  1. Didn't he always fancy a crack at the French National Team - they aren't doing too well at the moment, but wouldn't rule him out of that role. Cammy F
  2. I've been told that Tuesday will be the day for the announcement. Cammy F
  3. Yeah, lets bust the new managers transfer budget by paying off yet another 6-8 players..... :admin: Cammy F
  4. Interesting part regarding McCall - someone who has done brilliantly with Sheffield United - he is the first person on the training pitch and the last one off it. Warnock credits his attitude and training as the reason Sheffield United have done so well recently. Cammy F
  5. and will be replaced by Walter Smith and Ally McCoist.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2007/01/04/ufnall04.xml Cammy F
  6. Are you telling us that BF FORCED PLG out of Ibrox Steve? Does a successful businessman like Sir David Murray listen to wee neds in all his business ventures? Surely shum mistake as Sir Shaun would say..... Cammy F
  7. And who would buy them? One things for sure, PLG won't take them with him..... Cammy F
  8. I see what you are saying m8, but in reality, all the vast majority of fans want to see is The Rangers doing well domestically and The Rangers being run by 'Rangers men'. If this trio get Rangers back on track (and there is nothing to suggest that they won't), hey presto, the vast majority forget all about the youth development, the fact that we don't own our brand name, that Murray has sold the silver to his co-horts etc. Bobs you uncle - Murray is flavour of the month again - well apart from the resident cynics like myself and steve (must be an age / punk thing ) Cammy F
  9. OK, if we were to look back at all the old threads from this time last year, the majority of us were calling for Murray to sack AM and replace him with names like Butcher (spit), McCoist, Gough and Durrant. I was sceptical, as none of those mentioned have / had enough experience to manage The Rangers (in Butchers case, he had burned his bridges). The initial excitment and hype surrounding PLG exceeded all our expectations and we all forgot about or letters to Santa requesting Ecks removal and replacement by the above (some even mentioned the two Jimmies - I read somewhere today where they were referred to as Tango and Sash - made we laugh, but I digress). Before PLG was announced, a few posters (me included) discussed the possibility of Smith (or Souness) returning with a young manager under their wing. Someone like Billy Davies or Gus McPherson. IMO, this would still be my preferred solution - by all means bring in McCoist, Durrant, Gough, Laudrup, Albertz or the likes as coaches, but IMO we need someone with experience between Smith (or Souness) and the likes of Durrant and McCoist. Cammy F
  10. But isn't DM too clever for that to happen? He hoodwinked us into believing that AM (who was as successful as Craptics 2nd most successful manager of ALL time) was being replaced by a manager who would deliver 'moonbeams of success) - when in reality, he couldn't deliver 3 back to back victories. He looks like replacing PLG with Rangers legends, hence taking away the spotlight from himself - they guy who actually employed Eck and PLG................. Cammy F
  11. Do we believe that IF our new management / coaching team consists of Walter Smith, Ally McCoist and Ian Durrant that this will placate the anti/pro Murray, anti/pro PLG and anti/pro BF sections of the fan base so we can move forward as a 'united front'? If it is, then a true master-stroke by David Murray I was one who was suckered in by the PLG signing and Murrays protestations regarding finance, I can already feel myself (against my better judgement) being suckered in again was the 'promise' of a Scottish & Rangers management / coaching team and the prospect of some exciting Scottish players being signed. 12. LL can go anytime Clement *may offer* something if he can be coached to actually cross the halfway line and preactice shooting. Sebo may actually benefit from coaching from McCoist (if he is to be part of the coaching staff) and IMO we'd struggle to sell him anyway Svensson was coming onto a game but needs an experienved centre-half beside him Sioko - again, IMO he has started to show what he is capable off and I would like to see him given an extended run in the team. None of the fringe players that I have seen have looked any good to be honest. Papic is another player who looked decent but has either lost confidence or just doesn't want to be around here. Cammy F
  13. PLG was handed, and binned a file on the best young scottish talent when he arrived at Murray park. The file, compiled by McLeish and Watson contained the names Thomson and Brown (at the top of the list). So, given that, I would say it wasn't PLG who insigated these moves, maybe the 'new manager' has already given DM his 'shopping list'. Cammy F
  14. In the world according to David Murray (and Cammy F), fiction is stranger than fact... Hey, as I said at the top of the piece, some of the above is fact, some will no dobt be fiction, the majority will lie somewhere inbetween. Only time will tell how much of the above comes true. BTW, it is my feeling that BF play, but not captian, Rangers Football Club for the remainder of the season and possibely the remainder of his career. Cammy F
  15. Also, to purely blame Fergie for PLG leaving is utter bollocks, final decision rests with one man and one man only. As far as I have ascertained, the vast majority of the dressing room backed Fergie over PLG anyway - his position was untenable. Cammy F
  16. Some of this is fact, some of it fiction and most of it will fall somewhere in-betweenââ?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦. Throwing together information I have received from a few sources, friends and Rangers ââ?¬Ë?peopleââ?¬â?¢, it appears that The Boy David has pulled off a master-stroke. Youââ?¬â?¢ll all know my feelings when it comes to the minted one, but even Iââ?¬â?¢ll admit that when he puts his mind to something, he usually gets what he wants. PLG and BF have been (un)willing participants in David Murrays latest brain-wave concerning Rangers Football Club. PLG was looking for a way out of Rangers as things were clearly not working out as planned (hence his ââ?¬Ë?damaging my reputationââ?¬â?¢ quote) and he wanted to become the next French National Coach ââ?¬â?? only heââ?¬â?¢s tied to a contract at Rangers. During the summer, Rino Gattuso made contact with David Murray (thro Walter Smith) and indicated that due to his family circumstances (his wife wants their kid(s) educated in Scotland), he wanted to return home. He was unable to move in the summer, but informed the minted one that he would be able to return in January (or this summer at the latest). As Rino let slip in an interview (which I posted on here) a deal had already been done, wages agreed and a timetable put in place for his return. Enter PLG ââ?¬â?? PLG wasnââ?¬â?¢t for having the Chairman decide what players we signed (as most Managers would) but knew that this particular hurdle would take 6 months before he would have to ââ?¬Ë?negotiateââ?¬â?¢ it. In saying that, maybe PLG secretly warmed to the fact that he would have one of the best midfield players in Europe in his squad. Here comes a problem ââ?¬â?? Rino mentions to The Minted one that he would ââ?¬Ë?preferââ?¬â?¢ to work under his Scottish father ââ?¬â?? Walter Smith and would love to Captain The Rangers. Ok, says The Boy David, not an issue. PLG wants a ticket out of Ibrox, Wee Bazza needs knocking down a peg or two. Get PLG to strip Bazza of the captaincy whilst assuring Bazza that he wonââ?¬â?¢t be sold and that PLG ââ?¬Ë?may not be aroundââ?¬â?¢ for much longer. Also, with Walter Smith in charge, backed up by ââ?¬Ë?Scotlandââ?¬â?¢ legend, Ally McCoist, certain young, in demand Scottish talent pledge their futures to Rangers Football Club and others indicate that they wouldnââ?¬â?¢t be adverse to working with them and sign from other Scottish clubs. Following The Scottish management team into Ibrox on Tuesday will be Andy Webster, Kevin Thomson and Scott Brown (deal for Brown is done and dusted, as I posted a few weeks back). Following them will be Murrayââ?¬â?¢s coup de gras Rino Gattuso either this month or in the summer. So, take from that what you want. Cammy F

