  1. The team is the most important, of that there is no doubt. However, can you honestly say that PLG's team, with or without BF was 'going places'? Ask yourself this, if in any of SDM businesses, an 'underling' was casuing friction, who would SDM sack? The (rumoured) disruptive 'underling' or the manager? I can be argued that the PLG 'faction' were blinded by the likes of Graeme Speirs' of this world who portrayed Fergie as the bad boy and PLG as the innocent 'foriegner' who was being under-mind by big bad Fergie. PLG lost his job at Rangers due to piss poor results, piss poor performances, piss poor signings and a piss poor understanding of English and the Scottish game. BF had NO influence on any of the above and to blame him for PLG's sacking is rediculous. For me, the worst moment in 34 years of supporting Rangers was losing at home to St Johnstone, the first time in our history that we have ever lost to a lower league team at home in a cup tie. I suppose the 'barry haters' will find away to blame BF for this defeat as well as global warming, 3rd world debt and the Iraq conflict. Cammy F
  2. Ah, but the difference is, the players mentioned had VERY good players alongside them. Look at Fergie's performances when he had players like Mols, RDB, Lovenkrands, Arteta et al besides him (Firsts To 50 Video). As for a goal scoring midfield player, IIRC, only Albertz outscores Fergie on that count. All about opinions. Cammy F
  3. Christ, this is SCOTLAND where it can snow in July - anyway Fraser, at your age, you should be able to go to the footie in just your top in any weather that is above -25oC Cammy F
  4. Anyone who wears 'ra hoops' ..... Cammy F
  5. So the dressing room would vote him out? Didn't you see the celebrations at the Motherwell game? Boyd and his '6 finger salute'? Haven't you read that even seasoned pro's like Prso backed Fergie as even he knew that PLG had lost the dressing room? As a Rangers fan, it is clearly fashionable to 'dislike' Barry Ferguson as he is an easy target for those who think PLG was going to 'turn us around' as PLG aand his allies in the media painted BF as public ememy No1. As for us being a better team WITHOUT Fergie, I just can't agree with that. Now, for the record, I don't 'like' Fergie, but would have him in my team before Hendami, Thompson, Adam, Burke, Gow, Brown et al. He is, IMO the only player in the current squad that can / could be classed alongside the great players who have graced Ibrox recently - Gazza, laudrup, Albertz, Gio, RDB etc. In fact, Gazza still reckons that BF is one the the best players he has played with. Cammy F
  6. 3 managers have made him captain of Rangers - am I the only one that thinks all 3 can't be wrong? We will never know the real reasons for Fergie leaving for Blackburn. The cynic in me says that Fergie was sold to keep the banks away from our doors, and I'll believe that until Mr Murray can prove otherwise. So as captian, Fergie should ignore the pleas from the dressing room and be a yes man to a manager who had clearly lost the dressing room and some would argue, the plot? We were DIRE under PLG, the players couldn't understand his team-talks and our form was horrendous. The Captain is the lynch-pin from dressing room to manager. To think/state/believe that Fergie was the demise of PLG is unbelievable. PLG last his job due to piss poor signings and piss poor form - a man working his ticket and happy to leave Rangers. So we transfer Fergie and who do we replace him with? Name ONE player who has the skill, drive and determination of BF that is in our 'transfer bracket'? Name ONE player who would put his health and career on the line, take pain killing injections that made them ILL for 3 days after matches to pull on the blue jersey? Barry Ferguson isn't anyones cup of tea, but by fook he is the best player we have by a country mile. Back to the topic in hand, and WS record. Yes it is decent and yes we are now 'hard to beat', but over a season, is that going to be good enough to win the league? I'd argue, with us losing players like Buffel, Prso, Novo and possibley Hendami, we aren't good enough to win the league. Players like Gow and Broadfoot aren't better replacements, its as simple as that. We are short in too many key areas and IMO have only one good player (see above) surrounded by run-of-the-mill SPL players. Remove BF and we have 11 run-of-the-mill SPL players. Is that good enough to win the title, very, very, very unlikely. Cammy F
  7. There is an undoubted bias in the Scottish media against Rangers and everything we stand for. This can actually be traced further than the press and into the political spectrum. Far too many Bears are niave to this, continuing to purchase the gutter rags and voting for Scottish labour. Below is an example of the bias in the press - can you imagine The Scum or Retard printing this photo? Yet they have no problems printing photos, stories, half-truths and downright lies regarding Rangers players, staff and fans... As Frankie says, we can be extremly proud of our far we have come as a support recently, but no matter how well we do, there are some (in the media and in politics) that won't be happy until we there is no Rangers (yet we are the bigots).
