Just heard Donald Gorries response to this - Donald Gorrie who was quoted as saying that religion has no place in football says these charges are rediculous. Now, now Donald, you either want ALL religious things removed from football or none at all - make up you mind - typical Lib Dem...! PS - this shows how farcical these UEFA charges and 'Scotland's Secret Shame' laws are. Cammy F

Just finished - basically said that we will continue to play our pre-match music but will slowly introduce more 'old' and 'traditional' Rangers songs, starting with Wolverhampton Town tomorrow Cammy F -

IMO, too much is placed on the countries co-efficient - after all, it is the clubs co-efficient that is most important - hence Craptic being seeded in pot 2 for the CL group stages. Cammy F

For me, regaining domestic supremacy is vital this season - we are Scotland's No1 club and we have to regain this crown - so that means winning the league and winning it in style - anything else will be a bonus. Cammy F

IMO, even with a great team and team effort, one or two players will always stand-out and will have to if we are going to be successful. By that I mean the keeper may have an inspired 2-3 games when we review the season and we'll indentify those games as 9 points he got us. Also, one player may score 30+ goals this season and that might be the reason we win the league, or a player could assist in 50 goals per season. To win the league you must have had a great squad effort as no one player will single-handedly win you the league, he needs others around him to help. It just seems that one player is been outstanding, but that player will always say that it was a team effort. For me, our defence is crucial to us this season - we have a midfield and forwards that will always score goal - so if we can keep it tight at the back and build a foundation from there, we will be fine. Good article in the Evening Times about him - praise from Dr Jo (remember him ) and from ex-Jambo Thomas Flogal - Flogal says that once the guy is off and running, he won't be caught - he is a train... Welcome to the family Sebo http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk Cammy F

The most impressive thing is the age of the squad (and AM takes some credit for that as well). Most players in their early to mid-20's and players like Hutton, Burke, Smith and Boyd have all gotten experience and know what it takes and means to play for Rangers. If the new players can intigrate into the squad and the culture quickly, I think we have really exciting times ahead. Cammy F

This is not a post getting at anyone, but I thought that the start of a new season, with a new manager, new regime, new players, new system etc and with UEFA's sights firmly set on us, that the Rangers Chat would be very busy. I thought we'd have people discussing the new players, the new manager, the new system etc, but it's all very quiet in here. However, you pop into the Bluenose Lounge and the posts and threads are popping up all over the place.... So come on folks, lets get some topics of Rangers related conversation started.. Cammy F

Read a thread on another forum where the question was asked, when was the proudest moment being a Rangers fan. Most of the answers brought back great memories, our great truimphs, last-gasp victories etc. However, one poster said that his proudest moment came at Tannidice the day we lost 10-in-a-row. After thinking about it, I can see where the guy is coming from and I agree with him. I vividly remember standing in the Fair Play Stand, applauding the players (who were in tears) from the pitch with every last one Rangers supporter that day singing the hearts out. Following Rangers isn't all about winning, following Rangers isn't about supporting 'any' football team... Cammy F - Lump In Throat Loyal RSC

In all honesty, that is hard to argue with. I have been to see West Brom on numerous occassions, especially when they were in the championship - most of their games are like watching pub teams - its not a great standard, but as a 'fan' you kind of ignore that and try and support your team. I can only go on what I have encountered - visiting Leeds, Birmingham, London, Wycombe, Sheffield etc regularly, I have had no problems with people talking about Scottish football. One thing that I will say, when I was last in Sheffield, I was invited to the local derby and have found one derby that is more 'hate-filled' than the OF - the town centre was a no-go area from the whole weekend - Mon The Wednesday... Just reading a thread over on FF about a guy who reported Crapticminded wedsite to NBM for celebrating terrorists. He received a reply from NBM that started with - we know that Follow Follow has a history of sectarian.... blah, blah, blah... That's right, the guy complained about Terroristminded (oops) and received a reply about Follow Follow - NBM - a fookin sham. Cammy F

