Here is a list of things that David E Murray needs to turn his attention to as soon as PLG confirms that he has the tools in place to get us back to the top of the pile domestically and build on the very going showing in last seasons CL. Youth Development; Back on my high horse here ââ?¬â?? we urgently need to get this back under our own control. We urgently need to turn ââ?¬Ë?Murray Parkââ?¬â?¢ ââ?¬â?? which is essentially a training facility into a Youth Development Centre. We must hire the best coaches and the best scouts to ensure that we are getting the best crop of youngsters from all over the world. They must be houses and schooled at Murray Park. PR Department ; Again, another pet hate for many Rangers supporters. We urgently need to get an effective PR department that will challenge the lies, half-truths and innuendoes printed in the press. A PR Department that will represent Rangers and us the fans at anti-sectarian events and not allow our enemies to dictate the sectarian agenda. This PR Department would ideally be staffed by Rangers fans, and possibly run in conjunction with The RST and this Bear would nominate David Edgar as the new head of PR. Fans Groups ; The RST, TBO, FF, No1 Fanzine as well as the supporters association would all share the responsibility of liaising between the club and the fans. This would include inputs into stewarding (home, away and Europe), fans displays, travel, away ticketing prices / allocation etc. Also, this would include drawing up a schedule for first and second team players to represent the club at Supporters Clubs functions. Failure to attend would lead to fines. They would also work with the club to ensure that the Rangers Museum becomes a reality. Ticket Office ; Firstly, this would be moved from a port-a-cabin at the Craptic end to a permanent building within Ibrox. It would be managed and staffed by highly skilled and effective customer care professionals. After all, they are dealing with people who are spending hard earned cash to follow Rangers ââ?¬â?? they would be courteous, helpful and bend over to help the Rangers fans. Financial Growth This includes long-term business goals that will ensure the financial stability of the club for generations. It means the board of directors searching high and low for potential backers and when they have identified them, get them to put money into the club to help finance transfer, wages, youth development etc. Official Publications ; As said previously, these need a major overhaul and I would like to see the fans becoming involved in the authoring and publishing of articles from the Rangers News, Rangers TV, the match programme and the official web-site. Match Day Experience ; Supporters groups like TBO, CDL, CRL etc would be given access to Ibrox on a match day to place flags, banners, TIFO, etc all over stadium. The club would help pay and store ALL banners and these would be allowed to be draped over the stands for a certain time prior to kick-off and at half-time. The pre-match entertainment would be used to build up an atmosphere with the playing of Rangers songs like The Blue Sea Of Ibrox, Follow Follow, Every Other Saturday, Wolverhampton Town etc (the original version, not some raved up versions), with fans URGED to join in and wave flags, scarves, banners etc. So in summary, whilst congratulating David E Murray for capturing one of the best young managers in Europe, he still has a lot of work to do to make Rangers FC the club that we all want and deserve. But, it could be argued that his 'religion' has made him the person he is - in respect of his feelings for our club. Cammy F

Very raw, but from what I witnessed last season, maybe a better bet than Hutton (unless he screws the head, stops his big-time charlie routine and buckles down and learns from the coaching staff). Hutton is rated very highly but slipped on the rails last season after coming back from a nasty injury. Could be another one to slip thro the net. Cammy F

I agree that right back needs to be strengthed ASAP as Alan Hutton looks like he is closer to being the next Mo Ross than he is to being the next Sandy Jardine. Ricksen can't play at right back - he lacks the concentration, he lacks the comitment in tackling and hopefully he is on his way out of Ibrox. However, the need for a right back *may* mean that we have less money to purchase a centre-half, left sided midfiled player and the much touted striker. Expect further bosmans and or loan deals.... The Evening Times has looking at the Lyon right back Anthony Reveillere. PLG signed him for both Rennes and Lyon. Cammy F

I think if you look at the stats, McCormack did get as much, if not more of a chance that Jeffers and Nieto. Simply fact is that neither AM nor PLG rate him, they both can't be wrong - can they? Cammy F