  8. .. again, about 4 weeks to late, but raises some very good points - http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/darrylboadfoot/display.var.1315619.0.0.php Cammy F
  9. Due to lack of funds, most of the 'crap' will have to stay and it already looks like next season will be as bleak as this and last season.... McGregor isn't the greatest, but he is decent standard and as we need money for elsewhere, he stays as No1. Same applies to Hutton and Smith. Hutton has improved lately, but still doesn't fill me with confidence. Smith, on his game is a good player - we'll just need to hope that they continue to improve. Looks like Papac and Svensson are offski so that leaves Weir, UE and Webster and I'd say that means we have cover and wouldn't need another centre half until next season. Midfield is where we require strengthening. We have Burke, Adam, Hendami, Fergie, Rae and Thompson. IMO Hendami, Fergie and Thompson are too similar and can't play in the same team. All 3 are very good players so it is hard to see who drops out - my guess is Hendami will be sold to release extra cash/wages. It looks like we are after Brown and McCulloch. Up front we are losing Prso and possibley Novo so that leaves Buffel, Sebo (who are offski) and Boyd. We urgently require strikers with pace. Healy has been mentioned, but unless Leeds get relegated, we won't be able to afford him. I admit that Koevermans looks like a decent target and hopefully this transfer will happen. So given all that and given our limited transfer budget, he is my starting 11 for next season ; McGregor Hutton Weir Webster Smith Brown Fergie Thompson McCulloch Boyd (healy) Koevermans Again, as a first 11, that isn't great, but it'll be hard to beat. However, one or two injuries and it looks at lot more fragile. Cammy F

    Dire times

It is not like we can't purchase class players in the market we are shopping in. A prime example was Boumsong, if the right people are employed in the correct capacity, then there is no reason that we can't still unearth 'diamonds' in the Bosman and lower end of the transfer market. Another example is Blackburn snapping up Benni McCarthy for £2.5M, an absolute steal and a player with a proven record domestically and in the Champions League. The problem we have is not having the right people employed at our club. At the very top of the tree, we have a man who simply doesn't have Rangers in his heart, or our best interests in his mind. The same can be said for his lackies like Her McIntyre and the San Tan Kid. Not only are they not looking after our interests, they are yes men who don't actually know there job. Our scouting system is non-existent, we are missing out in the all the major regions whilst clubs like Ajax have schools in Africa, Europe and America's, we are fishing in the small pond calles Scotland where football has been replaced by Playstations, drink and drugs. Our 'custodian' is intent on doing nothing to solve the crisis on and off the pitch, all he is interested in is his self image and his bank ballance. The RST have insigated 'Rangers First' and can we honestly say that that saying implies to our glorious leader and his gang of yes men? We have also allowed the 'neds' to take over our fantastic support, however this is going to change (and it has too). But, this is only one part of the problem and the cynic in me says that Murray has allowed this to fester as it takes the attention away for his missmanagement and the dire state that we currently find ourselves in. I can remember the dark and disstant days of the early to mid 80's and can remember finishing 4th in the SPL. The team back then had little in the way of skill, but you couldn't fault them for effort. This season is the closest Rangers have come to these dark days. Back then, out of nowhere came David Holmes to awake the sleeping giant and he changed Scottish football - what we would give for David Holmes now as David Murray isn't going to come to our rescue........ Cammy F
  11. and read and digest the lyrics - by changing America to Rangers, the song could have been written to describe the dire state of our club at the moment : New America - Bad Religion do you know the cost of future misery? have you lost your sense of sustainability? we are just a step away from realizing what we strive to be but we've got to break out from this insulated blind and lame senility wake up the new america wo-oh! transcend the mass hysteria wo-oh! change is the thing you're wary of wo-oh! we need a new america wo-oh! laurels, human triumph, bestowments from the past victories don't mean a thing if they don't last we are just marching toward extinction with blinders on our eyes jeopardizing everything we've learned and come to realize you call that wise? open your eyes america wo-oh! see through the lies they tell to us wo-oh! confront the fears that worry us wo-oh! we need a new america wo-oh! we don't have to be afraid to re-invent we've got to start to build, progress, and implement for when we take our fill, and never pay the price we only build ourselves a fleeting, false paradise you can live in staunch denial and mark me as your enemy but I'm just a voice among the throng who want a brighter destiny they say with me we are the new america wo-oh! this is the new america? wo-oh ------------------------------------------ Cammy F
