Rumours on FF that the mystery striker is Mido who could sign as early as tomorrow - don't you just love pre-season.... Cammy F
  3. Saw him coming out of Ibrox after the game we won the league at Parkhead with his wife/bird - to say he was 'worse for wear' is an understatement - he did pass out some booze to the Bears that were hanging around!!!! A strange one is Dougray Scott - his uncle worked with a girl I knew and told us all that Scott was a Bear - we even met up with him on a night out and he confirmed that he was a big Rangers fan. next thing I know he's on the telly telling everyone he is a Hibby. A very strange fellow. Last time I seen Travis the guitarist had a RFC scarf tied to his guitar..! Cammy F

    Feinduno

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=468575&CPID=24&clid=152&lid=11&title=Verts+cool+Feinduno+talk&channel=& An exciting article on Feinduno on FF from a guy who follows French football and is located in France. The French press believe that Rangers have made an approach for the player and are in prime position to sign him if he leaves St Eitenne. Fee could be around £2.5-£3M plus Sionko. Cammy F
  7. Agree that Smith has to be considered the long term left back, but he has struggled with injuries and we need cover and experience in that position - something that Konchesky offers and at £600K, it is a decent deal. I actually wouldn't mind letting Ian Murray go, imo he hasn't done anything in his time at Rangers to suggest that he can hold down a regular starting slot (in any position). Papac has improved of late, but again, I can't see him staying long term - we are going to be well covered in defence and maybe he is a luxuary that we can't afford at the moment Agreed...! Cammy F
  8. Fantastic point - we need quality and the names above (and those that we have signed) may turn into great players, but they are not what is required to transform us into a great (and winning) team. Sign enough run of the mill SPL players and we'll turn into a run of the mill SPL team.... Cammy F
  9. and also interested in ex-Ger Stevie Hughes http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/6676697.stm Also reported on STV tonight that they (Hearts) are interested in Naismyth as WS is no longer interested. Cammy F
  10. I think the lack of character can be traced back to the last days of the DA era - in his last season, there was a very evident lack of character in the squad, something that AMc managed to turn round quickly to win 5 trophies in succession - a feat that looks more impressive every passing season. This is one of the seemingly 100's of issues that needs to be addressed urgently at Rangers (on and off the field - we haven't had a board member with 'character' since David Holmes) and I am heartened to read that WS says that in this close season, he is after 'winners'. Cammy F
  11. All the current noises coming out of Ibrox are hardly encouraging. We do not have much money to spend in the transfer market (we should have, according to the powers that be, PLG never used his entire budget in the summer and only half was used at Christmas - add that to the money we'll save on wages and transfer fees, plus the season ticket money and JJB deal - oh aye, I forgot that all of that is earmarked for SDM hip pocket). It looks like another pre-season of raking around in the bargain basement area of the transfer market and the Bosman market. Like shopping for anything, a few gems can be found in the 'lower end markets', but as the old saying goes, you only get what you pay for. Off the pitch, we are in utter shambles - simply put, and I can't say this often enough, we are run by a liar, cheat and robber, and a band of yes men that care not one jot about Rangers Football Club, or this 'imaginary' Rangers family. Another season of 2nd best (at best) awaits us and this will never change until a new board with vision, goals, ambition and a love of Rangers Football Club in their hearts is installed. Cammy F
  12. As we revealed last week, Smith has targeted Osasuna defender Carlos Cuellar, and today his Iranian midfield team-mate Javid Nekounam stated Rangers wanted him as well. Espanyol striker Walter Pandiani has also been linked in a £1m move, but Smith would not be drawn. And, as we told you last Wednesday, Smith has been offered West Ham left back Paul Konchesky. He was in Glasgow for the Uefa Cup Final and stayed on for talks with Rangers and Smith will use this week to decide on any £600,000 bid. -------------------------------------------- Cammy F
  13. Shit game, but brilliant winning goal. Cammy F

