What an opportunity for Mr Murray to get massive respect from us, the fans, by banning The Daily Record and its 'journalists' from Ibrox for the latest sensationalist and inacurate slur against Rangers FC and the fans. Will he take it, not whilst they still put money into his back pocket. Cammy F

Not evident tonight - praised Scottish supporters all evening - especially us, the Rangers fans. He said early in the show that GMP had showed favoritism to Craptic for hosting 20,000 of them in Manchester and calling this game off. He spoke of glowing reports from Derby, Ipswich, Fulhum, Newcastle, Manchester etc about how brilliant our travelling support is and how we 'make' a pre-season game / testimonial. He also hoped that this doesn't start a domino effect and that next season, we are made welcome in England - he then talked about our global support, backed up by calls from Scotland, England, Wales and NI. A brilliant piece of PR for us and all it contained was unbiased and truthful journalism. Cammy F

People from the Bolton area on Talksport (including a St Midden fan!) are claiming that teams like Bolton and Wigan get a very raw deal from GMP (in comparison with Man U and City) and aren't surprised that they can not cope with the travelling fans. In fact, most were astonished that the game was given the go-ahead originally. Cammy F -
Mike Parry - this just isn't a regular club, this is a club that has worldwide support and interest Everyone we've spoken to who have played Rangers recently only have good things to say about them - Derby, Ipswich etc. ---------- Excelllent and truthful reporting - it'll never catch on Cammy F

What they said on the BBC website isn't what you put on your last post Frankie - thats what I meant - they should have fully explained that the game was going ahead as they had invisaged 5,000 travelling fans, but due to increased numbers, the game had to be cancelled. Cammy F -

If that is the case Frankie / Wija, then this is what the Police should be telling the media rather than the the vague statement issued last night. Cammy F -

Yeah, but surely they knew how many officers would be on duty/holiday when the game was being planned? We played Newcastle a few pre-seasons ago where around 15,000 Rangers fans travelled to Newcastle. There Police were bound to have been on 'holiday' as well, but they managed - there was no trouble and both sets of fans had a great time. Chelsea are playing Craptic in London in a few weeks time - this has the potential to be a riotous affair, yet this has been given the go-ahead. Will the MET have officers on holiday then? Cammy F -

Wija, I am not doudting your source, but surely GMP have dealt with bigger crowds than the 25,000 or so that were going to be at The Reebock? Man U regularly get 65,000+ fans and I would imagine that the Police have policed Manchester derbies, Man U v Liverpool games and top European games. If it was due to lack of resource, why wasn't the game rescheduled to a date where they had the resourse? Or why did they originally agree to the game? They must have known then how many fans we would bring down. Recently, we have taken 10-15,000 fans to Ipswitch, Derby, Newcastle, London etc with no problems what so ever. GMP force is the 2nd biggest in the UK....there is something fishy here or maybe I'm just being paranoid PS - good email tho! be interesting to see if you get a response! Cammy F -
Thanks Lynds - most appreciated... Oh BTW, you'd better make another post - 666 posts at the moment Cammy F

I don't think there is anything we can do - look at the recent lies and inuendos in the press that haven't been acted on; Our grass cut like a SASH The Eggs Benidict story The annual furore about our strip (its English, its orange, its a sash - its fuck all to do with the media) Lies about Mark Walters Lies about signing policy The Iborx disaster mocked in print The Ibrox disaster laughed at by journalists Jock Wallace and Bill Struth demonised in obituories A journalist calling us ORANGE SCUM A journalist who can't go a day without a dig at Rangers, the fans or the RST A journalist who wanted a 'Munich' to happen Aye Mr Murray, a dignified silence put them in their place - oh but its alright, they know who they are..... His debut was at Parkhead and the game was marred by TIMS throwing bananas at Walters and dressing up in monkey suits. The media also had stories in the morning of East End Grocers stating that they had run out of bananas. The kick-off of the second half was delayed 15 minutes so the fruit could be removed from the playing surface. Walters next game was against Hearts at Tynecastle and the same thing happened there. The game was delayed whilst te bananas were removed from the ground. I apologise to Lynds as my response was 'curt' but I thought Lynds was implying that Rangers fans were behind the racial abuse dished out to Walters. Cammy F

Lynds, that is utter nonsence, Mark Walters' first two games for Rangers were away to Craptic and Hearts. He received vile racist abuse from BOTH Craptic and Hearts fans, but NOT from Rangers fans :admin: If he did, would he have accepted an honorary membership for the RST? Cammy F

Neither has The Herald for poking fun at the Ibrox disaster and one of its reporters wishing for a Munich to happen when RFC were returning from France 1992/3 Cammy F

Excellent Frankie - but once again The RST forced into doing Rangers' job for them. I wait for the day where something as factual and articulate would be a JOINT statement from the RST and Rangers Football Club.... One can dream! Cammy F -
A few weeks ago, there was a thread about Still Game and I mentioned an article written by Still Game 'star' Sanjeev Kohli which stated that Rangers fans thro bananas at Mark Walters. Well, I've managed to find the article as a link was posted on FF. Here it is for your information ; http://www.sundayherald.com/print23584 Oh, and this article went unchallenged by Rangers Football Club Cammy F

How can you blame AM for Martin bain's work? Martin Bain has sole control over contracts, pay, transfer etc,....... I wish some fans would take time to learn exactly how our club works. Fan Fan admitted last week that it was Martin Bain who signed him not Alex McLeish  Any manager be it AM or PLG gives Martin Bain and David Murray a list of players that they want. They do not give them a transfer budget, they do not give them wage demands, they do not give them contracts. They ONLY supply names - it is Martin Bains job to get them signed, agree wages and length of contract etc. If we have dead-wood, over paid players on long contracts, it is ultimately down to Martin Bain and David Murray. All fine and good, but Burke is injured as is Fergie. Boyd is suspended for the start of the season, so there is 3 players who WILL NOT feature against Motherwell. So, it appears that the younger lads are going to have to step up to the plate sooner than most of us imagined. As for the players who performed well in Europe last year, most have been let go. Soti, Ronny and Lovnekrands were the stand-outs with Namouchi also playing well in most of the European ties. Cammy F
-
Jeremie Brechet would be a fantastic loan signing - the guy can play all accross the back line and is still rated in the £3M-£5M pound bracket. Cammy F
-
Because David Murray LETS THEM  He also allows them free pre-match, half-time and post-match hospitality and access to players and management.......... Thats were I am going wrong - instead of directing my disgust at Murray, I should direct it at the Loyal Rangers fans and maybe I'll be allowed free access to ibrox, Murray Park, European trips etc, etc and enjoy a free wee feast and drink on match days whilst being able to talk to players and managers etc Cammy F

Murray makes clearest hint yet that club is for sale...
CammyF replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
It is also interesting to read that in the year that we completed 9-in-a-row, Rangers were £20M in the BLACK. The addition of the Club Deck was done at a horrendous cost (and guess who benifited from those costs). He sold The Albion to his son for £1 to be used as a car-park which charges people £7 per car to park on matchdays (not a bad return). Azure catering was sold and it is predicted to make £14M profit this year and freely acknowledge that most business it receives is form Rangers connections. Thats £14M pounds that WE AREN'T GETTING. David Murray has gotten more out of Rangers than Rangers has ever gotten out of him. Cammy F
