What happens if they're better? Keeping a manager simply because the next one might not be better is not really an argument. Anyway, how much worse can we get?
-
In those days Dundee United and Aberdeen were better than us and Celtic. I'd agree that this is as bad as it was pre-Souness. It's definitely worse than under any manager since Pedro (maybe even worse than under him considering what players were at his disposal).

Caretaker until the end of the season. Can't stomach the thought of him managing even 1 more Rangers game, never mind finishing the season with him.

100%. This fallacy that Clement hasn't had money to spend drives me crazy. He's been backed and he's failed. There is nothing to suggest he is the manager to take us forward. For all his bluster when he was appointed, he's not backed up a single word of what he promised. Like Beale, the warning signs were there in pre-season, then we were told not to expect anything this season as its a "project" and far to many bought into this, including the players. It's time to draw a line under Clement's disastrous reign, Patrick Stewart said Clement would be judged on performances and results, if that's true, how many more defeats is he allowed? In reality he should have been sacked months ago, but we've allowed him to drag us down to depths not seen in years.

Great reason to keep him.

Unfortunately I'm on CCCS so will need to endure it.

Roll on the MOTM thread 😁 -

Only £600 for the away leg.

I don't know, but we can't keep a manager just because we've got a European tie on the horizon. He's proven he isn't up to the job. We're paying him £2M a year (whilst in the middle of a pay reduction process) and he has somehow managed to take us backwards. I'd rather go managerless to the end of the season that keep Clement.
-
How would it hamper us in Europe? A better coach would surely give us a better chance in Europe?
-
What's the benefit of keeping him?
-
Honest to God, he can't survive this, can he? Rangers - new contract for Clement incoming......
-
Trust the project......

I hope our new American friends aren't watching / in attendance. That was an utterly horrible 1st half performance. We have shown / offered absolutely nothing.
-
What an utterly uninspiring opening 24mims. Wish I hadn't bothered coming to game.

To early to take my star spangled banner and initiate chants of "USA, USA"?

I don't think it was interesting at all given who Rab tells anyone who'll listen who is "pals" are. And we wonder why we can never have, never mind dream of having fan ownership or involvement.

It will be interesting to see what happens. The Leeds guys (who all favou us up here, I may have played a small part in that 😁) have all said positive things about their involvement with Leeds. I'm still not 100% convinced on the deal but I think I'm more inspired by this than I am of more years of regression under the status quo. Only time will tell how it'll pan out but at some point, something has to happen to inject fresh impetus into our faltering club.

I worked with a few Leeds lads and keep in touch with them. They are worried that the focus will be on Rangers and not Leeds as even they understand that it'll be easier and cost less getting Rangers to CL on a regular basis than it would be with Leeds. Let's not forget our total income last year was circa £95M - that's not to be sniffed at. Internal restructuring and getting us operating correctly should see us breaking even (at worse). Ita undeniable that we require a "shot in the arm" - time will tell if this is it.
-
As a matter of interest, what made you come to this conclusion? Also, I don't think it's about trophies any longer, it's about survival and progress. That's not to say I'm totally convinced by this, so that's why I'm interested to hear why you believe this isn't/ won't be good for the club.

The stadium part of your post was touched on by Chris Jack in the podcast Ian posted above. It's a very interesting topic. Personally I've always imagined the bottom tiers of Copland / Brommie being "safe standing" which will help create a better atmosphere and potentially increase the capacity. Next seasons kits will still be Castore (or Umbro via Castore) and I'd like to stay with them if I'm honest. They admitted me are their brand leader in sportswear so maybe squeeze a better deal from them!.

Given the meltdown on Celtic fan Twitter pages, it's either happening or the best operation tango since the day we won the league at Tannidice 😀
