  1. During their last home game of the season, their singing section, The Jungle Bhoys imploded and sections of this led thousands of fans in vile racist and sectarian chants. Now, this wasn't reported in the media, the information was gained from a 'craptic minded' website. Some of the songs sung included - I'd rather wear a turban than a sash - Soon there will be no protestants at all - and various IRA ditties. Add this to the fact that the green brigade are trying to take over from the bungle bhoys as the new singing section, we are going to hear more and more of these songs at Parkhead. We know that the media aren't going to do / say anything, but maybe, just maybe some of us Rangers fans are beginning to wake up and realise that if we want to bring this type of thing into the open, then we'll need to do it ourselves. 2. Saw most of the game last night and we did look impressive - good luck in the final. Cammy F
  3. Political songs are not allowed under the new UEFA directive - this was brought in so that UEFA could take action against supporters singing far-right wing chants at football and this will cover the IRA chants. Cammy F
  4. Agreed, if Rangers are going to play these fantastic Rangers songs, they need to play the original versions and not these raved versions. Cammy F

    Setanta

Don't have Sentanta, but like Frankie says, if I wasn't actively going to the footie, it sounds like a good deal and I'd probably go for it. Cammy F
  6. The leadership needs to come from 'respected' Rangers people as well - by that, I am meaning RST spokesmen like David Edgar and Stephen Smith, the editors of the fanzines, Robert McElroy etc. Frankie, I am sure you guys are on this as we speak and I look forward to hearing what the respective groups have to say on this (thorny) subject. I liked David Edgar's line - education not condemnation - an excellent line and would make an effective title for any announcements from the club, RST etc. Cammy F
  7. So has he caught up with UEFA deligates, spokespersons from TBO, RST and RSA as well as David Murray???? That exact reasoning is why I asked for calm, and leadership. For example, if David Murray makes it clear that anyone singing it will be banned from Ibrox for life, I am sure there will be a change in attitudes. Bizzarely, the UEFA decision only affects Ibrox - so apart from OF and European games, we really don't have a problem - TBO apart, nobody sings ANYTHING at Ibrox these days...
  8. I don't post on FF! However, this will be part of my article from the first No1 Fanzine of the season (if it gets published and I see no reason for it not!) If we are to educate people into NOT singing certain songs, they way to approach it is to show what the consiquences to Rangers will be if we don't refrain. Rangers is the one constant that runs thro our support, so the good of Rangers is in EVERYONE's hearts. Cammy F
  9. As we approach the new season, I have decided to take a different approach from Frankie who (rightly) gave you have analysis of our team that we expect to wrestle our title back from the inhabitants of Torbett Towers. Just as important as the squads ââ?¬Ë?on-fieldââ?¬â?¢ performances this season, is ââ?¬Ë?off-fieldââ?¬â?¢ performance. And, I am not just talking about the abysmal atmosphere at Ibrox. We are well and truly in UEFAââ?¬â?¢s sights and they have plenty of allies waiting for our first slip-up so they can run back to UEFA and point the finger at us ââ?¬Ë?big, bad bigoted Hunsââ?¬â?¢. Make no mistake, blind refusal to listen to UEFA (and Murray and supporters representatives) is no longer an option. If we donââ?¬â?¢t heed this warning, Rangers Football Club will suffer accordingly. Some will say that bowing to UEFA is a sign of weakness, that it is the first step to losing all of our songs and that those who support axing of The Billy Boys are ââ?¬Ë?sell-outsââ?¬â?¢, ââ?¬Ë?PC-brigadeââ?¬â?¢ etc. Given David Murrayââ?¬â?¢s refusal to back us even once, over the last decade, has led to us being unable to defend ourselves from this UEFA decision. In my opinion, we have no option but to comply with the UEFA directive as going against it is only going to lead to Rangers being deducted points, relegated, thrown out of Europe etc, and I donââ?¬â?¢t think that there is one Rangers fan that really wants to see that happen. The argument that ââ?¬Ë?fenianââ?¬â?¢ isnââ?¬â?¢t directed at Catholics and Craptic fans lost any credibility when sections of our fan-base started to sing the cringe-worthy ââ?¬Ë?You Are A Fenianââ?¬â?¢. There is no denying that sections of our fans think / believe that a Fenian is a Catholic or a Craptic fan. Cutting to the chase, there are going to be two distinct camps amongst the support this year ââ?¬â?? those who will refrain from singing The Billy Boys and those who will continue to sing this song as an act of defiance. Both will claim that they are right, both will see the other section as ââ?¬Ë?the enemy withinââ?¬â?¢. This is concerning, as is the fact that there has been no leadership from the club (although this was promised). So folks, Iââ?¬â?¢d like to appeal for calm from both sides over this issue and I urge the club (we only have over a week to our first home game) to release a statement that details what songs are considered ââ?¬Ë?singableââ?¬â?¢ and which arenââ?¬â?¢t. They must also clearly outline the severity of any punishment that we are likely to receive from UEFA for continued singing of The Billy Boysââ?¬Â¦. So, what ââ?¬Ë?campââ?¬â?¢ am I in? Iââ?¬â?¢m in the ââ?¬Ë?bin it for the good of Rangers Football Clubââ?¬â?¢ camp but can understand why people donââ?¬â?¢t want to give an inch over this song. At a time where Italian clubs are getting reduced sentences from match fixing, we are getting hammered from a ââ?¬Ë?songââ?¬â?¢. Apart from that issue, lets get right behind PLG and the squad and lets make ourselves the 12th man. I remember not so long ago that Ibrox was one of the most intimidating stadium in the world ââ?¬â?? we are the only people that can make this happen again. Cammy F
  10. Bring your objections and a list of your recommended songs to the attention of Rangers - its the only way you'll get them changed I don't mind the RB and GSTQ tunes (but I can't remember GSTQ being played over the tannoy tho) and it was great to hear the French NA on Saturday. As I said, this is a bit of a heated topic as you can't please all of the people all of the time - its getting the right mix - if more people lobby the club, maybe we'll get the mix right. Cammy F
  11. Thing is tho Jim, at least the Club Deck Loyal are trying to improve the atmosphere at the game - if you don't like their choice of tunes, why not try and lobby Rangers (as the CDL have) and get what you think will improve the atmosphere on matchdays played..... What is it they say, you can't please all of the people all of the time.... Cammy F
  12. Nice work gersfem and Del (for getting the banner out). Hopefully we'll have photos of the new banner soon.... Some others of the orignal banner Cammy F
  13. Proudly sang at the end of every home match by TBO 'The Queen' is traditionally sung at the end of events....! Cammy F
  14. About bloody time - a huge pat of the back to those who have worked so hard to get this song played. Cammy F
  15. What a radical way to improve the atmosphere at Ibrox Cammy F
  16. I don't think it is jealousy - I know life-long Chelsea fans who don't particularly like some of the newer Chelsea fans (just like some traditional Man U fans don't like the prawn-sandwitch brigade). As someone who has Chelsea sympathies, I can see where people are coming from - they are rapidly becoming the new Man U - hated by most and supported (in part) by fans who'll jump to the next big successful club. Cammy F
  17. Arsenal didn't have a safety certificate for the 'full stadium' - so it was true, the game was a sell out as they had sold all the tickets for the parts of the ground that were open. This happens a lot with new, modern grounds. The safety inspectors will give the go-ahead for sections of the ground to be opened and others closed. Same thing happened for the extension to Old Trafford. Arsenal will have a safety certificate in place for the entire stadium in time for the new season. Have to say that from the little I saw last night, the stadium looked great and it was great to see, a real top-class footballer like Dennis Berkamp get a good send off. A truly woderfull players. Oh, and I wonder if Arsenal have 'decorated' their new stadium with certain symbols and portraits that wouldn't be out of place at Ibrox (like Highbury was). Rangers - Arsenal - A REAL CONNECTION. 18. All the very best Marv- You Kept Believing and guess what, you were right..! He will always have a place in Rangers folklore. Cammy F - Big Marv Loyal RSC
  19. or sometimes referred to as Have You Seen The Glasgow Rangers - a fantastic song that should be reintroduced at Ibrox ; http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=DE1EC21D4E94AB35 Cammy F

