  1. No links, but have heard that Lazio *may* make an offer for Alan Hutton. I have been one of Huttons critics, but IMO this would be a great move for the lad - a chance to play in one of Europe's top leagues and experience a different culture (drink and food wise) - this could be the making of the lad. It's hardly like there is anything 'exciting' and 'promising' happening down Ibrox way that would / could convince him to stay at Rangers. Hutton has improved vastly over the last 6-8 months and it appears clubs are starting to express an interest in him Cammy F
  2. I have never said it was 'less offensive' - you could find an offensive lyric in the majority if not all songs sung at football grounds and in most national anthems - I only mentioned FOS to show how fooking stupid this 'ruling' from the Scottish Exec is. Cammy F
  3. Without wanting to get into a political and historical debate, but the 'anti-scottish' line from GSTQ has been dropped (it was in the 100th verse or something - and it was 'rebelious scots to crush' - not anti-scottish per-sa). I reitterate, there must be a better representative song that we (Scotland) can have as a 'national anthem' - Scotland The Brave, A Scottish Soldier, Scots WhaHae (sp), Highland Cathedral etc, etc, etc.... Anyway, back to the topic, it is rule that can never be managed - its as simply as that. Cammy F
  4. It is only my opinion that FOS is a 'dirge' - there are so many better songs that celebrate our history, culture etc more positively than a FOS. Not liking FOS isn't anti-Scottish, Anti-Jacobean nor is it some henious crime - I don't like the song, I believe it to be anti-English and not the song I'd chose to promote my 'Scottishness'. Cammy F
  5. Exactly - that is that reason why this will be unmanageable or will lead to every ground in Scotland being closed and every team deducted points. As Frankie said in the original article, is it any less offensive to sing 'up to our kness in /Ayr/Killie/Hibee etc blood' than ****** blood? Singing 'In Your Glasgow Slums' and 'You Are A Weedgie' are also offensive. Where will the madness end? Cammy F

    Martin Bain

Off course he did - he actually PROMOTED Bain into his current role. Cammy F
  7. Frankie, a well put together and well reseached article. Maybe it is worth emailing it to certain media outlets, NBM and the Scottish Exec and pushing them for a comment. We all know that you'll not get a peep out of them, but it is worth highlighting the above and highlighting the hypocrosy in the 'sectarian debate' in Scotland and Jhoke McConnells definition of 'One Scotland, Many Cultures'. Cammy F
  8. Will we ever be successful in the transfer market with Martin Bain as our 'negotiator'? I for one believe that as this man cares not one iota about Rangers, he isn't the man to be discussing transfer fees and wages to potential players and their representatives. He should be removed forth-with and replaced by a 'footballing person' who has Rangers long-term interests at heart and who is helped identify targets by a scouting network. It is too late to empoly Gordon Smith in this role and I don't know if Campbell Ogilvie would come back as he was shafted by Murray / Bain. So, here is my suggestion - I would employ Graeme Souness in this role and would employ ex-players like Laudrup, Albertz, Numan, Mols, Wilkins, Klos, Prso etc as 'scouts' - these players are well respected in their homelands and would be ideal people to represent us across Europe and beyond. Thewy would also be well placed to spot a player and would have insiders who could also tip them of players who are coming to end of contracts and looking for moves etc. This would take time and money to establish, so under Murray would be a non-starter, but we can but dream.... 9. I think this is to do with 'sponsers'. When we our tops were made by Nike, I was in Toronto 8 years ago and Rangers tops were in every sports shop you went into over there (no Tim tops anywhere). Was over last year and didn't see a Rangers top in any shop (and not many Tim tops either to be honest - mostly English and European team tops). IIRC, I am sure that when Nike made our tops, you could buy a Rangers top (plus most other 'big clubs' made by Nike) in Barca's superstore..... Since we have moved to 'making our own' and using Umbro then our exposure has dwindled. IMO, another 'short-term' move by the board which has seen an initial investment (which all went to Murray as per) but may turn out to be may harmfull in the long term. Cammy F
  10. Because it could be classed as 'anti-English' - we can't have that now can we? Cammy F
  11. Well, if this nonsensical legislation goes thro, we'll not have any football to watch. Part of the 'tribal' ideals of following football is to have certain songs / chants etc that 'wind up' the oppo. So no more of 'every support that we play' singing 'In your Glasgow Slums' and 'You Are A Weedgie'. No more 'Flower Of Scotland', 'We Hate Jimmy Hill as he appears to be gay' - every ground in the country will be closed and every team will have zero points. What next, someone in the Scottish Exec to listen to and ban any 'pop' records it deams 'descriminatory'? Cammy F

