  1. No Sterling in the squad - injured again?
  2. If Dessers scores 20 goals this season (a reasonable return), we'll not win the league and probably won't win any cups. We need other players to contribute significantly, 1 goalscorer doesn't win you the league. Morelos, Roofe, Tav, Kent.... Boyd, Miller..... McCoist, Hateley.....
  3. Noticed that Fabio Silva scored the winner against Barca today......
  4. But they have goals right through their team, we don't.
  5. He isn't the player we need going forward, but he isn't as bad as some make him out to be (his goalscoring record for us is decent). He should score more goals but is currently carrying the goalscoring burden on his own, as he did last season when Sima got injured. The scramble to have Igamane (or Danilo) to replace him is premature, both of them have a lot to prove, even after Igamanes performance on Thursday.
  6. What's his total xG this season (including Cup games)?
  7. Worth adding that St Johnstone's pitch is notoriously bad this time of the year.
  8. I like McCann as a pundit, and never listen to BBC so can't comment on his comments whilst he is commentating with them. As for Nice, I think we can all see how poor they were especially in defence and think the crowd testifies to how serious (or not) they are taking this compition. I'd say they were one of the poorest teams we've face's in recent years. However that shouldn't detract from the performance, result and our continued great European success.
  9. Apparently the GB (they hate it abbreviated to this) have been kicked about Glagow twice this week. Once by UBs and then by Brugge. Not that I condone violence, but had a little chuckle when I heard this.
  10. Diomande just ahead of Igamane, Raskin and Barron.
  11. Agreed and the same can be said about Clement to an extent (Cortes as an example). Rangersrab stated that there may be a reluctance to sack Clement due to him getting results and therefore much needed income in Europe. There is a valid argument in that opinion, but all I did was point out it didn't save Gio who generated more income (via European results) than any manager since Walter Smith.
  12. But the intial post was about income not results. Gio got us to EL final and CL group stages. We generated more income for qualifying for the CL group stages than we did for getting to EL Final. It would also be argued that the run to EL meant we got top dollar for Bassey. So income wise, Gio generated more than any manager since Walter Smith took us to Manchester or Alex McLeish took us to the CL knock out stages
  13. After our game I was speaking with a mate who is a Hearts fan and he said a couple of things I thought were interesting. Firstly, he said we can have Shankland for free in January and he'd give him a piggyback from Tynecastle to Ibrox (Hearts fans eh....) Secondly, he referred to Dessers as Sebo with goals and can't believe Sebo was a "cult hero" and Dessers is ridiculed (Hearts fans eh......)
  14. Agree regarding the defending in the opening minutes as it was vital to get through those without conceding. I feared the worst when the Referee went to the screen for the penalty decision as I hadn't realised he'd given the penalty "on-field". Fair play to the officials for (eventually) getting the correct 3 decisions 😀 I thought the ref had a decent game last night.
  15. But we didn't score with the chances we created. Our opening goal was a double deflection. Our second goal was a brilliant finish, but the defender should have cleared the ball before Diomande got a chance to score. Our third goal was a short back pass which Igamane did well to latch onto and finish (credit also for Diomande for triggering the press). Our forth goal, Nice gifted us the ball, and again credit for Igamane for latching onto the ball, showing a bit of skill to beat defender and score. I thought we missed the chances we created and scored the goals we were gifted. Nothing wrong with that as such, just an observation which probably isn't reflected in the stats.
  16. 2nd January is a Thursday, just saying.....
  17. Jefte played well, Ridvan done well when he came on. Looking at the stats, they had more shots than us, more possession - is that good or bad @Rousseau - thats a serious question. Whilst they gifted us 3 goals and the 4th was a deflection, we still missed many very good chances. Great win, great performance but we've had a few false dawns this season. Players need to back this up with a similar performance and result on Sunday. Must be favourites to beat Spurs, Man U now 😀
  18. 3 points and up the road. Cannae wait for Perth on a cold December afternoon. Igamane, Diomande, Raskin and Barron outstanding.
  19. I don't, its been a great performance but Nice are gash. No point in denying it.
  20. Nowhere near it - goals win games. Igamane got 2, Diomande got 1 and was outstanding.