  12. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mai...6/sfncom06.xml The above is an article describing and condeming the Rome Police for their unprovoked attacks on Man U fans on Wednesdat evening (and I would expect a similar line tomorrow regarding the Spanish Polices attack on Spurs fans). Now, there is no doubting that Man U and Spurs had 'fans' at the games who were there to cause trouble (Man U and Spurs have the biggest casual element in English football at the moment) and their is the possibility that their fans may have been singing 'offensive' songs. So, the question is, why have the English press (to a man/woman) backed the fans over the Police and more importantly, why have the clubs backed their fans 110%? Compare and contrast to the brutal Police actions 3 weeks ago and the subsequent press and club reaction........ In fact, I cought a short part of a phone in last night and Keith Jackson stated that he was utterly disgusted by the Police actions in Spain at the RFC game - pity you didn't write about it at the time then you fookin maggot Jackson. Another aspect that is worth compairing is the level of constraint shown by the Rangers fans in the face of the aggresion shown by the Police. Whilst Man U and especially Spurs fans fought back, throwing chairs etc, Rangers fans were far more restrained in their response (yet our press still describe us as the animals). UEFA MUST be forced to take actions against these Police forces, that is not the way to Police a football match - charging in, weilding batons and riot shields injuring innocent fans. It is good to hear that the RST (yes, them again - leading the way and a shining example to the club) have offered their services and dossiers to the Man U Trust and supporters to join forces in forcing UEFA into action. Cammy F
  13. Frankie, you have hit the nail on the head - TBO are trying their best but NO ONE joins in at Ibrox, no matter what songs are being sung. This hasn't just happened overnight, the atmosphere at Ibrox (Europe, OF games apart) has been lacking for over a decade now. Maybe it started when we were surging our way to 9-in-row and we got 'cocky' and knew that the team were going to win the majority of games without 'our help' or 'support'. BUT, it has been getting worse since and these days (TBO apart) it is utterly shocking. Maybe something to do with the the pish we are served up on the pitch or knowing that no one else, apart from us (the fans) gives a rats arse about the club? Don't know the reason, but it is fooking hard work 'follow following' Rangers at the moment (especially away from home as you run the risk of arrest simply for being a Rangers fan - and that is NO exageration). Cammy F
  14. in the cold light of day, it is just another example of the fact that the players we are, simply aren't good enough for Rangers domestically, never mind in Europe. A chilling and stark reminder that the squad has no depth, quality, guile, passion, pace or skill. Looks like a long hard slog for us Bears with little or no quality on the pitch, a leader who doesn't know his arse from his elbow and continued attacks from the media and UEFA. Welcome to SDM's RFC 2007... Cammy F
  15. Here is an example of the problems we face at Ibrox from Saturday. A guy who sits in TBO was approached by the Police and told in no uncertain terms that if he didn't refrain from singing the sash, he would be ejected. The guy asked Plod why and he was informed that the top plod had informed him to warn and eject anyone singing the sash. The guy asked to speak to the top plod, who eventually came over and conducted himself in a very aggressive and arguementitive fashion and basically said that the guy would be thrown out as 'Mr McIntyre had stated that the sash was a sectarian song and anyone singing it was to be ejected'. As the arguement got more heated, a few guys from TBO and Jim Hannah became involved and it was established that the top plod was telling porkies. No one at Rangers has ever claimed that the sash was sectarian and the plod was forced to apologise to the fan. So, what the fook is going on at