Religion should NEVER be a reason for a player to be signed or not signed - however, would we be happy if we signed Neil Lennon knowing his feelings towards Rangers, Rangers fans, our history and traditions? I for one would HATE to see a wee scrote like Lennon pull on the famous blue jersey and would seriously rethink my support if we signed him or anyone else with 'that' reputation (no matter their religion). Best - Juve team that we BEAT 2-1 in 78 (I think) or as others have said, the Juve and Valencia teams that we played recently in the CL. The Valencia team that beat us in 79 or 80 that featured Mario kempes were also not a bad team. Worst - DAFC on a few occassions - they always seem to freeze at Ibrox and we were often defeating them 4,5,6-0 Cammy F

Basically news posted by SA Bears who were watching Rangers train today - Burke trod in a hole and went over on his ankle - lying on the ground in agony for 30 minutes, no stretcher at training so he was lifted into a car and taken to the team hotel. Cammy F

Looks like Burke has picked up what could be a serious injury http://followfollow.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1152610875 Cammy F

So, will the Tims be singing 'The Cry Was No Defenders'? Ok I'll get ma coat.... As for Lennon, I said to the younger Bears on the bus last season that seasons like that, make successful seasons more enjoyable and we certainly have a few scores to settle domestically this season. Bring on it Lennon ya wee bigoted tosspot Cammy F

Well, I phoned the ticket office yesterday to see if they could confirm what away games I had. The lassie was very unhalpfull saying that she would have to look on her PC.... Must have interupted her t-break or something. Anyway, I finally got her to look and after giving her my name and address, season ticket number, Rangers number, credit card number, NI number, vlood type, medical history, passport number, travel club number, driving license number, birth certificate, marriage license etc, she informed me that I wasn't a season ticket holder and wasn't entitled to an away allocation..... So, after convincing her that Rangers were taking money out of my account for 3 season tickets, that I had been a season ticket holder for 25 years, member of the travel club etc, she says 'looks like there is a problem'. NO shit Sherlock. I was put on hold - for 15 minutes (prime rate - all proceeds going to David E Murray), she came back on, said that some of the away allocations hadn't been added to the system and that I *might* get a letter this week confirming my allocation and she promptly hung up. No letter today and looks like another long summer trying to get the ticket office to do the fookin job. Cammy F

Pete, having attended MANY Orange Parades, it is not the OO members who behave like this, it is pissed up people wearing Rangers gear that follow the parade and or certain bands..... Anyway, we have veered of the topic - Andy posted a great thread about artifacts showing Rangers and Craptic being linked with religion and wanted to know if this was they way we should be portrayed. Firstly, congratulations to Rino on becoming a World Cup winner, the wee man had a very decent campaign and I am delighted for him. However, I reviewed todayââ?¬â?¢s Scottish media fully expecting (tongue firmly implanted in cheek) full page spreads, colour pull-outs etc dedicated to Rino as an ex-star of the Scottish game. I fully expected Graeme Speirs to be eulogising about Rino;s thighs in a Larsson-esque gay fantasy article. Well, to my surprise, Rinoââ?¬â?¢s affiliation to Rangers and the Scottish game hardly merited a mention ââ?¬â?? now, compare and contrast to the attention given to larsson after the CL final and in the build up to the Sweden v England game. As I posted the other week, maybe Rinoââ?¬â?¢s refusal to swap jerseys with a Craptic player or his comments that Craptic fans, resplendent in their crucifixes used to bore him to death with talk of religion during his stay in Glasgow hasnââ?¬â?¢t gone down too well with the TWATS (Tims With A Typewriter). That was the kids problem - I don't think there was anything special about him. Failed to impress when played in the first team and failed to impress when loaned out to Doncaster. Cammy F

Colshy, Rangers were established by a group of youths who loved the game and wanted to establish a football club - at that time, there was no link to any relgion or organisation. However, when the Irish migration started, the Protestants from NI and locally did chose Rangers, as Craptic were an established Catholic club. That is a very one-sided way of putting it - where in our history or tradition is it stated that we sing about being up to our kness in fenian blood or fucking the pope? UEFA wouldn't have a problem with our songs / history and tradition if we stuck to songs that celebrated 'our culture' whilst respecting others. Cammy F