    todays game

Typical pre-season friendly to be honest that lost any edge it had when both teams started to make a number of subs early in the second half. Letizi looked commanding and had one very good save from a free-kick. His distribution seemed fair. Only concern is that after coming and collecting 2 corners / crosses early on, he stopped and it appeared to thro the defence into uncertainty. He resumed coming for and collecting again and look commanding again. Hutton is still a huge concern for the new season. He played very badly and appears to come very narrow when the play develops down his wing leaving open spaces down the side and in behind him. Smith has a solid game as we have come to expect from him. Svensson and R-Jod coped well with everything that they had to do and it'll take some time for them to develop an understanding and a partnership. Svensson looked and played like Amo to a certain degree - looked like he could make a mistake any minute! Clement, Sionko, Adam and Buffel had very decent games but IMO the standouts were Prso and Hemdami. N'Daiyi and Novo had decent games when they were introduced and N'Daiyi looks to have pace, strength and ability. Cammy F

  22. Jim Divine is anything but a 'fair-minded' Tim - but fare play to him on this ocassion. Cammy F
  23. Labour MP's (and Tims to boot) stick up for Rangers and the fans - http://www.theherald.co.uk/politics/66323-print.shtml Cammy F
  24. Still we have plenty of criticsism, but no alternantives. Surely we aren't happy at the current public image of our club? Surely we all have ideas of how this can be changed? If not, frankly, we deserve everything we get. Cammy F
  25. Anything m8 - what ever song you'd like to see played when the team comes out the tunnel. Cammy F
