  1. I think if you look at the stats, McCormack did get as much, if not more of a chance that Jeffers and Nieto. Simply fact is that neither AM nor PLG rate him, they both can't be wrong - can they? Cammy F
  2. Religion should NEVER be a reason for a player to be signed or not signed - however, would we be happy if we signed Neil Lennon knowing his feelings towards Rangers, Rangers fans, our history and traditions? I for one would HATE to see a wee scrote like Lennon pull on the famous blue jersey and would seriously rethink my support if we signed him or anyone else with 'that' reputation (no matter their religion). Cammy F
  3. Best - Juve team that we BEAT 2-1 in 78 (I think) or as others have said, the Juve and Valencia teams that we played recently in the CL. The Valencia team that beat us in 79 or 80 that featured Mario kempes were also not a bad team. Worst - DAFC on a few occassions - they always seem to freeze at Ibrox and we were often defeating them 4,5,6-0 Cammy F
  4. Basically news posted by SA Bears who were watching Rangers train today - Burke trod in a hole and went over on his ankle - lying on the ground in agony for 30 minutes, no stretcher at training so he was lifted into a car and taken to the team hotel. Cammy F
  5. Looks like Burke has picked up what could be a serious injury http://followfollow.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1152610875 Cammy F
  6. So, will the Tims be singing 'The Cry Was No Defenders'? Ok I'll get ma coat.... As for Lennon, I said to the younger Bears on the bus last season that seasons like that, make successful seasons more enjoyable and we certainly have a few scores to settle domestically this season. Bring on it Lennon ya wee bigoted tosspot Cammy F
  7. Coventry City and Ipswich Town are both credited with an interest in Malcolm and Charlton are still thinking about a move for Fan Fan. Cammy F

  9. Well, I phoned the ticket office yesterday to see if they could confirm what away games I had. The lassie was very unhalpfull saying that she would have to look on her PC.... Must have interupted her t-break or something. Anyway, I finally got her to look and after giving her my name and address, season ticket number, Rangers number, credit card number, NI number, vlood type, medical history, passport number, travel club number, driving license number, birth certificate, marriage license etc, she informed me that I wasn't a season ticket holder and wasn't entitled to an away allocation..... So, after convincing her that Rangers were taking money out of my account for 3 season tickets, that I had been a season ticket holder for 25 years, member of the travel club etc, she says 'looks like there is a problem'. NO shit Sherlock. I was put on hold - for 15 minutes (prime rate - all proceeds going to David E Murray), she came back on, said that some of the away allocations hadn't been added to the system and that I *might* get a letter this week confirming my allocation and she promptly hung up. No letter today and looks like another long summer trying to get the ticket office to do the fookin job. Cammy F
  10. Pete, having attended MANY Orange Parades, it is not the OO members who behave like this, it is pissed up people wearing Rangers gear that follow the parade and or certain bands..... Anyway, we have veered of the topic - Andy posted a great thread about artifacts showing Rangers and Craptic being linked with religion and wanted to know if this was they way we should be portrayed. Cammy F
  11. Firstly, congratulations to Rino on becoming a World Cup winner, the wee man had a very decent campaign and I am delighted for him. However, I reviewed todayââ?¬â?¢s Scottish media fully expecting (tongue firmly implanted in cheek) full page spreads, colour pull-outs etc dedicated to Rino as an ex-star of the Scottish game. I fully expected Graeme Speirs to be eulogising about Rino;s thighs in a Larsson-esque gay fantasy article. Well, to my surprise, Rinoââ?¬â?¢s affiliation to Rangers and the Scottish game hardly merited a mention ââ?¬â?? now, compare and contrast to the attention given to larsson after the CL final and in the build up to the Sweden v England game. As I posted the other week, maybe Rinoââ?¬â?¢s refusal to swap jerseys with a Craptic player or his comments that Craptic fans, resplendent in their crucifixes used to bore him to death with talk of religion during his stay in Glasgow hasnââ?¬â?¢t gone down too well with the TWATS (Tims With A Typewriter). 12. That was the kids problem - I don't think there was anything special about him. Failed to impress when played in the first team and failed to impress when loaned out to Doncaster. Cammy F

    Game

That about sums it up Cammy F
  14. Colshy, Rangers were established by a group of youths who loved the game and wanted to establish a football club - at that time, there was no link to any relgion or organisation. However, when the Irish migration started, the Protestants from NI and locally did chose Rangers, as Craptic were an established Catholic club. That is a very one-sided way of putting it - where in our history or tradition is it stated that we sing about being up to our kness in fenian blood or fucking the pope? UEFA wouldn't have a problem with our songs / history and tradition if we stuck to songs that celebrated 'our culture' whilst respecting others. Cammy F

