    Upgrade to Ibrox

We can't sell out Ibrox currently, so why put in extra seats? There will be plenty empty spaces at Ibrox in the coming years if the current regime and form continues. Why not use the money to fund new players or invest it in the Youth Academy? Cammy F
  2. OK, I'll trying putting it over this way - would you prefer a Dado Prso for NOTHING or a Naismith for £1 million? Blackburn signed Benni McCarthy from Porto for just over £2M pounds (the same as we paid Hibs for Thomson) - this is a man who has a proven goal-scoring record at every level he has played at, including the Champions League. I can't see how taking the supposed best players from Kilmarnock (and Falkirk and St Mirren) is going to improve Rangers. With no disrespect to the above teams, Falkirk and St Mirren are actually 'below' run of the mill SPL teams, so therefore, it could be argued, that even their best players are not of the standard required to lift us from the terrible position we currently find ourselves in. Sanjeev Kohli

Typical Tim - can't face the truth about his fans past.... That game saw the single, biggest show of racism at Scottish Football and it came 100% from the Craptic supporters in the crowd. Cammy F
  4. Thomson ISN'T a left sided player - I have taken an interest in KT for sometime as I have some very good friends who support Hibs and they have been banging on about him and Brown for sometime. What they have told me and what I have witnessed whilst watching Thomson is a player who is in the same mold and plays the same type of game as Nigal Spackman. He is the midfield 'protector' and the ball winner, but is no sloutch on the ball. It is obvious that Hendami, Ferguson and Thomson can't play together in a 4 man midfield (they poss could in a 3-5-2 formation) so, and I hate saying this, I would imagine that Hendami will be the player to 'lose' out. I read on another forum that our limits of ambition hold on bounds - we are after Jamie Langfield from Abergreen - I truly and utterly dispare for next season - we'll more than likely be fighting for a UEFA Cup spot rather than the title.... 5. I am sorry, but the days of Rangers paying £1M for a squad player are over. If we sign him, it'll be to partner Boyd up front. If he and Boyd are so good, tell me this, why didn't they shoot Killie to the title? I make no apologies for saying that Rangers FC SHOULDN'T be relying on run of the mill SPL players to win them titles. In fact, sign 11 SPL players and we'll (if we haven't already done so) become an average, run of the mill, SPL team. My standards and what I expect from Rangers is so much better than average, run of the mill SPL team/players. Cammy F
  6. Good riddence to bad rubbish - hope he never again blights our country - we rat that he is. Cammy F
  7. Yip, the Killie front two are just what we need to fire us to SPL and European glory. Sorry, but just can't get excited about this - I'd rather have Koevermans but there is Rangers' ambition for you.... Cammy F
  8. Excellent article Frankie and I will reiterate what I have been saying for some seasons now. Rangers FC will never again be the 'leaders' and successful team in Scotland until the current regime are ousted from power. They have settled for 2nd best (whilst stripping all the clubs assets) and more disturbingly, many fans have, due to no leadership, direction etc from above, settled for 2nd best. A truely worrying and horrific time for Rangers with little or no signs of it getting better. I can remember posting on here the day after Helicopter Sunday saying how a wonderful, last day and 'get it right up yi' snatching of the title could paper of so many cracks. As for who can change the future of the club? Well, that would be up to us, the customers, sorry fans. We are the only ones who can get the current regime to act (or leave) but as I have continually said, I don't think enough of us want (or care) it enough (look at the reaction to the anti-Murray demonstartions). Cammy F
  9. So our long term future is based on qualification for the CL? What happens when UEFA take this away from Scotland and finishing 2nd only gets you into the UEFA Cup? Can't believe that any Rangers fan believes that 2nd best is acceptable. Cammy F

    Argyle Bar

The Argyle Bar near Central Station was wrecked by Craptic fans on their way back from Kilmarnock yesterday. They targeted the Rangers pub, ran in, sang sectarian songs and wrecked the pub whilst fighting with patrons of the pub. Do you think we'll read about this in the press or see images on the TV news programmes this evening? What type of mentality dictates that the first port of call in celebrating a championship victory is a pub usually frequented by fans of your rivals? Also heard that a group of celebrating Craptic fans spat and hurled abuse at a young girl in a Rangers top on a platform in Central Station. Instead of moving the fans on, the Police allowed them to perform a 'huddle' and then to sing sectarian songs. Cammy F
  11. Oh, totally agreed, just thought it was interesting that not many of them had been nominated. It'd be interesting to see how many are in the Rangers Hall Of Fame... So, given that, I'll nominate 2 players who played (and scored) in that team - Colin Stein and Willie Johnston and one who played and scored in the semi-final, Derek Parlane. Cammy F
  12. I can't seriously see how we aren't far off them on the pitch. We are lacking in so many key areas - we need a goalie, 2 full backs, a centre half, 3 decent midfield players who can actaully beat a player, pass, move and strike a ball from outside the 18 yard line and we need 2 forwards. Maybe I expect too much from Rangers players, management and board, but I have no confidence that we can overtake Craptic on or off the field in the next few seasons. They have a better squad than us, are better off financially. They aren't a great side, but we are a rank rotten side at the moment. We've been rank rotten for the best part of 7 years now. Cammy F

