  1. The writer should have written it in his own name and not as a representative of a Rangers supporters group. When the Rangers fans were attacked was time for the RST to speak up. Did They? I am not a member of the RST so have no say on what they do but I don't see that this is their business to be honest.

I'm a long standing member of the RST Pete. But you won't find me defending many of their actions. The time to be pro-active was many years ago when the attacks on our club and support started.

  2. I am not sure why the RST are getting involved to be honest. It is a political matter and nothing to do with Rangers.

Sorry Pete but the SNP are the party who following on from legislation introduced by the Labour party brought in laws which could easily see any Rangers fan arrested and jailed over a wooly act who's definition has never been explained to us. "Anybody" being "offended" or any police officer determining that "anybody" may be "offended" by any song, chant or act, not to mention online posting could see an arrest or door kicked in at 5 am. The fact those MSP's see fit to walk into a bar widely known to have patrons who not only sing the praises of terrorists but actively support them should be a worry to every citizen of this country.

Finally, if not the RST, who else ?

  3. That goal against Aberdeen was something special, will never forget it. Davie Cooper, now that is the epitome of a true Rangers legend.

Leighton had the cheek to say to Coop, "You know I almost caught that one"

Coop said, "Aye, on the way out." :rfcbouncy:

  4. It is a complex case with many ups and downs to come, just hope the main two get what's coming to them.

I meet socially with one of the guys who has been investigating and working on this case. While not giving away any secrets to me or anyone else it's fair to say they have every confidence that this one is wrapped up tightly. <snip>

  5.

As predicted , the whole thing is starting to come apart at the seams. Even before the vote there were sideshows and cliques forming. Unless the folk contributing are told exactly what is happening and minutes published promptly this will go the same way as other schemes in the past - money will stop going in. I'm certainly giving it more than a thought right now. Sad to say.

  6. What concerns me about this is the original proposal being priced at £1.2M then brought down to £440K. If this is to go ahead then I would have rather the RFFF had issued this to the contributors to the fund to seek approval, then give various proposals. If the desired option was one that cost more - then look at ways to cover the shortfall such as further fundraising or sponsorship.

I would hate this to become a project that was designed and built to minimise costs just for the sake of being seen to be doing something that, from what it appears, isn't a real requirement. If the more expensive option would be nicer to look at and would meet a greater number of requirements for such a project - then I don't feel comfortable with the decisions being made over the areas to cut back being made without involving the support / contributors.

The main problem is, I doubt there is any way to contact those who contributed .

  7. Imo his main asset is his ability with his feet. Defenders can feel more comfortable when they have the out of a keeper to pass to. Thinking of Klos proves that one for me. I'll agree, Wes had a good game yesterday.

  8. Used to go to reserve league games too, remember Andy Penman making his debut on day Foinavon won Grand National, but have never been at any development games as they don't inspire me.

I remember thinking it was great at being able to get into the enclosure because it was cheaper than it was for first team games.

Have no ideas or preferences on use of money but good luck in the decision.

I was in my dads car with the rest of my family heading to the Elliot Junction caravan site in Arbroath for a holiday that day. We heard the grand national result on the car radio.

I must admit, reserve matches weren't my bag.

  9. Can't recall myself but sure I seen it a few times in pre substitution rules.

As a wee extra to the post does anyone think rules should be changed to allow three substitutes as now and that the keeper be replaced at any time if injured over and above the three?.

I remember big Davie Provan going in goal, Davie Wilson moving to left back and Billy Ritchie going to outside left in a match against the skidmarks.

Also the England v Scotland match at Wembley in 1965 where England more or less ended the match with 9 men due to injuries.

  10. Incidentally, I have 11 pages of notes from the meeting which I will try to type up and post in instalments over the next few days.

    .

It was before I joined here BH and excuse me if I'm addressing the wrong man, but did posting minutes of a meeting not previously cause both discord amongst the support online and bother to your good self mate ?

  11. "MARK WARBURTON has admitted Martyn Waghorn's season could be over as he called for plastic pitches to be BANNED in the top flight.

The Rangers boss spoke out after his star striker picked up an injury at Kilmarnock that will rock the Gers’ glory bids.

Twenty-eight goal Waghorn went off immediately after winning and scoring a fourth-minute penalty before the Championship leaders went on to win 2-1 in their William Hill Scottish Cup fifth-round replay on Tuesday.

And Warburton said: "He is seeing a specialist today in London to get a more detailed report.

"There is no surgery required which is most pleasing. Hopefully he will be back for the end of the season, but there is a possibility he won't, it depends how his recovery progresses."

  12. This has been debated about a dozen times over on FF as well. The first time I heard it was on an old Rangers Songs cassette, ere I heard it from the crowds in the mid 1990s.

There was a version out in the early 60's which had the crowd cheering our goals our goals against Dundee in the cup final in the background when the line "A goal a goal" was sang..

  13. I don't understand why we let them turn things around. In the 60's\70's they were the original Huns because of the Irish ties with Germany during the war. I have always said we should take Walk on away from them.

I was on a 3 day holiday break away and found myself amongst a lively although slightly dim bunch of girls, one of whom continualy pushed the point that she was a clattie from Motherwell. My lesson from history that we Rangers fans made a habit of singing "Go home ya huns" as the sellik fans streamed out of the ground time after time didn't settle too well with that young girl.

  14.

More importantly, they sing loudest in the same ditty, 'we don't care what the animals say'?

    Who are the animals?

To be fair 26th, we sang it first - again. I recall it being belted out in the late 60's from our end. That was the way we looked at them then. Tramps and animals.
