  1. Once again the wee bigot makes an inflammatory gesture to the Rangers support during an OF game and once again the wee innocent, misunderstood and downtrodden maggot gets away with it. When the gesture was brought to the attention of the Police, they shrugged it off and said that it was up to the SPL to act / punish the wee reptile. This leads me on to the Policing and Stewarding of OF games at Torbett Towers. As you approach from the East, you are forced along London Road and are met by streets filled with the jolly craicsters who jovially throw objects at buses, drink in the street and sing their loveable terrorist songs with impunity. It isnââ?¬â?¢t until you turn into the ââ?¬Ë?Rangers Parking Sectionââ?¬â?¢ that you encounter a Policeman. And by God, do you encounter them in the bus park ââ?¬â?? they are there in riot gear, on horses and with dogs. As we walked the short distance to the ground, I had my ticket checked 3 times and had the bag containing our club flag searched twice (and was then searched at the turnstyles). The steward in the first cordon was a charming fellow who had some lovely Indian ink tattoos. On one hand he had ââ?¬Ë?1916ââ?¬â?¢ and on the other ââ?¬Ë?I-R-Aââ?¬â?¢. Now imagine the outcry if Craptic fans were greeted at Ibrox with stewards with U-V-F and King Billy tattoos? Add this to the overzealous Policing at Easter Road the pervious week, one has to ask the question, do all other travelling supporters face the same hostility, heavy-handedness and provocation whilst visiting places like Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Parkhead, or is this some sort of welcome especially reserved for Rangers fans? 2. ... underestimated the quality, pace, passion and strength of the SPL? IMO, he has and this can be seen in some of his signings. He signed players like Svensson on merits that are not suitable for the SPL. A centre-half that cannot head a ball might look class in France, but in the SPL, he looks like a Sunday League player. Leading on from this, we had a very interesting conversation on the journey home on Saturday about the merits of employing an 'assistant manager' from Scotland. Look at most 'foriegn' managers in the EPL, they all have 'English - English based' assistants and when Souness signed for us, his first signing was Walter Smith. Cammy F
  3. Exactly, and I stand by what I said, Cammy Fraser was a better Rangers player than Ian Murray has been to date (for the reasons given). Erm, disagree - the 2-1 game at Easter Road Hibs ripped us in the first 45 minutes. They did this by exploiting the width given to them by Hutton and Murray going far to narrow - so maybe Murray should share the blame with Hutton on that one. The cup game was different - we played well in the first half and could / should have been 2-3 goals up at half-time. Terrible defending cost us the game and Murray was at fault along with Ricksen, Soti and Big Marv. I only used those games as an example - apart from the Villarreal away game, I am struggling to remember a game last season where Ian Murray stood out for Rangers. Maybe I am being unfair / fickle or whatever, but that is just how I remember it. Only DA can answer that question - my theory is as valid as yours or Calscot's tho, unless one of you are DA in disguise. In my defence, Millar featured in a lot of games as soon as he signed for us tho... Cammy F
  4. Agreed with most of what you say, apart from Hutton - he is / was a promising player, but IMO and it is only that, he has gone backwards. The main problem for me is that he is inclined to come in too narrow and leaves the flank exposed. Also, he gives away stupid free-kicks in dangerous areas. Maybe it is just me, but the Zenit game demonstrated that the players we have in reserve just aren't good enough. That was their opportunity to show PLG what they are capable off and they failed to deliver. I think the reverse of you, IMO PLG has changed the starting 11 to many times. IMO, he should chose his first choice 11 and stick with it. Cammy F
  5. As we fast approach the anniversary of the death of the legend that is Bill Struth, how do you think Mr Struth would perceive the Rangers of today? Do you think he would support David Murrays management and custodianship? What do you think he would say about the modern day players, the traditions of our club and the way football is played today? Also, what do you think his opinions of us, the fans would be? Do you think he would have stood back for so long and watched the *** brigade soil our good name? Would he have allowed no-marks like Spiers, Keevins and McNee to continually attack us or the club? In my humble opinion, I firmly believe that Mr Struth will be spinning in his grave at the current state of our club, the once great institution. What would we give for a leader like Bill Struth today? Cammy F
  6. Yip, they should retitle the AGM as 'Groundhog Day' - same inane questions from the floor, the same responses from the Custodian. Typical David Murray, all noise no action... Cammy F
  7. And if anyone has retained interest in the thread, and it's original topic, Clement is out of the OF game on Saturday and Prso is struggling to be fit - source is Radio Snyde and Evening Times. Cammy F
  8. Wrong again, you claimed I was fickle due to the fact that you 'assumed' I want short term wins over long term success. That is despite the fact that I have, for 4 years, continually asked David Murray to divert all available funds to Youth Development. Very fickle and short-termism you'll agree You then assumed that Gersfem was fickle for a one-off rant about handing back her ticket - something she is perfectly entitled to do. Maybe it is what you or I would do, but hey, some of us have a different opinion. Bullshit - I have never, and will never dictate to anyone how best to support Rangers. We have all differing views, opinions etc, we are all entitled to them. If a fan wants to hand back theire ticket, what business it of mine? I use my rants to portray my opinion on Rangers and other events. Do I expect everyone to agree with them? Do I fook, in fact, I would worry if most people did as I class myself as 'way-out there'. I also publish them to provoke debate and encourage people to rip them apart as they see fit. Nope, never lecutured you - just don't expect me (or anyone else) to sit back whilst you assume the worst in other people. I encourage debate on my threads, you seem to oppose debate and don't like other replying if they don't agree with you - or assume that they are fickle or that their noses are out of joint. So you are selective in your liking of people who disagree with you. I'm not, anyone is free to disagree with me, everyone is free to have a differing opinion from me, they are also free to say so on the forum without me calling them fickle, or that their nose is out of joint or that they aren't 'reasoned and rational. This isn't a compitition Calscot, there are no winners and losers whilst debating the merits of a football club. As for changing my opinion, I have on many subjects including Rangers signing Catholics, David Murray, songs that we sing etc, etc. The reason I changed my mind, listening and reading posts by fellow supporters. Very closed-minded of me. As for being difficult, so what, and why should I be any different? If you find me difficult, you expect me to change just for your sake? Jeez... The only agenda I have is to ensure that Rangers Football Club are the best they can be - make no apologies for that, I am afraid Never have and never will claim that I am - just one voice amoungst 10000000's Cammy F