Just sent this letter to Britney and I wonder if I'll get a response ; Dear Mr Speirs. I thought that I would contact you as you are the self-appointed anti-sectarian chief at The Herald. I stumbled across a website last night where fans from an OF club openly admitted to singing sectarian songs (and have been doing so for over a year now, at every home game). The identity of these fans may shock you, so I hope you are sitting down. According to the Craptic Quick News site, sectarian singing is rife at Parkhead, a claim that flies in the face of your previous articles that led the world to believe that all sectarian singing at Parkhead had been eradicated. I am hoping that in pointing this out to you, and in your guise as the anti-sectarian guru, you will dedicate as many column inches to these revelations as you do to the perceived sectarian problem at Ibrox. In fact, I hope that these first-hand confessions could be the start of a dossier that you could compile and hand to your friends at UEFA? As the self-appointed anti-sectarian guru, I assume that you crusade against sectarianism is even-handed, so you will admit to harbouring sectarian singers and inform the reading world that Craptic do indeed have a problem with sectarian singing inside their home ground and a problem with their home support as well as their travelling support. In the interests of fairness, I hope that you bring these crimes to the attention of the equally unbiased and impartial NBM and hope to hear you on various phone-ins expressing your disgust at these sectarian songs being sung at Parkhead. However, you should maybe stay away from phone-ins if the RST are there, they have a history of making you look like a fool Mr Speirs and a peddler of half-truths, innuendos and down-right lies. Anyway, the thread you are looking for can be located at the following URL - http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/200...ltic-for.shtml Yours in football, Cammy F

Simple question - would you prefer Rangers to win the CL or Scotland (or whoever your nation of choice is) to win the World Cup? As the song goes, It's Rangers for me
-
I will be rooting for them as if they make it, the CL money will need to be split with the Tims and it means more games for them. Oh, and I can not stand AEK and their scum fans. Cammy F

No, because as a Rangers fan, I want them humped every game they play. Should we feel pride in England winning the world cup as it shows British football up in a good light and stops other belittling us? Plus, when have Craprtic ever classed themselves as 'Scottish'? The tone in which the Tim posted his bile on the Pompy fans website meant that he was going to get ripped - if a fan of another club posted a post like that on here, he would rightly get ripped. Craptic and Rangers are 'bigger' clubs than Portsmouth, but since we do not play in the same league as them it is hard to judge. Would you say that Rangers and Craptic are bigger clubs than Madrid, Milan, Barca etc? We have won mopre trophies than them, so are we 'bigger' than them? It's impossible to make a like for like comperison. As I have said, my own personal experience with English football fans is that they are knowledgalble about Scottish football and in the main, don't mind Scotland doing well and most, if not all, express an interest in coming to see Rangers. If that is belittling us, long may it continue. When I had a season ticket in the main stand, there were 4 guys from Manchester who sat in the rown in front of me - they travelled up for every home game, including mid-week. They were born and bred in Manchester and found following Man U too expensive. They went to The Towers to watch Craptic one game and received abuse for being English - the next week, they came up to Ibrox and couldn't believe the reception they got and how cheap it was to watch Rangers (in comparison to Old Trafford) and promptly bought 4 season tickets. 3 of them were Catholic but all 4 loved watching Rangers and as far as I know, they are still there. There are many other English fans who travel week-in week-out to see Rangers, hardly belittling us are they? Cammy F

