Yeah, a few titbits leaked to press trying to shift blame to him. It was interesting to hear Gilligan (IIRC) admitting that even if the steel had been on-site the day we started the project, it still wouldn't have been completed for the start of the season.

Bisgrove was fine in both roles he had at the club. The OF friendly was controversial but his job was to get is income, the people who agreed to that game were at fault. If you look at the trajectory of our retail department/profit since he joined, it's difficult to say he wasn't a success.

I don't think fans questioning Koppen's ability to multi-task / split himself over two important roles is a sign of impatience or being unrealistic. If our finances dictate that we are unable to fill critical roles, then we are closer to closing the doors and turning the lights out than many of us think. At this point, filling these roles is more important than replacing Tav, Dessers, Lawrence (et al), and all / any energy and finances need to be channelled into filling these roles. Thats the board's responsibility, they need to deliver as if we don't or can't get the correct people in to run the club, then everything else becomes pointless.

Yeah, my criticism was directed at the appointment rather than NK. Just another in a long line of lazy appointments from a board who clearly lack imagination or determination to move us forward. Suppose it saves a wage, so another boxed ticked.

Please can you explain what you mean by "attached to the pyramid system"? I know that a few junior teams around my area have teams up to U20's level - my nephew plays for one Junior teams aren't part of the pyramid structure as far as I am aware (i.e. they can't get into the league structure).

I think if you take Aribo and Bassey, it shows you don't have to look far. They were obviously at the top end of the youth age bracket, but Bassey was signed as a B-Team player but quickly showed he had what was required. That's the physicality and skill level we need to be targeting.

Compo's explanation is fair to be honest. I wasn't around for it, but my Dad and Uncles say much the same. Other than admitting theirs was better 😀