There loss tho - at our dance last year, the wee bloke from Ibrox sold-out everything he had brought along and made £1000's ...... We are thinking about contacting Rangers and asking if they can supply us goods at cost and we'll sell them ourselves. Cammy F

    Jjb

As our annual RSC dance is approaching, we are looking to get everything in place for this - band, catering, DJ, players and we usually have a stall from 'Rangers Direct' selling tops etc on the night. Now, everything has been booked and we visited the local JJB store to see if they were wanting to bring along a 'stall' to sell Rangers gear on the night. The guy we spoke to informed us that we would need to speak to the manager but he didn't see a problem and that it was a good idea. The manager of the store contacted us and once he knew it was a RSC dance said the following 'Why would I want a stall at something like that? Anyway, we are all Tims'... Cammy F
  11. If true, why wait until the end of the transfer window to offer cash - why not give PLG the money and players ne needed / identified when we had the chance (pre-world cup)? Another master-stroke from The Mint - 'Here Martin, I have a cunning plan - lets not buy the players PLG has identified now, lets wait until 20 minutes before the window closes and we'll get them on the cheap'... Cammy F
  12. Nope, I contact the 'service provider'. Sanyo, Sony etc don't regulate the TV programmes, they offer a platform for broadcasting.. If I don't like a certain programme, I chose NOT TO WATCH IT... Simple really Cammy F
  13. Nope - its called freedom of choice Maybe Gersfem (along with others) have given it serious thought. Maybe they are p155ed of working like c*nts to save up enough money to go and watch Rangers to contiunally be served up dross. Maybe, like most working class families, the £1000 pounds they spend annually, could be put to 'better use' for the family. Maybe they can no longer afford the £34 pounds for OF tickets, £350 pounds for same day trip to Molde, £25 pounds for games in Edinburgh, 3 away games on the trot. Some might try actually trying to follow Rangers - pay the money we pay, have the hassle we have from Police, Stewards etc - yoiu don't get that from your £100 package from Sentanta. So you are in no position to judge, but you just had to reply and call gersfem 'fickel' It does have relevance - as for my nose being out of joint, why would it be? It appears that it is your nose that is out of joint, I haven't and wouldn't call supporters of this club fickel or lecture them on how best to follow Rangers. Why? Because I don't agree with you. Sorry, from now on, I'll not disagree with anything you say oh worthy master - I now 'have a grip'... Cammy F
  14. But surely, even a paying customer is entitled to question the quality of product they have purchased? If you bought a colour TV and you only got black and white picture, would you shrug it off as 'well, I paid my money, I take my chances'? Cammy F
  15. The problem is, a win on Saturday and the vast majority of the fans will be back in 'everything's rosey in the garden' camp. It's amazing what flaws an OF victory can hide (ditto two last gasp SPL titles). Even if we hammer them 8-0 on Saturday, we will still be facing the same problems as we are now - a chairman with no vision for the future, no youth development, no finance for new players, etc but, hey we fucked the tims........ Deja Vue?