Just saw this on another forum and thought that I'd post it here - a great read and shows more unbiased, fair and impartial reporting from Legget; --------------------- The Myth of Mart?s Celtic dominance To the Camelot of King Arthur and the Loch Ness Monster must be added the legend of Martin O?Neill?s dominance of Scottish football for the last five years. For as far as fables go that one is right up there with the Knights of the Round Table, not to mention auld Nessie herself. And if it continues to go unchecked then the myth will grow into a warped reality, especially for those seeming illiterates who cannot consult the record books. Not to mention those who may not be sufficiently numerate to be able to work out the mathematics of those five seasons during which Celtic and their fans were completely under the spell of the Ulsterman. Therefore, for the record, let this column state, of the 15 domestic trophies which were competed for, O?Neill?s Celtic won 7. That is precisely the same amount of silverware captured by Rangers since the summer of 2000. And before those of a Parkhead persuasion point to the 3 championships included in the O?Neill haul to just 2 taken by Rangers, let?s examine another aspect. During the 3 full seasons which saw O?Neill and McLeish in direct confrontation, Rangers won 2 titles to Celtic?s single success. In fact, in the half of the season to play out when McLeish took over at Ibrox in December 2001 ? with O?Neill having outstripped Dick Advocaat by 14 points ? Rangers beat Celtic in the semi-final of the League Cup on their way to winning that trophy, and then in the final of the Scottish Cup. Therefore, the fact of the matter is that while Celtic enjoyed greater overall silverware success under O?Neill than at any time since the Jock Stein era, they were far from being the dominant force. Indeed of the eleven trophies at stake during the O?Neill-McLeish rivalry, the Scot took 7 to the Ulsterman?s mere 3! But if the true measure of domination is to be taken as the championship ? as it must ? then O?Neill?s record of 3 titles in 5 years is exactly the same as Billy McNeill achieved between 78 and 83. Big Billy also lifted 2 Scottish Cups and a League Cup for a haul of 6 trophies, just one fewer than O?Neill, yet nobody spoke of dominance then. In his first 5 full campaigns, Jock Stein won the title every year for Celtic, while over a comparable period Walter Smith did exactly the same with Rangers. Now that is dominance and puts any outlandish claims for O?Neill and his misguided disciples firmly into the context of history. No doubt those poor souls will hark back to Seville and quote it in the manner of some Holy Grail. Let this column therefore put that into historical context too, and remind them O?Neill and Celtic actually lost. Stein never harked back to the losing 1970 European Cup Final, and neither did Scot Symon, who took Rangers to the ECWC Finals of both 1960 and 67, only to end like O?Neill, a second best loser. What O?Neill?s greatest achievement as Celtic manager seems to have been was to give the club?s supporters back a guid conceit of themselves. Though as so few appear to see themselves as Scottish as their great Lisbon Lions captain, that phrase may not strike a chord with them. Restoring self esteem to the green and white hordes was in itself a mammoth task, and for achieving it O?Neill must be congratulated. Just 2 titles in the 14 years before his arrival had left Celtic and their supporters bereft of anything except bluster. That though is a major positive side of the legacy which MON left at Parkhead. On the negative side is the fact he allowed a team to grow old together. And in building that team he switched from the traditional slick passing Celtic style to a bruising bullying brigade of big men. That those many Celtic fanatics have long romanticised about the way they like to see their team play, accepted it goes a long way to underlining my point about lack of self esteem. But it is in the darker reaches of what may have gone on within Parkhead that there must be suspicion about the legacy left by this complicated, brooding Ulsterman. One London journalist who claims a close friendship with him, and who only last week alleged he was being touted as the next England manager by senior FA sources, recently wrote that MON was a conspiracy theorist. This view did not come as a surprise to those of us who observed him at close quarters for 5 years. MON has often given the impression of a man who could spot a grassy knoll at half a mile ? even without his specs. Indeed, just before he took his leave of Glasgow, he made some strange and disturbing remarks claining there were personal vendettas against him. He certainly seemed to know all about vendettas and gave one a new lease of life with his treatment of linesman Andy Davis at the Scottish Cup Final when it looked as though he refused to shake the official?s hand at the end. Then there was his infamous BBC interview when he would not answer a straight question about whether he felt he could have an influence on sectarian behaviour by making a direct appeal to Celtic supporters. This column has always taken the view ? and it is not alone ? that MON always seemed to believe any sectarian problem was not Celtic?s fault. Perhaps that was something to do with the fact of which side of the Ulster divide MON was brought up in. But here is where the water becomes too deep to enter. In fact, down in such murky depths lurks more danger than even Nessie. And she is one of the few bigger myths in Alba than the one about MON?s dominance of Scottish football.