    A New Low

Jim, I don't agree, but the way Rangers went about the Don't Vote Labour banner was all wrong - they banned the fans for flying a 'sectarian banner' - they never mentioned anything about 'political'. The banner was political, end of story - we could argue all day about whether political messages should be displayed in grounds, that is not the point. The point is fans were banned for 'sectarianism' which isn't true. When Larry was questioned about this by his bosses, he alledgedly lied and said that he never banned the fans for sectarianism. The guys who took the banner actually won their case and are back at Ibrox. This latest banner is a dig at Labours 'One Scotland, many Cultures'. Many Rangers fans, rightly or wrongly believe that the only culture not tolerated is a 'Rangers' culture. To be banned from Ibrox for flying these type of flags is an UTTER disgrace. We have a people in Ibrox who don't give a fcuk about us - remember Larry is the man who told a fanzine editor that 'We Are The People' was sectarian. He also claimed that TBO cause him more problems than the Hibs/AFC Casuals and the entire Craptic fans put together. He must go and he must go now. Cammy F
  14. For the last 7 years, it appears that SDM has decided that being 2nd in a 2 horse race is acceptable for Rangers Football Club. So, the question is, as fans, is 2nd acceptable? If not, what are we going to do to ensure that OUR club never accepts 2nd when 1rst is achievable? Cammy F
  15. But the league lasts for a full season, not half a season..... How are we closer? They are 13 points clear with 4 games to go - I hardly call that close. We have just lost our 5th title in 7 seasons to 'them' and only 2 last day victories has stopped 'them' from racking up 7 in a row. In those 7 years, the standard of football and standard of player on evidence at Ibrox has gone down rapidly. We have signed players who are no better than average, run of the mill, SPL players, and I make no apology for saying that average, run of the mill SPL players don't win you titles. If they did, teams like Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, Dundee UTD etc would be winning the league. If we believe that the current squad is good enough, or close enough to match Craptic over next season, we are deluded. Cammy F
  16. Also, very interesting to note that very few players who won us our sole European trophy have been nominated. Cammy F
  17. Where did all go wrong for us this season? Why aren't we witnessing the 'moon-beams' of success promised by (perennial liar) SDM? What went so drastically wrong with the PLG appointment? We were all excited by PLGââ?¬â?¢s appointment and some were blinded by SDMââ?¬â?¢s ââ?¬Ë?moon-beams and financial investmentââ?¬â?¢ promises, both have failed to materialise over the last 9 months or so. In fact, it could be argued that all SDM has achieved over the last 12 months is sell of our most profitable asset in the deal that saw JJB inherit our merchandising sector and brand name. On the pitch, after watching Rangers play wonderful football at Fir Park on the opening weekend of the season (well for about 45 minutes), most of us believed, only to have our dreams shattered and our frustrations heaped upon. It isnââ?¬â?¢t hard to find reasons for us losing the league so weakly ââ?¬â?? dropping 7 points (out of 9) to ICT, dropping 5 out of 9 to DUFC (same record v Tims) and dropping further points to Motherwell, Kilmarnock, St Mirren and DAFC. Our inability to snatch victories from the jaws of defeat (or draws) hasnââ?¬â?¢t helped either. So another season of abject failure that was made worse by the total and utter mismanagement of our club which doesnââ?¬â?¢t bode well for the future. It doesnââ?¬â?¢t take a genius to realise that our squad requires major surgery in the summer, or that the club must pro-actively defend themselves and us the fans as we are continually under fire at the moment. Do we have the leaders at the club to sustain these challenges and come out on top? It is my opinion that Rangers Football Club will never again be successful if Murray, Bain and McIntyre remain in charge. Cammy F
  18. Serious question, what indications are there that we'll be back on top on or off the park) any time soon? Or are we just hoping that 'fate' intervenes (as SDM is)? Cammy F
  19. First to 50, anyone confident that we'll be first to 60? We completed 41 championship titles in the 90's and our 51st came 2 seasons ago (it seems longer). Can we win 9 titles before Craptic secure 19? Cammy F
  20. I pity the good folk in Ayrshire tonight:mad: Timmy will treat vicvtory as graciously as they treat defeat, batton down your windows folks, the bitterest winners and losers are about to go on the rampage :uzi: Cammy F

    A New Low

Our club has hit another new low, with the news that the fans who displayed the banner below, were removed from Ibrox for displaying this banner. This comes hot on the heals of the (alledged) lying from larry mcintryre who implied that the fans banned for displaying the 'Don't Vote Labour' banner were banned for 'diaplaying a sectarian banner'. I am really at the end of my tether with those charged with leading OUR club forward. They must be removed for-with. I am seriously considering NEVER returning to Ibrox if Murray, Bain and McIntyre remain. Cammy F
  22. IMO any hall of fame should be resevered for those who gave loyal service and made a difference to Rangers. So along with those nominated, I think and only IMO, a non-playing nominee should be David Holmes as he transformed not only Rangers but Scottish Football. As for players, well I think most have been covered, but like to mention Eric Caldow a fantastic player, a true blue gentleman and still a great 'Ranger' to this day. Cammy F
  23. Ross McCormacks in Porto. We had gone ages without scoring, were on our worst domestic run in our history and the 1000's of Rangers fans in the ground that evening took about 5 seconds to realise that we'd scored then celebrated the goal until the final whistle. That trip was amazing from start to finish and it was a pleasure being there and talking to the tour guide to took us round the stadium the next day made me realise just what fantastic fans we are. He confirmed that it was the largest, noisiest and passionate support ever to visit Porto. Cammy F
