I've said this previously, Thompson is more of a Nigal Spackman type player - one who quietly goes about his business, winning the ball and passing it to a team-mate, breaking up play etc. IF and its a HUGE IF we can secure an attacking right hand sided midfield player, then our squad would be complete and help bring the best out of BF. Look at his best seasons, they were whilst playing within a rigid 4-4-2 system under DA or under AMc when we played with RDB off the strickers giving BF opportunities to get forward and score goals. IMO WS tactics are too negative for BF - we will play 4-5-1 for the majority of games this season. 4-4-2 of McGregor Hutton CC Weir Papac/Smith Beasley Fergie Hendami/Thomson McCulloch JCD Boyd Cammy F

McGregor Hutton Weir Webster Papic Hendami Fergie Thompson Beasley Boyd JCD -------------- IMO, the above team is a long way short of being thought of as Champions material and will struggle to overcome a decent and well organised European outfit. We still require at least 5 new signings - a left back to cover Smith, a centre half, right midfield player, a quality/ creative midfield player and a centre forward. I don't mean 5 'squad players, but 3 'first teamers' and 2 squad players. Over to you flim-flan man Cammy F

Now thats harsh - SDM promised us moombeams of success and by golly gosh we'll get those moombeans, just you wait and see. Cammy F

Bain - How much are you looking for Naismith? Killie - Over 1 million Bain - OK we'll offer you 10 bob now and the rest in 10 bob installments Killie - we want over a milliom Bain - Christ on a stick, you guys drive a hard bargain - ok 20 bob up front, 20 bob installments, 10 'ginger bottles' a week and you can up the prices for our fans when the fill 3 of your 4 stands Killie - fook off suntan man Cammy F

So Bord/Killie should just accept any offer that Rangers make? Yeah, ok, cool Tell you what, I'll offer you a combined fee of £10K for your house and car - will you sell me them? Put it another way, you are selling your house and put it up at offers over £150K - someone comes along and offers you £75K, would you sell at that price or would you hold out for an offer that meats your evaluation? Oh, SDM believes in half of that motto - he has done a fantastic job of firstly accumulating debt and then laterly accumulating or money and assets. But speculating isn't in his nature. Shortermism thats the way forward.... Cammy F

SDM will be so proud of you - its that attitude, displayed by the majority of Rangers fans that allows SDM to rip the pi5h every transfer window. Cammy F

Its called business - if they said they only wanted £5M no one would have bid over £3.5M. They said they wanted £10 but in reality, a bid of over £5 would have sealed the deal. Don't blame Bordeaux, blame the shop-front we have conducting our transfers and the even bigger shop-front that employs Bain. Cammy F

Does anyone think that the ~£7M pounds we offered for the above will be spent on 'other targets'? Or do we believe that the net spend when the transfer window closes will stand, as it does now at ~£0 ???? If we do fail to sign anyone other than say the likes of Naismith and McCulloch will this be enough to tip the majority of fans over the edge? I would suggest not - not enough of those who turn up to Ibrox care enough to be honest. They'll happily go along and watch Rangers struggle to get 2nd in a two horse race and continue to await SDM to ride over the horizon on his white charger (are we allowed to say white charger in this post-sectarian country) and deliver his 'moon-beams of success'.... But he fits the bill - i.e he'll cost us nothing © Martin Bain School of Transfer negotiations. Cammy F

Or an unfit, untested and 'one big fooked up contract mess' loan from Wigan for 6 months. Rangers current transfer policy is like the wee Dutch boy who put his finger in the 'bursting bam'.... Cammy F

After failing to convince the majority of Rangers fans to rename the club Sir David Murray Football Club, is this his latest attempt to have the club renamed? Bosman FC or simply Laughing Stock FC are the front runners. Yet, the vast majority of Bears still seem to be be backing SDM. After all, you can see where they are coming from - he did give us 9 in a row, Graeme Souness, rebuilt Ibrox from scratch and I am sure that the bible is wrong and it was SDM who actually gave us 'light and life'.... Since MB (:uzi: ) appears not to have the knack of actually landing a player who would 1 - enhance our team and 2 - cost a transfer fee, we have redirected our attentions away from a fantastic player to these two (oh, before reading the article, anyone guess what they have in common?) http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/11895 Cammy F

Probably means that our move for Cuellar will be put on the back burner. Bit dissapointed if that happens - Webster hasn't played for nearly a year now. Cammy F

Yes, he said that the club has accepted a bid from another club - he also said that at this moment, the player, himeself and the other club had a lot of talking to do. If we match or better that bid then we will also get to talk to the player (who still, according to all reports, prefers to join Rangers). Funnily enough, no mention of this accepted bid in ANY French media outlets last night or today Cammy F

Voted yes as I have always liked him as a player. In fact, I was surprised that we never went for him when he was at Motherwell. Regular international who has experience in the Championship and Premiership where he didn't look out of place. It is worth trawling the Wigan fans forums to seek their reaction on losing McCulloch - vast majority say that he would be missed at the JJB...... Cammy F

We are tabling a bid of £5M today and hope to sign the player on Monday - guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens Cammy F

ET stating that neither OF clubs have made a bid yet... Cammy F

Yip, that is what I thought as well. The cheaper seats are in the top tier behind the goals. The most expensive seats (hospitality apart) are in the bottom tier near the half-way line. Bayern have also restriced the number of season ticket holders to 34,000 (they claim that they could have sold over 70,000) as they want as many fans as possible to buy tickets and see the team. Visiting fans are put up in the top tier, in the corners. Our guide stated that this is true for all games including CL and they try to limit the numbers of visiting fans to the legal minimun. That is twice Capello has won the league and been sacked for it.,... Those Spaniards are crazy... Cammy F

Yes and eh, YES.... Cammy F

Have some pics and will upload later... The two Munich teams went halfers on the new stadium and planned to recoupt the money thro hospitality. One entire tier of one stand is for hospitality and Bayern have sold these out every season and have a waiting list. 1860 were relegated after their first season in the arena and can not get investment. So Bayern paid for their share and now own the stadium and 1860 rent. Ticket prices for Bayern start at 20 Euros and reach anything up to 50 Euros for the best seats. 1860 start at 15 Euros and reach 35 Euros for the best seats. There is also a standing area behind one goal (the Bayern end) that is used for domestic games. Cammy F