Ibrox? Are the Police taking matters into their own hands and deciding themselves what is deemed sectarian? This is why we need leadership and direction from the club so we know ourselves what is and isn't OK to sing at Ibrox and more importantly on our travels. Another example of what we are up against, is the continual mis-reporting of the Borac incident. Now, many media outlets, the BBC being the worst are still claiming that Borac was questioned by the Police due to him 'blessing himself'. This is simply untrue and they know this is untrue. The PF confirmed that Borac was questioned and warned due to making obscene and inflamatory gestures to the RFC fans, NOT FOR BLESSING HIMSELF. So the question is why would the BBC continue to report this lie? Well, quite simply it shows us up as the 'big bad prod bullies' who reported a 'poor wee downtrodden catholic' for blessing himself - which without wishing to sound repatative is a fookin lie. Cammy F
  16. SDM has ensured that the 'Rangers Family' is split down the middle. He has divided and conquored - so much so, it'll not be long until Bears are fighting with Bears week-in and week-out at Ibrox. There is so much wrong with our club at the moment, so much so, I am struggling to think of one asspect of RFC that is currently not in decline or working properly. Even us the fans, aren't working properly at the moment. Who is to blame for this, well, the buck stops at SDM. If he continues in this vein, then the Rangers family will be 'dead' very shortly (if it isn't already). Thanks a million SDM..... Cammy F
  17. Archie Campbell is another who is playing in age groups well above his own and looked decent for the Scottish Schools this season. Think he is playing at under 19 level as well as Fleck. Charlie Adam's wee brother is the Scotland and Rangers youth keeper and looks not to bad and Gordon Durie's lad is a 'promising' centre-half. Rangers sent young Ross Perry to our RSC Dance and the feeling is the lad has a decent future at the club. IIRC he was involved in the last few European squads. Cammy F
  18. As I watched the NI v Sweden game on TV last night (well, if WS and Ally can scout on Healy, then so can I ) I was very impressed by the atmosphere created by the NI fans. They supported their nation from start to finish and guess what, not one 'sectarian' or 'cultural' song was sung. If NI fans can manage this and turn Windsor Park into a loud and intimidating stadium, surely we can do the same at Ibrox? It wasn't long ago that NI fans would regularly sing the sash (with add ons) and other 'cultural songs', but no more. Linfield have also moved on and in fact, there was a fantastic article on them in Scotland On Sunday proir to this season friendly (I posted this on the old site). Could Rangers supporters groups like TBO, RST, Assembly etc contact both NI and Linfield to find out how they managed to 'move on' whilst improving the match day experience? Lessons that we could learn from? Cammy F
  19. Thanks for the memories Dado and all the very best in the future. Once a Ranger, Always A Ranger... Cammy F
  20. Seriously considering not reapplying this season - the first time in 25 years. The response above show and speak volumes in respect of what the average Bear is thinking at the moment. Maybe, justs maybe this is the action required to finally force SDM to act. I urge ALL season ticket holders to think long and hard before renewing. Don't worry, there is no waiting list of punters ready and willing to take your place. If I don't renew, I'll just buy tickets for the games I want to go to via the ticket centre. Cammy F
  21. at Windsor Park tonight to watch David Healy. Cammy F
  22. OMG, the press will have a field day - why don't we invite Linfield over and make it a round-robin comp - it may be the announcement that finally does old gerry in... Cammy F - Can't Wait For This Loyal RSC
  23. that aren't really 'Rangers songs'... Come On Over To My Place Live It Up (its a long story!) Sunshine On Leith (no RFC fan at Easter Road on HS couldn't fail to be impressed by our rendition of this song!!!) I'm Lovin' It (McDonalds advert) Simply The Best Kind Of Magic Cammy F
  24. A few guys who go on our bus have taken this to their MP and in his defence, he has sent a letter back stating his disgust at the treatment and has passed their concerns to the Minister for Sport. I would URGE all Rangers fans who were caught up in this brutal police offensive to contact their MP's as a matter of principle and urgency. I would copy the RST on all letters / emails / sent and any replies you recieve. I hope that it doesn't take the death of a Rangers fan(s) to get people to act on police brutality and inept segregation on our travels. Cammy F
