I've faced miles of walking to turn up at Ibrox only to find the match called off because of fog a couple of times. Another trip through to Paisley - the game went ahead but again due to fog we couldn't see what was going on at the other end of the pitch. I think it ended up 0-0 or 1-1 too.

Firhill holds many fond memories for me - New Years Day games a couple of times. A match where the linesman brought a player to the refs attention which resulted in a sending off. Right after that a pie hit the linesmans head. Also, I'd a mate who was a Thistle supporter. We'd have 6 or 8 pints in the Bier Cellar in Union St, grab a half bottle of Four Crown and head up to Firhill. I treated it more as a bevvy session than going to a football match. My grandad causing a fight there one game by standing on somebodys foot. Etc, etc. A lot of memories.

The contract between Whyte and Murray is available online. As well as the money details there was also a clause stipulating that ownership of the club would revert to Murray if Whyte didn't follow what had been agreed between them. But we all know that Murray simply wasn't interested in being left with the parcel when it finally exploded.

I've family business to attend to so will be making my way from Victoria Road. A mate will use my match ticket. Dare say one of you guys will update me on what happened at the game.

The Pre-Summer-2017 transfer rumours and hearsay all inclusive Thread
boabie replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
The information I had was the players were firstly asked if they would wait for their pay while things were sorted out, then asked to accept less money and then told it could be 2 months before even their pay cuts would be paid. There was no question but that anybody with value would be sold at the first opportunity to allow funding to pay whoever was left and keep the lights on. All of this at the same time as they were being told second-hand by Green that they belonged to him and would be dragged through the courts if they refused to TUPE. That is why initially the football players union got involved. The players who left had not signed up with Green so did not get paid anything from the second he took control of the club. I don't know about anybody else here, but I wouldn't have accepted that. -

We've had a history of over-paying players. Ffs, we paid Klos just about the same as Beckham and Ronaldo were earning. In fact in straight money from club to player, more. -

I haven't seen anything of Naismith at Norwich but I commented on one of the last, maybe the last Scotland match that he was the only player who looked remotely interested and showed any talent. -
Merlot and Shiraz are my favourite wines so Merlot for me. I'll probably be thirsty so please ask them to ensure they're stocked up BH. Thanks.

The Pre-Summer-2017 transfer rumours and hearsay all inclusive Thread
boabie replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm posting with a certain amount of knowledge about what was going on inside Ibrox at the time and have to say straight off that I don't blame any player who refused to TUPE over to Green. Green had left the players wondering what was going on. They had no idea whether they had a job or what wages they'd be on. That's why the players union got involved in the first place. Then big hauns comes out in the press saying the squad were his slaves and wouldn't be going anywhere - he still hadn't exchanged a word with the players when he did that. He was too busy scuttling about looking for somebody with money to lend him some to make the first months wages. Yes it's unfortunate that Naismith and Whittaker said at their conference about a new club but I don't think they understood how that phrase would come to be taken. I have no problem with "new club", after all it was a revolution and we were starting over. I do however have a problem when it's being taken literally and folk start talking about wiping out our history. In my opinion Naismith is a terrific player and I'd welcome him back. I can see how others may take an opposite view though. -
Mate I've been following every tweet from the court case and have yet to see Findlay dismantling anything at all in the prosecutions evidence. Findlay is doing what he always does, which is surrounding the case with garbage . "Was Murray innocent ? Were the board neutered ? What were the banks objectives ? But absolutely nothing about Whytes behaviour. As was said already in evidence - Murray and the bank didn't care where the money came from - that is not what the trial is about.
-
There was no "error" on Murrays part Gaffer. From the paper bag of cash paid to Marlborough until the day he left leaving us in ruins, Murray didn't put one brown cent of his own cash into Rangers. Money from companies he was involved with, yes. But not his own money. Are folk forgetting the assets he syphoned off, the wage he paid himself, his own EBT ? But you are correct - there's no way he'd show his face at Ibrox again. Too many bears remember what some seem to be, possibly deliberately, forgetting. Imo, he was worse than Whyte. Murray is totally responsible for Whyte.

Warburton will be lucky if he still has a job come the close season.
-
Sorry mate but I've just seen this thread, this is as far as I've reached so far, and in my opinion there is nothing else printable that I would use to describe that maggot. I'll read the rest of this to see if anyone else has put the facts down about how Murray sooked money out of Rangers for years. If they haven't, I will.
-
Never mind Ashley - I'll raise you David Murray.

We've had players make exactly the same kind of challenge and face week-long campaigns questioning the honesty of the referee for not sending our man off. We've also had players booked or red carded for less. Fwiw, I thought it was a good tackle. Unfortunately I gave up football many years ago and you can't get away with that these days............. or so we're told.
-
That fits in with what I was told. Thanks mate.
-
I wouldn't think so. The word from a couple of bears I know is Jackson got barred from Ibrox last week for his guff.

Here is what was actually said and reported - " Dave King has revealed he is ready to spearhead a £50million plan to rebuild Rangers with at least £30m of his own money. The South Africa-based businessman believes it could take that sum spread over the next four years to make the Ibrox club genuine competitors to Celtic at the top of the Scottish game once more. I'm the last person to put up anything anybody could consider "inside information", even if nowadays I still had access to any. Our club has been damaged enough by speculation, rumour, downright lies, or scraps passed on by blabbermouths. It's just a pity that some bears on other forums don't do the same. Dave King is fast becoming toxic, bluenose that he may well be. The campaign pointing out his faults has already reached the SFA - and we all know who's in charge of football in this country. In my opinion it's only a matter of time before "integrity" becomes the buzzword again. The vital point will be whether the rest of the board can find the funding to pay Dave as I don't for one second believe he'll walk away again leaving his wallet behind. Again, in my opinion and based solely on my interpretation of what seems to be going on behind the scenes, either King or others may well move on soon. I'll be very happy if they all remain. But I don't see that happening.

Which "promises are being broken" mate ?
-
I'd take what is posted over there with a pinch of salt. They're as bad as Ill Phil when it comes to folk in the know handing out inside information. The internet is full of Rangers experts who couldn't tell you what city we play football in. Due to ongoing and threatened court cases, litigation and whatever else, stand on me buddy - nobody, and that includes the Rangers board, knows what the budget or even what the board will consist of when we reach the close season. File under nonsense.
