimately this sort of thing just leads to reduced membership and less influence.

I cancelled my C1872 subscription due to the fact the club completely ignored their demand to cut the away allocation at the celtic match. They have zero influence, couldn't even be bothered to respond to my tweets, and didn't have an AGM this year. But hey, they are quite good at organising dinner parties and raffling tickets for the directors box.. they seem to think we are all desperate to get a seat in there, for some reason..

The sellik allocation is a minefield mate. Under the football rules they must receive a certain amount of tickets. Then the police rules come into play. Finding somewhere to put them that would not leave us open to expected accusations won't be easy.

Let's not kid ourselves that some feckwit wouldn't ruin things if we gave them the Broomloan Front.

  7. Can I just confirm' date=' unequivocally, in response to some rumours which have surfaced - none of the directors who resigned have applied for the SLO post, or any other post for that matter currently advertised by Rangers.[/quote']

Nor should anyone who truly believes in the aims of C1872.

If anyone wants to work with Rangers they should [be made to] resign their office with the supporters group.

I want our group to support the club but want a clear line between what we do and how the club work.

  8. Derby must be kicking themselves. Forest are still deep in the relegation battle and I would have a wry smile on my face if they drop. Same for Blackburn though.

I saw Rangers got a lengthy mention at the LibDem conference this morning.

Their leader, a Blackburn supporter, told a story about a conversation with a Scots Rangers supporter who lives in Yorkshire. He mentioned Souness, Barry Ferguson, etc as being common to both clubs - also that both teams were now rubbish. They got onto Europe and the bear was asked about sellik in Europe. The bear said they are crap. The politician said that was because they had no opposition in Scotland.

Not a very good story. But it makes a change to switch on tv and not see lies being told about us.

  9. Even if they are on a lower wage, Rangers can show clear intent to move to NF while in the employment of RFC.

Their agent was meeting with Rangers reps. They'd been given improved contracts not long before so what was he doing ?

A blind man could see they were moving out the second the Notts job was offered.

  10. It's all very sad. The tiny silver lining on this cloud is that I was recently disappointed to find out that my standing order to the RST did not go into 1872. I had presumed that post 1872 being created - and indeed read from a poster somewhere - that the reason the RST was still taking money was that it was transferred into 1872 funds.

It seems this is not the case and that the continuing deductions that are going to the RST are being used to 'tie up the loose ends there' and pay admin costs. It's only a tenner so I'm not overly bothered, and if the RST need it then that's fine, and now I am less disappointed that it is not going to 1872 than I was a couple of days ago.

It would be nice to be able to give money to the club in a straightforward manner, however.

I'm not so sure about that Steve. I'm almost certain that despite the unfounded accusations of the usual suspects, all RST monies are being transferred to 1872.

  11. A big problem for Caixinha now is what to do about Hyndmann & Toral.

There's no no doubt they've improved us considerably since they arrived & we now need to look to signing them both permanently if possible. Hyndmann will involve a transfer fee but Toral is out of contract at the end of the season I believe.

Can the Rangers board provide the funds ?

The Gunners fans point out some confusion about Torals position --

  12. Were the side letters mentioned in court? I never watched it all but I never heard them mentioned any time I listened. HMRC are just determined to get it through that the benefits were earnings so as they can go after other clubs who don't have side letters. This is not only about Rangers it is setting a precedent to go after the rest. There will be a lot of people praying Rangers win.

The whole of HMRC's case rests on whether the benefits should be treated as earnings. Our side spent 2 days saying they shouldn't and continually made reference to the FTT who said they were not.

  13. A POSSIL man sang songs which made reference to the IRA and wished the death of ex-Rangers player Nacho Novo in a city centre police station, a court has heard.

Michael Daniel Boden, 21, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after kicking off on October 15, 2016.

The court heard that cops were dealing with another incident in Saracen Street when Boden acted in an aggressive manner towards them. He admitted that he shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence to the police officers. He said: “Yous are a f****** disgrace. F****** pigs. I’ll get you next time c****.”

Police officers left and when they returned, he kicked off again. He was arrested and at Stewart Street police station, he admitted he struggled violently with two officers.

He also plead guilty to uttering comments of a homophobic and sectarian nature.

The court heard a spit hood was applied as Boden repeatedly spat, which hit a female custody officer in the face.

Boden, of Glendarvel Gardens, also sang songs which made reference to the IRA and wished the death of the ex-Rangers star Nacho Novo.

Boden’s defence agent said her client’s difficulties arose from the area he grew up in which has frequent disorder. He will complete 200 hours of unpaid work and supervision for a year.

So that's breach of the peace, threats, sectarian breach of the peace, homophobic breach of the peace, resisting arrest and police assault and he gets community service ?

WTF is going on ?

  14. This buffoon has a rather active imagination. He would be better employed writing romantic trash for Mills and Boon, which would be more lucrative, and less embarrassing, than exposing his pitiable fantasies and plaintive begging to public scorn on a daily basis.

The only thing missing from that fairy tale is a couple of blind orphan kids and somebody on crutches. :laugh2:

The paranoia continues though - " Someone who has not been wasting his time is the anonymous Rangers Tax Case blogger. Following on from his much deserved award of the Orwell Prize, he has been offered, and accepted, an Orwell Prize Fellowship. My congratulations are sincere and heartfelt. However one should never lose sight of the fact that he had to remain anonymous in what passes for a civilised society in Scotland. A society where a sect with the social mores of the late 17th Century openly express their antipathy to Irish Catholic Scots with impunity. They blatantly celebrate ‘being up to their knees in fenian blood’ and sing the proscribed ‘Famine Song’. The majority of Police Scotland sing along with them in the police clubs and their Orange and Masonic lodges.

Make no mistake about it. The insidious influence of Freemasonry is so widespread in Police Scotland that it is effectively run by Grand Masters. They look after their own. "

He must watch coverage of different masonic meetings than those I attend. TBB at a lodge meeting ? Our past two masters would just love that one. :awesome:

  15. The various lawyers are probably making a fortune from this case. But it's nice to see that professional beggar and full-time fool JJ is only being paid what he's worth --

" As regular readers will note, I’m my own harshest critic. Keyboard warriors line up every day to have a kick at me, but they’re wasting their time. Others conspire to maim and kill me, and despite being known to Police Scotland, I am the one who was given four hours notice to quit possession of my home. In doing so I spared my neighbours from the clear and present danger of petrol being poured through my letter box and ignited as I slept. The smoke inhalation would have probably killed me but I would still have had a chance of surviving by jumping out my window and doing my best to cushion a 50 feet fall by using the training I was given prior to engaging in a parachute jump to raise money for The Macmillan Trust. My elderly widowed neighbours would not have fared so well.

My coverage of the Supreme Court hearing has been savaged. Despite 56,960 hits yesterday, following on from just short of 50,000 on Day One, the criticism has come thick and fast. If donations are any guide, one of £5, one for £4 and one for £1, and one failed recurring payment, my coverage was very poorly received. I often ask myself if I’m wasting my time. " :roflmao:

I note that later in his blog he says he stopped watching proceedings via the link on the second day - yeh, I'll bet you did pal. Probably around the time Mr Dunlop was on his feet dismantling HMRC 's case piece by piece. :flipa:

  16. And the guy who said things weren't going too well was likely to be a yahoo ??

No idea mate. But I followed every second of the case in court and thought we did well. Then, I'm just a common 5-8 who has deep suspicions of the politics at play when we have governments determined to look for an excuse to raid English football where the real money is.
