  1. Aye, the club have a get out of jail free card and they've not played it? Do you also believe in Santa, Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy?
  2. No, you've misunderstood. I was complaining about the lack of contingencies. That is a negative consequences of the overall process. Let me be clear - if delays in building projects are common, then not having contingencies make it worse for the board. Contingencies like having a plan B in place wel before the steel being delayed. Or having the steel ordered and stored before the project commenced. Simple and basic project management and project planning.
  3. But I didn't, I never mentioned the negative consequences of the late announcement of Hampden. I mentioned the overall negative consequences of the move there. Plus the overall negative consequences of the project overrunning. Completely different.
  4. But in that section of my post I never mentioned negative consequences. Yourself and Scott both said that delays were well known in building projects, so why didn't we agree contingencies when the project commenced?
  5. But I was talking bout the overall negative consequences of using Hampden. The late noticed caused negative consequences for those who travel distances (Ulster Bears in particular). Personally, my Dad and another 5 members of our bus never went to Hampden due to mobility issues. But those issues would have been same no matter when it was announced
  6. I know that - but thanks for pointing it out 👍
  7. Not being able to play our games at home - or do you think it helped us? Loss of income from poor crowds at Hampden - do toy think that's helped us? Adverse consequences for fans who travel to games especially from Ulster. Looked terrible, adverse publicity..... I'm sorry, but if I'm having to explain the negative consequences then the conversation is finished.
  8. True, but half the CR is closed, the CCCS is activated and its our 1st game back this season. I expected it to be be busy tomorrow buy hopefully the remaining tickets are sold between now and kick-off.
  9. As yet, it's not clear if we or the contractors ordered the steel. "Locally" sourced stell would have been more expensive but easier to control delivery. Thinking out the box, why didn't we order the stell in advance and store it locally? Again, a small cost for storage but the stell would have been on-hand. Hampden may have been the only solution, so why wasn't it agreed way before it was? Why did we wait so long given the reality was that industry standards suggest all projects over run? The board have no defence for this project overrunning and the consequences of it overrunning.
  10. So we do nothing and let them run us into the ground? Are you saying they are not removable no matter how bad things get?
  11. The only way to force the board into action is to stop going to games and stop funding them. Its the only "tool" we have. Going by lack of ticket sales for tomorrow, it may have already started 😀
  12. Then there should have been contingencies in place. The project had a short-time scale to be completed in. It was a known timescale and the board continually assured fans that it was on track (when it clearly wasn't) and were continuing to say so up to hours before having to come clean. Before the project started (in earnest) we should have known that if it slipped then we'd be playing 'x' number of games at a stadium and had that all arranged - we didn't. If it is such industry knowledge that these projects slip, the board's lack of contingencies reflects even worse on them.
  13. When signed in 2020, the 5 year deal was reported to be worth £20M - link below to a non-UK publication as some will quesrion the validity of a UK report (who all basicaly reported it being worth £20M) https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/rangers-castore-kit-deal-scottish-premiership/
  14. Organisations like Club1872 and RST are good in principle and I've been a member of both. However they just don't seem to work for our fanbade which probably says more about us fans than it does these organisations. I thought being shafted by Scottish football would have been what toughened us up and united us with the board/ club but sadly I was mistaken. The board have continued the "dignified silence" approach which has led us to be even further adrift from setting the footballing landscape and message in Scotland. For me, this feels the exact same as it did under Murray. The big difference was we were being successful so I can understand why some fans didn't see the catastrophe galloping over the horizon. Today, we aren't successful and yet the fans still don't see the catastrophe galloping over the horizon. That's the only outcome in my humble opinion if we allow this board to continue, unless they dramatically change.
  15. I wonder when we'll decide the right time to panic / revolt / remove the board? Will it be after 1 title in 14 years? 1 in 15? 1 in 20? It appears us fans have only two plans at the moment ; Plan A - hope this board somehow turns us around despite gross mismanagement up to this point. Plan B - hope that Celtic fall apart. Neither plan seems feasible to me.