So if he is playing his own game then he singlehandly won the games mentioned? IMO when he plays well, he actually brings the best out of those around him. However, not even the best player in the world can get the best out of bad players on a regular basis. It is not BF's responsibility to ensure that Svensson can head a ball, Hendami can mark a forward, that Clement can actually cross the half-way line, that Sebo can shoot and score... It is a terrible day when Rangers fans actually shoot down a Rangers captain for 'doing to much'. Cammy F

I'll only list recent games where BF has been brilliant - Craptic, Hibs at Ibrox, Aberdeen at The Dung Heap (first hour), UEFA cup games...... You said in a previous post that we can't be a 'one man team', you are right, name ONE other Rangers player that can be mentioned in the same sentance as Fergie when it comes to skill, touch, passion, commitment, ability etc (Prso excluded) or who has been any better than Fergie in the last 2 seasons? He isn't the same player, but he gives 110% EVERYTIME he pulls on a Rangers jersey - I just wish we had 11 BF's instead of one (or none). Cammy F
  19. Accordiong to Radio Clyde, David Murray has confirmed that BF won't be sold and won't hand in a transfer request and a further meeting will take place next Tuesday. In the meantime BF will (as planned) train with the 1st team squad and if the manager requires, could be in the squad for the game at EEP. Cammy F

Rubbish, when BF plays well, Rangers play well. When BF plays poorly (or doesn't play), Rangers play poorly. Remember that football is a team game and the other 9 outfield players must take responsibility - that is something that is lacking at Rangers at the moment. No one wants to take responsibility. If I were the Rangers captain, I am not sure that I would be able to keep my trap shut and not offer my opinion on the lazy MOFO's that are currently masquarading (sp) as Rangers players, or the managers tactics, sub's and game plans. Welcome to David Murray's Rangers.... Cammy F

Yeah, we are far better without BF - look at the only decent performances this season (and last), look back at the videos of them, and I will wager that in over 90% of them, BF was the driving force behind the team / performance. Rewind back to 2-3 seasons ago and remember ourselves that BF was taking pain-killing injections, that meant he was physically sick for 2-3 days after matches so he could continue to play for Rangers. Rewind back to The Helicopter season and see the improvement in the team when BF returned from Blackburn - again, rewatch the games and see who was the driving force behind our 'come-back'. If anyone thinks we were 'better' on Sunday than for most of this season, you are talking rubbish - we were terrible on Sunday and lucky to defeat a team that are struggling at the wrong end of the table. Has our expectations and standards dropped that much? Cammy F
  23. I am far from Boyd's biggest fan - IMO he is lazy, can't trap a ball, can't make runs off the ball, but one thing you can't argue with is the lads scoring record. His is now the SPL's 2nd highest scorer 68 goals behind Larrson. IMO, Boyd will take 3 seasons to surpass that record. As for his support of BF, he is a 'Rangers man' and has also been quoted, along with Prso as players who have questioned the managers signings, tactics and direction. It is far to early to compare Boyd to McCoist, in fact, I would wager that KB will NEVER be half the player that McCoist was (there is no shame in that for Boyd tho), but he can score goals. But given his 'salute', he could be next out the door as it is no seceret that PLG doesn't rate him. Cammy F
  24. Agreed, but he's not done ANYTHING to suggest that he is the man to rekindle our reputation. In saying, with a boss like DM / Bain, not many managers could. Cammy F
  25. The interview was a nightmare, so much so, he started to answer questions in French.... Remember it wasn't long ago that mr Le Guen stated that Rangers were ruining is reputation. Well Mr Le Guen, you aren't doing very much for ours.... Expect Mr Murray to break his silence around Easter time. Cammy F