That can be labled against the last 3 managers - both DA and WS left us in a shambles without covering themselves in glory in Europe (remember AEK, Grashoppers, Strum Graz et al) and not winning domestically. So why is AM targetted more than WS and DA? Cammy F
  17. I wonder if any of us on GersNet, you apart, who isn't an archetypal fickel fan? As you appear to thro this insult at everyone recently.... Cammy F

  19. When PLG was appointed, I asked for caution, and stated that there would be 'no miralce'. Rangers are rotton to the core and until our 'Custodian' sorts these ills, or fucks off, we will go from bad to worse. Still, some are more happy lambasting AM than looking at the real problems our new manager and club face. Someone said that Rangers were like different cars who keep damaging the gear box - I know, but bare with me. If you had 4 different cars and the gears packed in on all 4, would you blame the cars or would you blame the driver (or the person servicing the car)? Cammy F

    Deja Vue?

Go back your list and see how many games they had to play to get to the last 16 of the CL. Souness done it by playing only 2 games  If you are going to make comparisons, make sure you give all the details behind them. And, even with the above, that is still a horrendous tale for a team like Rangers Cammy F
  21. CammyF

    Deja Vue?

Yeah, and Jock Wallace received millions when he won 2 trebles in 3 years  John Grieg's first season saw Rangers play some of the best football I have witnessed, especially on the European stage. We lost the league to Craptic, but in reality, we should have won it. I really do wonder how good Grieg could have been as a manager. If only he had won that league title, I firmly believe that JG would have become a legend as a manager as he did as a player. Cammy F
  22. You obviously never saw much of Ian Murray and Rangers last season then. He was destroyed twice against Hibs. The game at Easter Road, he was ripped whilst playing left back. The cup game at Ibrox, he was again ripped at left back and was then put at centre-half - Hibs then went on to score a further 2 goals. Like most of the team, his best performance came in Europe, he had a great game against Villarreal away. Apart from that he was very oridinary. As for AM not liking him, funny how he bought him, tried him in 3 positions (left back, centre-half and midfield) before dropping him. As for Cammy Fraser, I'd argue that he was better than Murray. He played in a worse team and had a great goal-scroing record from midfiled, including a few in OF games. A record most of our current midfield would die for. So Clement shouldn't be playing for Rangers then? He is younger than Riorden and has played less games (career wise) than him. What a load of tosh, he is struggling with training and has off-field problems We didn't? Funny how I can remember him scoring 5 goals in a first team game, shortly after he joined us. He then came on in a CL group game to score a great goal - he was then sold as he wasn't deemed good enough by DA. Cammy F
  23. My tickets for the Lisbon Lions Lower are £34 pounds each - add £7 each for the bus and a beer before the game, there is little change out of £100. Sunday at Fester Raod, tickets were £25 each (same as Swinecastle). Cammy F

    Deja Vue?

So teams that cannot string 3 passes together routinely get to the last 16 of the Champions League and get knocked out by one of the best teams in the compition that year? A team that only kncoked us out on away goals (one which was off-side) and a team that we played off the pitch in their own back-yard? It is not denied, but even on here it is argued against - even you were saying that his 2 league titles were lucky and against shit opposion. AM spent around £10M in his 4 years, he brought in over £30M in the same period as he was forced to sell out best players (to bring down the wage bill). No manager could live with having to sell their best players year in, year out and replacing them with inferior players. IIRC, every close season AM lost around 8-10 players and signed around 6-8 to replace them. You should look at the videos of DA's seasons at Rangers - watch BF play in a midfield 4 that included players like Gio, Albertz, Reyna etc and watch him in Europe, especially against Laverkausen (sp) away. The watch AM's first season and a half and watch the influence BF has on Rangers and on experienced players like RDB - it was a joy to watch. We may be stuck with him, but that shouldn't stop us trying to get him to right his wrongs, to get him to push Rangers to where we belong. Cammy F

That is exactly what I am saying. Everything that David Murray has done in his time at Rangers is 'short-term'. Have you ever heard him preaching about 5 year plans (we had a 3 year plan but ditched it after 18 months)? Have you ever heard David Murray preaching about the benefits for having your own in-house Youth Development? David Murray has sold off every arm of Rangers FC that was making a profit. The Ticketing Centre (to one of his companies), the catering (to one of his companies) , Youth Development, The Albion (to his son for £1), merchindise etc etc. Less than a decade ago, Rangers were in the black, the leaders off and on the field in Scotland and in 1993 were more profitable and successful (in Europe) than Mancherster United. Now, I know that SKY TV had a huge impact, but that is where we were at. Our rivals at that time were at rock bottom, they were finishing 3rd, 4th and 5th in the SPL and were minutes from closing down. To David Murrays eternal shame, they are now in better shape off and on the field than we are. Now, DM's supporters will tell me that he brought us Gazza, Luadrup, 9-in-a-row. I'd argue that WE (the fans) brought all that - we have invested much more of our money in Rangers than David Murray has. Where was DM's long-term plans then? And more importantly, where are they now? Cammy F
