What else can be done is capturing experience players on Bosmans. AM had some limited success in this market (Frank De Boer, Prso, Boumsong (if we are to believe the mint that he was a bosman!!!) etc). Craptic have done this with Vinger of Castlemilk, why shouldn't we be looking at bringing decent, experience European players in on Bosmans? Klos will leave at the end of the season freeing up £35K per week on wages - more than enough to secure a Vinger of Castlemilk type player. Unfortunately, having a team full of 'promising' Scottish youngsters isn't going to see us dominate Scottish football for decades nor will it see us progressing in Europe, especially in the CL. Rangers IMO should be setting our sights a lot higher. If Rangers had, when DA left, invested heavily in the youth academy, we would be bearing fruit at this point. What I mean by that is setting up academies world wide and bringing the best players from all over to Ibrox. We would still be in the same position on the field, but we would have a shit load of players ready to break into the first team. Unfortunately, David Murray doesn't do 'forward thinking' Cammy F

Especially in Europe, I'd have Lovenkrands thro the middle with someone like Prso playing alongside him. Lovenkrands offered pace and 'directness' and Prso offers intelligence, guile (sp), flicks, off the ball runs, link up play etc. Cammy F

Yes - as IMO he is more likely to score the 'important' goals than any other striker we have. His intelligent runs, flicks, passes (which no other striker we have can offer) can also unlock defences and set up midfield runners like Fergie. His overall play and experience his what is required tomorrow evening. As Gribz says, for us to progress, Prso simply has to play. BTW, this is not a slight on any other player, simply putting our best 11 on the pitch giving us the best opportunity to advance in the UEFA Cup. Cammy F

So do those of us who advocate a 'dignified silence' to these reptiles still think its the correct way to deal with them? Well done Frankie, the RST and the 100's of Bears who take these tossers to task when they write drival about us, our fans, our culture and the club we love. Cammy F

Yip, and he offers SO MUCH MORE than any other stiker we have on our books. Cammy F

I think Weir has stated that he intends to end his career at the end of the current season - maybe WS can change his mind, but we need defensive cover so Papic or Svensson may stay. Like Gribz, I am not overwhelmed by the recent signings and the names being banded about for the summer do not impress me either. Can a team of players like Smith, Hutton, Burke, Adam, Boyd etc ensure we win back OUR title? I am not confident that they can. With Prso and Novo looking likely to also leave in the summer, we need a major cash injection to ensure that those who leave are replaced by BETTER players and with such a young squad, we'll need some experienced players in their to help them out. However, I won't be surprised if all we sign during the close season is players like Broadfoot, Gow, McCulloch (who I rate), McDonald et al. It wouldn't surprise me if we lose out on Brown due to the continued penny-pinching. Cammy F

If you are looking for a natural left sided player, then it has to be Adam - no other player can be considered, if we are 'not forcing players to play out of position'. I was tempted to go for Adam in my 11, but thought Thomson was more solid. IMO, with hindsight, Frasers team looks like the one that I would go for and would guess WS will go for something similar. Only change likely would be Boyd form the start instead of Prso. Cammy F
-
That could well be the team that WS plumps for, and it isn't the worst team he could put out on Thursday. Cammy F
-
No - the reason being, as it was in my thoughts in the last round, we need to score at least 2 goals without conceeding. Novo and Prso are IMO more likely to score in Europe and more importantly, they offer more defensively than Boyd. Plus, again only IMO Prso is wasted 'out left' as is Novo 'out right'. A solid 4-4-2 with Burke offering width and supply to 2 strikers and Thomson and Hendami offering cover for the back 4 as Osusuna will play on the break. Adam is unlucky not to be picked as even tho his overall play can be poor, his delivery from set-pieces could be the key to us unlocking the Spaniards rear-guard. Cammy F

I'd Play Klos Hutton Weir Ugo Murray Hendami Thomson Fergie Burke Novo Prso Cammy F

M8, you have missunderstood what the guy is saying - he is attacking Irish people for attaching themselves to a Scottish (sectarian) Club due to non-footballing issues. He isn't ripping into Sligo Rovers for being Irish, or singing Irish songs. Completely different from OUR press attacking OUR songs. Cammy F

I wasn't, as the article states in its opening paragraph, we are as bad as each other, but everything the author states about Timmy is spot-on - honest, journos? that'll never catch on here in Scotland. Cammy F
-
Can you imagine an article like this ever appearing in a Scottish Newspaper? Cammy F

Novo is out of contract at the end of the season and no new deal has been offered. That suggests that the management team are considereing letting him go. Cammy F
-
I think we'll go for a coupple of strikers as it looks likely that both Novo and Prso will be off at the end of the season. Cammy F

Gerry McNee is a rambling idiot who, thanks to the fantastic efforts of the RST is being outed as the anti-Rangers BIGOT that he is. If only the club could come out with such an accurate statement and ban him from Ibrox. Once again well done to the lads and lassies of the RST and Mr Murray, you could do worse than employ these people to handle the press and their lies. Cammy F

Yes, that is indeed what they want - they realise that the Irish rugby team attracts support from both sides of the border and they don't like this. Oh another ironic slur by Timmy is when they burst into the Irish national anthem. According to the 'republicans', the biggest insult you can give is singing it in English, just as Timmy does every week. Honestly, if Timmy didn't exsist, you couldn't make them up. Cammy F

The demonstration was to stop 'foriegn games' being played at Croke Park in Dublin - 'foriegn games' include rugby and soccer..... so Timmy thought it be a great idea to go along with a soccer top and tracky on and with a sign written in a 'foriegn language'. Now that's irony.. no? Cammy F

Last week I had a bit of a 'political rant' that should up how confused Timmy is when it comes to politics. Below is a photo from a demonstration outside Croke Park on Saturday that sums Timmy up better than a 1,000,000 words could. Said Timmy was taking part in a SF sponsered demonstartion that also attracted the Oirish equivelent of the BNP (who's catchphrase is Oirland for the Oirish - who have seen themselves lambasted by the Irish broadsheets recently, especially during the 'Love Ulster' parades and subsequent riots). Anyway, have a wee look at Typical Timmy and laugh your socks of (his sign is even in a 'foriegn language').... Cammy F

Oh BTW, that other shit team we beat from Israel earlier in the comp just knocked out CSKA Moscow :admin: And the mob we beat last night destroyed PSG in paris 5-2 in the group stages... Cammy F

Sitting in the Broomie Front (BF2 N41) I didn't see any 'saluting' at all. When RB was getting belted out, most put either both hands in the air, or held their scraves/flags as they sung. I have looked through most of the papers today, as cynical old me was expecting to see us ripped for 'salutes' and our 'British Union Celebrations' but ALL papers have actually reacted positively to our behavior last night. I think Mark Hateley described Boyd brilliantly - he said - He's a goal of a start then like playing with 10 men Cammy F

Surely that peformance from Barry F last night put any questions about his ability, desire, skill, determination etc to bed - the lad was simply magnificant. I didn't notice this until this morning, but none of PLG's signings started the game last night.... Mentions also to Hutton, Hendami, Burke and Novo. Now Novo isn't the greatest player, but by fook does he give you a shift (plus he set up the opening goal brilliantly). Not getting carried away, but that has to be the best performance of the season (so far). Cammy F