    Game

I would urge all Rangers fans to boycott this game - it will be a second string anyway and given the way Clyde FC have handled the Graham Roberts situation, I do not think they are deserving of our money. Cammy F
  16. Andy, it is a very interesting post and comment - and It'll be interesting to read other posters thoughts on the topic However, I still don't see how anyone would equate an Orange Sash, or even the OO and Rangers to bigotry. It is a thorny subject, but to move forward, we can no longer ignore this and have to have an open and frank discussion about the links between Rangers, loyalism, unionism and Presbyterianism. In fact, if we were to truely and openly celebrate the positives of Rangers, loyalism, unionism and Presbyterianism and educate the fans about the positives, it would spead up the eradication of the anti-catholic stuff that currently infests some of our support. For instance, if you were to read the pledges of the OO you would see that members are urged to respect all other religions. In an ideal world, religion would be seperate from football, but this isn't an ideal world and all over the world, football clubs are supported due to political, religous and racial believes as well as footballing ones. Also, lets not forget, or let anyone taint what a humble beginning we came from. We were established by a group of friends who wanted to play football and decided to start a football club which is turned into one of the biggest clubs in the world. Cammy F
  17. Andy, what is sectarian about the Orange Order? Whether Rangers should be linked with the OO is another arguement. Ibrox was once a regular venue for OO meetings etc (along with Church / Boys Brigade and athletics meetings) so there is a 'connection'. As long as the exhibition shows that the religous links are being eradicated (as religion is sadly from society) and that whilst both clubs used to have a link with one religion, both are taking strides to become inclusive (well, we are ). I can not believe that this country is so quick to apologise and distance itself from relgion. Scotland was at the forefront of religous freedom and liberty, this is something that we should celebrate rather than apologise for (however, whether this should be linked to football is another question). Cammy F
  18. Far to far down the pecking order at Ibrox and its obvious that PLG doesn't rate the lad. From the little I have seen of him, he always appeared to be carrying a little extra weight and when given the chance last season didn't really do much (apart for his goal in Porto). Hope he does well at Motherwell Cammy F
  19. If only it were that easy - what will happen is the band and TBO will get this sorted, will get singing up, only for McIntyre and his foot soldiers in Rock Unsteady to throw us all out. The rest of the stadium will prefer to sit back and moan about the football on show and the lack of atmosphere and only break their silence to sing the billy boys..... Ibrox is a morgue and has been for a few years now - hopefully the PLG era will remeby this, but I think it is too late, there are to many people at Ibrox who don't want to 'support' the team (singing) for whatever reason. Cammy F
  20. There is a thread about this on FF and it appears that the band are learning this song and a few people have tried to write some lyrics around it.. http://followfollow.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1152353610 It's a catchy, fantastic chant that we should be looking to adopt as soon as possible. I just hope that our support embrace this and get singing / chanting and bouncing.... Cammy F - Sos Cagon, Sos Cagon Loyal RSC
  21. Aye, imagine the entire Rangers support arriving at Parkhead before the gates opened and indulging in our version of this fantastic song / chant whilst doing the bouncy Or, imagine The Copland Road stand rocking like the River fans in the 2nd video decked out in red, white and blue before, during and after an SPL game? And another video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WUL9faZ5dE&mode=related&search=river%20plate%20sos%20cagon If only... Cammy F
  22. Imagine if we could get a song as catchy as this, and get Ibrox rockin' like this - Respect to the River Plate fans - BTW, this video is of them waiting to get IN to the football another video of them INSIDE the ground singing Ole, Ole, Ole - absolutely fantastic support. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ftdzwlA36s&mode=related&search=river%20plate%20sos%20cagon Cammy F
  23. Not argueing that he wasn't a good signing, but in hindsight, Ally / Hateley were the best partnership by a country mile. In saying that, I can still remember the look on the Tims faces when MoJo scored a late winner at Ibrox..... Cammy F

    Ricksen?

Technically, he was WS gave BF his debut, played him as a striker but then appeared not to rate BF and kept in on the bench / in the reserves. BF was going to leave Rangers to progress his career until DA had a talk to him before taking over Rangers officially and got BF to sign a new 5-year deal. Cammy F
  25. At the time, they were just looking for a stroy..... Think it was to ballance things up as they had the stroy of Tims battering MoJo's auld man and wanted something to show us up in a bad light as well. Obviously, with season ticket sales and attandences rising they couldn't run with fans staying away (there were fans who stayed away, but in those days we actually did have a waiting list for season tickets!).