    9 in a row

We also defeated Timmy 8-1 during this period - Oh, and if Timmy says the game 'didn't count', ask them why they include their goal in their official statistics.... Cammy F
  15. You've just realised this? We did this with players like Boumsong, Gio and others, but it appears that our custodian no longer has the money for the initial outlay - we can blame Bain till the cows come home, but SDM is the man that pulls the strings, the buck stops with him and no one else We are - SDM is using all our money and assests to recoupe the £50M he loaned us - that was only a paper excersise that so him move the debt from Rangers to his 'holding company' - the debt is still there, only under a different ballance sheet. Can't agree, Riordan has been a flop and is a trouble maker - he is currently up in court for (alledgedly fighting with a doorman) and is in bother ever time he goes out in Edinburgh. Off course I'd rather have Brown, where have I said otherwise? Its just that I understand the reasons that we won't be signing players like Brown - we have a custodian that is a lying, cheating, robbing bassa who doesn't give a flyin' fuck about, you, me or Rangers Football Club and nothing will change (well, it might get worse) until he goes. Cammy F
  16. Pete, there are better players out there for £4.5M but I'll bet we won't see any of them playing for Rangers. Cammy F
  17. Simply put, he is well paid for carrying out SDM's orders. His task was to cut wages - he's done that and got promoted for it. He is the type of man SDM wants as his right hand man - i.e a yes man that cares not one jot about Rangers Football Club Cammy F
  18. What part of us being skint don't you understand? We simply couldn't afford to pay £12M pounds (fee and wages) that Craptic could for Brown's services. For the last 7 pre-seasons, Craptic have outspent Rangers (fees plus wages) and this pre-season will be no different. Why are they able to outspend us? Simply put, they got rid of their corrupt board who fleeced the fans whislt we (well the majority) are happy to have a lying, cheating, robbing bassa as a Chairman. I continually say this, it took the Tims a decade to realise that their board was 'no good' and disposed of them. I thought that we were more intelligent than them, it appears not - we simply don't have any fans who can see what a future under Murray really entales. We will be 2nd best at best until we dispose of SDM - its as simple as that. For every fiver that they spend, I'll spend a tenner - aye right Mr Murray Cammy F
  19. Serious question - what made you believe that this close-season would be any different from the last 5-6 close-season that have seen the departure of our best players, only to be replaced by cheaper and less talented replacements? Cammy F
  20. Rino, it may have escaped your attention but SDM is still Rangers Chairman, we are still in debt, we are still posting losses, he is still raping our club. Do you really expect HIM to give WS a decent transfer budget? Cammy F
  21. Some very good and honest points (again) from David Edgar on RR tonight - - The price Celtic have paid for Brown is way too much for someone who hasnt proven himself in europe or international level -David Murray is at fault for the "debt" Rangers currently have. As he is worth £450M, surely he can give WS £10 to spend on players? -Our bosman signings (to date) won't do -We are the most successful club in Scotland and we must maintain this -If Murray won't dip into his pockets then he can go and go now. The RST still the only show in town when it comes to delivering for the Rangers support. Cammy F
  22. I would say that Craptic needed a player like Brown more than we did - Lennon is leaving and Graveson has been a major let down and the rumours are he'll be let go in the summer (bought out of his contract). That leaves them very short in the middle. By comparison, we are very strong in that area - Ferguson, Thompson and Hendami - all very decent players. IMO that is why they have out-bid us on Brown, they have more money and a greater urgency to strengthen in that area. I can see them being interested in Naismyth, he is a very promising player, but I think if he stays in Scotland, he'll come to Rangers. McCulloch has stated publically that he wants a move back to Scotland for 'family reasons' and given his family, its safe to say that if he signed for Craptic, he'd need to move away from Scotland for 'family reasons' Cammy F
  23. Just someone who seems to get wee tit-bits regarding possible signings and other 'inside' information - he spoke to me on Sunday and told me about the above. He isn't always 100% reliable, but gets more right than he gets wrong. Cammy F
  24. RIP KING KAI Cammy F
  25. Brown is not worth £5M but is a very decent player and a brilliant prospect. Given WS restricted transfer budget (rumoured to be anything up to £10M, I'd go for a bit less than that tho), we simply couldn't afford to spend half the budget on one player, who due to his age and temper is a 'gamble' at that price (and wages). What we need if we spend that type of money on one player is someone who is almosr guarenteed to fit in and deliver from day 1. That one 'big signing' could be Koevermans, it may be someone else, but it certainly isn't and rightly so given the above, Brown. Cammy F
