    todays game

Typical pre-season friendly to be honest that lost any edge it had when both teams started to make a number of subs early in the second half. Letizi looked commanding and had one very good save from a free-kick. His distribution seemed fair. Only concern is that after coming and collecting 2 corners / crosses early on, he stopped and it appeared to thro the defence into uncertainty. He resumed coming for and collecting again and look commanding again. Hutton is still a huge concern for the new season. He played very badly and appears to come very narrow when the play develops down his wing leaving open spaces down the side and in behind him. Smith has a solid game as we have come to expect from him. Svensson and R-Jod coped well with everything that they had to do and it'll take some time for them to develop an understanding and a partnership. Svensson looked and played like Amo to a certain degree - looked like he could make a mistake any minute! Clement, Sionko, Adam and Buffel had very decent games but IMO the standouts were Prso and Hemdami. N'Daiyi and Novo had decent games when they were introduced and N'Daiyi looks to have pace, strength and ability. Cammy F

  6. Labour MP's (and Tims to boot) stick up for Rangers and the fans - http://www.theherald.co.uk/politics/66323-print.shtml Cammy F
  7. Still we have plenty of criticsism, but no alternantives. Surely we aren't happy at the current public image of our club? Surely we all have ideas of how this can be changed? If not, frankly, we deserve everything we get. Cammy F
  8. Anything m8 - what ever song you'd like to see played when the team comes out the tunnel. Cammy F

  10. I actually got a chance to speak to him at length the following morning (long story, but boy was I gald!) and he seemed a very down to earth guy and as he was alone at the time, he took time to talk to me about life at Rangers and Everton - guy was gutted at what had happened to him at Rangers but he still held a great love for the club. I said to him that it was a shame that he couldn't even enjoy a quiet night out with his wife at an 'exclusive' retreat without getting hassle. He agreed and said yhou just had to accept it as part of the package of being a footballer. Anyway, I'll never forget and will always look back with pride and having had the opportunity to talk to him. Cammy F
  11. Good move for Wolves, the guy has a decent record of getting clubs promoted. Hopefully, for their sake, they'll sack him if / when he gets them promoted tho! Cammy F
  12. Aye, but he continued to get into bother when with Rangers. I actually felt sorry for DF as I witnessed fist hand what shit the guy had to put up with. We were on a company night out to Gleneagles (I know!) and DF was staying at the hotel with his wife (John Parrots sister). DF was at Everton when this happened. During the evening, the lad never got a minutes peace, with people asking him for autographs, photos, to buy him a pint etc and it was obvious that the guy just wanted a quiet night with his missus. Anyway, as the night got on, and DF was getting drunk and drunker, a sill dint barged into him on the dancefloor and called him a dirty orange bastard. DF to his credit left the dancefloor with his wife and went back to their table. later, the same bint walked past the table and throw a drink over DF and his wife - DF exploded and drew his hand back as if to strike the bint - IMO this was what she was wanting so she could report him - but instead of hitting out, he just laughed in her face. The management thro out the bint... Cammy F
  13. Pete, this is deviating away from the purpose of the thread - As a club, Rangers have strong presbyterian roots, this can not be denied. We have held Orange Order and Boys Brigade conventions in our stadium, and IMO that is NOTHING to be ashamed off. If you re-read my oringinal post, I said that we can hold these traditions as we move forward. There is nothing stopping us acknowledging these traditions whilst becoming the all-inclusive club that we are. These are not mutually exclusive, they can go hand-in-hand. What we need to do is educate those fans who use their supposed 'presbyterianism' as an excuse to 'hate' others and other peoples religion / believes etc. I don't think any Rangers fan can deny that we must do something to regain a 'positive' public image as we are wrongly being demonized. I put my arguements forward, they are far from perfect, but no one has put any alternate thoughts / process / actions etc. One thing we can't do is continue to sit back and do nothing. Cammy F
  14. Acht well, thanks for picking up on one tiny point in the thread - I take it you agree with the rest tho.... Cammy F - Martin Luther Loyal RSC