Rumours on FF that the mystery striker is Mido who could sign as early as tomorrow - don't you just love pre-season.... Cammy F
  14. Saw him coming out of Ibrox after the game we won the league at Parkhead with his wife/bird - to say he was 'worse for wear' is an understatement - he did pass out some booze to the Bears that were hanging around!!!! A strange one is Dougray Scott - his uncle worked with a girl I knew and told us all that Scott was a Bear - we even met up with him on a night out and he confirmed that he was a big Rangers fan. next thing I know he's on the telly telling everyone he is a Hibby. A very strange fellow. Last time I seen Travis the guitarist had a RFC scarf tied to his guitar..! Cammy F

    Feinduno

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=468575&CPID=24&clid=152&lid=11&title=Verts+cool+Feinduno+talk&channel=& An exciting article on Feinduno on FF from a guy who follows French football and is located in France. The French press believe that Rangers have made an approach for the player and are in prime position to sign him if he leaves St Eitenne. Fee could be around £2.5-£3M plus Sionko. Cammy F
  18. Agree that Smith has to be considered the long term left back, but he has struggled with injuries and we need cover and experience in that position - something that Konchesky offers and at £600K, it is a decent deal. I actually wouldn't mind letting Ian Murray go, imo he hasn't done anything in his time at Rangers to suggest that he can hold down a regular starting slot (in any position). Papac has improved of late, but again, I can't see him staying long term - we are going to be well covered in defence and maybe he is a luxuary that we can't afford at the moment Agreed...! Cammy F
  19. Fantastic point - we need quality and the names above (and those that we have signed) may turn into great players, but they are not what is required to transform us into a great (and winning) team. Sign enough run of the mill SPL players and we'll turn into a run of the mill SPL team.... Cammy F
  20. and also interested in ex-Ger Stevie Hughes http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/6676697.stm Also reported on STV tonight that they (Hearts) are interested in Naismyth as WS is no longer interested. Cammy F
  21. I think the lack of character can be traced back to the last days of the DA era - in his last season, there was a very evident lack of character in the squad, something that AMc managed to turn round quickly to win 5 trophies in succession - a feat that looks more impressive every passing season. This is one of the seemingly 100's of issues that needs to be addressed urgently at Rangers (on and off the field - we haven't had a board member with 'character' since David Holmes) and I am heartened to read that WS says that in this close season, he is after 'winners'. Cammy F
  22. All the current noises coming out of Ibrox are hardly encouraging. We do not have much money to spend in the transfer market (we should have, according to the powers that be, PLG never used his entire budget in the summer and only half was used at Christmas - add that to the money we'll save on wages and transfer fees, plus the season ticket money and JJB deal - oh aye, I forgot that all of that is earmarked for SDM hip pocket). It looks like another pre-season of raking around in the bargain basement area of the transfer market and the Bosman market. Like shopping for anything, a few gems can be found in the 'lower end markets', but as the old saying goes, you only get what you pay for. Off the pitch, we are in utter shambles - simply put, and I can't say this often enough, we are run by a liar, cheat and robber, and a band of yes men that care not one jot about Rangers Football Club, or this 'imaginary' Rangers family. Another season of 2nd best (at best) awaits us and this will never change until a new board with vision, goals, ambition and a love of Rangers Football Club in their hearts is installed. Cammy F
  23. As we revealed last week, Smith has targeted Osasuna defender Carlos Cuellar, and today his Iranian midfield team-mate Javid Nekounam stated Rangers wanted him as well. Espanyol striker Walter Pandiani has also been linked in a £1m move, but Smith would not be drawn. And, as we told you last Wednesday, Smith has been offered West Ham left back Paul Konchesky. He was in Glasgow for the Uefa Cup Final and stayed on for talks with Rangers and Smith will use this week to decide on any £600,000 bid. -------------------------------------------- Cammy F
  24. Shit game, but brilliant winning goal. Cammy F

We also defeated Timmy 8-1 during this period - Oh, and if Timmy says the game 'didn't count', ask them why they include their goal in their official statistics.... Cammy F