  16. What consequences? Is he going to come after me? Doubt he reads Gersnet or Follow Follow or any of the fan media sites that reported he had turned us down. Again you've body swerved the real concern of the point being discussed. I'm out of this discussion as it always degenerates to you asking questions and not answering questions. You believe what you want to believe about this and the other points I raised, I'll continue to believe what I believe.
  17. As much as you have that he didn't knock us back. Believe what you will and in the grand scheme of things, its not that important. The important part of my post was that we still don't have a CEO which is just one of a few crucial roles within the club that are unfilled or being done on a temporary basis.
  18. So given the reintroduction of the CCCS, our 1st game back at Ibrox, reduced capacity, surprised to see still so many tickets still on sale for tomorrow's game.
  19. Would hope the team is along these lines for our return to Ibrox.
  20. Exactly how I recall it as well.
  21. He did - fan media reported that he had turned down the job. And of that is the only point you are contesting I'll assume you agree with all the other legitimate points in made. Still waiting for the position to be filled, maybe Santa will bring us a new CEO.
  22. See in any projects I've managed or been involved in, you ensure the material is on-site (or on route) before you starting ripping things apart. It's called project management for a reason. You also have contingencies in place to cover all eventualities. You also keep your customers updated and stay ahead of the narrative, not lie to them hours before having to publicly state its been delayed. Oh and to blame the project falling apart on a "big boy who ran away" would have been comical if it wasn't so serious. You can try and polish it anyway you want. This project has been shambolic and the lack of contingencies are embarrassing and most importantly, very costly. The fans can do nothing but it shouldn't stop us realising and understanding the current board are not fit for purpose. If you believe that a business who's Chairman appeared to be "shocked" and "surprised" that the club had £11M of unpaid transfer / loan fees isn't hurtling out of control? A business who have squandered untold millions (record transfer fees x 2, record season ticket sales year on year, CL and EL money, record merchandise income) aren't hurtling out of control? A business who can't employ for strategic and crucial roles (a life long fan turned us down to continue to work for St Mirren) aren't hurtling out of control? Aye, alls good in the world of Rangers and this board are steering us in the right direction right enough.
  23. The stadium upgrade was necessary, nobody denies or argues against that. The project was shambolic from the start to its eventual completion, just like NEH before it. How much money has the complete mismanagement of the upgrade cost us? It'll run into millions. It was noticeable that due to their panic at the start of the season the board had no contingency in place for the eventuality some predicted. Actions do speak louder than words, this board offer neither. No CEO, no Head of Academy, no noticeable strategy. As I said, asleep at the wheel and the worrying fact is that the majority of fans are sleepwalking behind them as we hurtle out of control. This board either need to step-up and get the correct people in charge or they need to hand over the reigns to someone willing to make the necessary changes and appointments. The status quo can't continue, so its sh1t or get up off the pan time for the incumbents.
  24. I may be wrong, but it's the best deal we've had since we made our our kits.
  25. For me the embarrassing thing is only King is laying out a strategy (I understand he has to fulfil that) to take us forward. That strategy may not be what we all agree on or want to hear, but it's a strategy. The current board are asleep at the wheel. No strategy (so it appears), unsuccessful in filling crucial roles at the club, still making huge and humiliating decisions (the fact we are still a day away from our 1st real home game of the season as an example). If the current board believe they are the people to lead us forward (they may be), let's hear from them. Let's hear their strategy, let's hear their vision, let's hear how they are going to learn from the multiple mistakes they've made. Silence isn't an option any longer if they want to regain the support and more importantly the trust of the fan base (still tickets remaining for tomorrow's games tells its own story), they need to show us how we are going to restart the enthusiasm of the club, move forward and begin to win titles. Otherwise, they'd be as well closing the doors.