  16. Saw a bit of that last night - Durie is in his team along with Joan Collins Cammy F
  17. Well I certainly do - its due to this public image and the mhedia that we are currently in UEFA's sites - not a place we really want to be - continue to ignore the press, stands will be closed, we will be deducted points, relegated, etc... Never mind we'll have a Millwall song to make us feel better... Cammy F
  18. But for others it has - surely they have the right to express this link - it is not bigoted, it is not racist, it is not negative. Religion plays a small part in my life, but I chose to to tie it in with the football club I support, but I can see why others might. Anyway, we can agree to disagree on that point. Cammy F
  19. Doesn't he, or hasn't he worked for Rangers (RTV)...?? Cammy F
  20. This is the exact attitude we have to change - do we keep our mouths shut when journalists are claiming that we racially abused Mark Walters, or when they are joking about the Ibrox disaster, or writing lies about our players willing having their photos taken with terrorists? David Murray's and Rangers' dignified silence hasn't worked for the last decade, why do you think it is going to work now? The time for silence is over, it's time to take these lying fuckers to task. Can't agree - the RST manage to do it, so why can't an organisation the size of Rangers do it? We already have a PR Depertment that we shell out on for doing the square root of feck all.... Why is it irrelevant? It is part of who we are and where we have came from - its like saying that our Scottish identity is irrelevant.... Why should we have to? There is nothing sinister about our roots, our traditions and our history - why should we sacrifice them? We should be embracing them. Cammy F
  21. Currently, we are being portrayed, and seen as the BNP, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda of football and have a huge job to turn this perceived image around. However, this is a direct consequence of Dodgy Daveââ?¬â?¢s continued refusal to publicly back us, the Rangers support. For years, many media outlets in this country have openly lied about the actions of Rangers fans. From the supposed riots in Sunderland and Bradford to us cutting our pitch to resemble a sash to the annual criticisms of our kit, sections of the mhedia have shown their agenda ââ?¬â?? to demonise Rangers Football Club and itââ?¬â?¢s supporters. Now, I could go on and on about things that have been printed in certain papers by certain journalists, but I am aware that the Amazon rain-forests are running out of tress and I donââ?¬â?¢t want this blamed on Rangers fansââ?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦. Anyway, itââ?¬â?¢s safe to say that we all know the main culprits and their many lies and innuendos. I have to interject here and discuss the UEFA decision and that by not challenging this, David Murray has given our enemies ammunition and by god are they using it to their advantage. The RST rightly said that only through education and not condemnation could we change attitudes, they are right, but it is a pity the media donââ?¬â?¢t see it this way. We are working to eradicate some of the songs and chants that are heard at Ibrox and elsewhere, and after the UEFA decision we were promised that the club would take the lead and inform us what we can sing and how they were going to promote and celebrate our proud history and tradition. Linfield Football Club have, through community work, education and PR positively created an inclusive club which still promotes and celebrates itââ?¬â?¢s loyalist roots. We could learn a thing or two from Linfield. In a recent Sunday rag, they told the journalist all of the above and came out with some good press. Meanwhile, David Murray sits in his office counting our cash whilst allowing everyone and their dog to have a go at us. The latest is the Daily Record and their take on why the Bolton friendly was cancelled. Now, as I have said previously, compare his ââ?¬Ë?dignified silenceââ?¬â?¢ to attacks on US to his fast, strong and legal attacks on anyone who dares question Mr Murray or his suntanned mukka Mr Bain. In all honesty, I am at the stage where I believe that Murrayââ?¬â?¢s malaise has spread to a majority of the support who either donââ?¬â?¢t care what is written about us, or worse, actually believe what is written about us. So, what can we do? That is the $64,000 question. Firstly, we have to openly admit and embrace our past ââ?¬â?? we are a football club who represent the Protestant traditions in Scotland and further afield. This is NOTHING to be ashamed off ââ?¬â?? it should be celebrated. However, we are an inclusive club who welcome fans / players / employees no matter their colour, creed or religion. Secondly, we have to convince our fans that by celebrating our Presbyterianism, this doesnââ?¬â?¢t mean disrespecting other religions. Thirdly, we have to do this publicly whilst fighting our corner in the media. That will require a PR Department that will rapidly respond to any inaccuracies that are published in the media. By doing this, we will show that we mean business and the journalists will be treated with respect, only if they treat us with respect and fairly ââ?¬â?? after all that is all we ask. Can this be achieved? Yes and easily. However, can it be achieved with David Murray at the helm? I seriously think not ââ?¬â?? this is going to get worse before it gets better unless Murray acts and acts swiftly ââ?¬â?? over to you Mr Chairman. Cammy F

  23. It gets better, the more you read about them - this is classic ; "We are a predominatly left-wing, pro-Republican, anti-fascist group.'' So much for - We are an all-inclusive group. And on their messageboards they are trying to drum up support for songs about the Ibrox disaster - They All Fell Down The Stairs (repeat) and If You Cannae Do The Tumble Your A Tim... Typical vermin.
