  1. Do we know if the staff wage bill have been cut in line with the players?
  2. I think a destroyer is a priority, just behind a number 9 and Boateng is worth watching.
  3. What narrow parameters? Do you think there are 3 players currently playing in Scotland who could improve our starting 11 that we could afford? It's a simple question. There is no point of suggesting players who would possibly improve us (Lennon Miller as an example) that we can't afford.
  4. It's imperative that we improve our starting 11. Have you watched us this season? 😀 If these players or on a free, all well and good, but Cameron will have a choice of clubs (who'll be paying better wages and offering a larger signing on fee). Lennon Miller is way out of our price range. Ross Graham wouldn't get 10 games a season for us. I don't hate Shankland just don't get what people see in him. He's had 3 good seasons in his career and has reverted to type. Boats sailed.
  5. Could you name three players currently playing in Scotland (outwith Celtic and within our very limited budget) who'd immediately improve our starting 11 (don't think I could). Or are all these signings from Scotland be "projects" for the future like Bailey Rice?
  6. As long as it is not "exclusively". If it is, shut the doors and turn the lights out.
  7. Not what I said. If our scouts and footballing departments imagination only stretches as far as Gorgie Road then God help us. Koppen has already said the Scottish market is one we are going to explore, if that didn't set alarm bells ringing then nothing will. Don't think anyone was critical of the thinking behind the Igamane signing, it was the fact he wasn't fit nor ready to contribute at a time when we only had 1 fit striker. At close to £2M and given where we are financially, we needed a player who contributed in July not November, when we are out of the CL and watching Celtic disappearing over the horizon domestically
  8. But it isn't the market we should be in. Its a lazy signing if it ever happens. I'm sure there are far better players than Shankland out there that we could get for similar wages and who might have a sell-on value. For the umpteenth time, if Lawrence Shankland is the type of player we are looking to sign, then we'd be as closing the doors.
  9. Agreed, but at this point in time Dessers is a better option than Shankland.
  10. Disagree, Durie came with a very good pedigree having played in England's top flight and Dodds was an excellent scorer in the Scottish League.
  11. The most worrying aspect is the complete and utter apathy towards, and acceptance, of this contunied gross mismanagement from the majority of the fans. Impatient and unrealistic they scream, give them a chance to get things right they say. No thanks, times up. There's more chance of them closing us down than there is to make us a force against.
  12. Your examples aren't the same scenario as Shankland. Dodds in particular scored goals every season in the top league. They both played in far superior Rangers teams than the present team.
  13. They (the board) remain the biggest obstacle to Rangers moving forward as a club.
  14. It's the continued lowering off expectations that the majority of the fans have bought into.
  15. Tough market they say? Celtic got 4x£800,000 for Micky Johnstone
  16. False economy. Is Lawrence Shankland the only striker in the world available in January in our wage bracket? If signing Shankland is a sign of our ambitions and imagination when it comes to recruitment, we'd as well just shut the doors now.
  17. Raskin, Igamane, Cerny, Hagi and Tav all played well and contributed to a great win. Good to see Danilo grab a goal and what a cameo from the CD9. I'm going to go for Tav - scored the all important opener (rolling back the years ghosting in at the back post) and sure he got an assist as well.
  18. So we want to sell the leagues current top goal scorer and sign a player who has scored 1 goal this season (IIRC) and has 3 "good seasons" in his entire career? Such a Rangers thing to do. Signing Shankland is as ambitious as signing McInnes as manager.
  19. As well as the ref, why / how does it take so long to check offside on VAR? Both the goals checked were clearly on-side, took an eternity for VAR to confirm them.
  20. Right, I'm going to be honest, but I thought, whilst the result was excellent and we scored some great goals, thought that we could still do the basics better. First half we were pedestrian and missed easy chances to open the scoring and extend our lead. Also thought whilst we played two number 9s, neither of them played as a 9 in that 1st half. Second half we were much better and far more clinical, but there were still periods of the game where we still look like we don't know what we are doing. A step in the right direction, a welcome improvement but still more to come and still a lot we can do better.
  21. Anyone else at Ibrox? Place is empty. Looks like the demonstration is "inside" the ground tonight. I stupidly and against my better judgement, I entered the ground. My idea was to swipe my card and go for something to eat but the friend I was meeting has patched the game completely.
  22. Rangers 2 v 0 Killie Tav FGS
