  1. Barry Ferguson showed last night that he is without doubt, one of the best players this country has produced in the last decade. He also showed that he can live in anyones company. A fantastic performance from a wonderful, wonderful player. Cammy F
  2. Fergie for me closely followed by Hutton and JCD Cammy F
  3. What, no Tims in there - I feel a 'boycott', 'petition' and some inTIMidation coing Goals way Cammy F
  4. I think that WS will play this game cagey and go with a 4-5-1 formation : McGregor Hutton Weir CC Papac SW Fergie Hendami Thommo Run DMB JCD I would like to see WS go with a more attacking 4-4-2 formation (although the above could be described as a 4-3-3 just as easily as a 4-5-1). With Lee McCulloch suspended, Beasley is the only option for the wide left position - unless Charlie Adam gets a surprising recall. If going 4-4-2 team would be along these lines ; McGregor Hutton / SW Weir CC Papac Naismith / SW Fergie Hendami / Thommo Run DMB JCD Cousin No matter what team / formation WS plumps for, lets remember that we, the fans can be the 12th man and lets get behind and stick behind the players charged with getting us our first 3 points of our latest CL adventure. Cammy F
  5. Back Down To Earth With A Bump Maybe itââ?¬â?¢s just the eternal pessimist in me, but wasnââ?¬â?¢t there something rather predictable and inventible about the 4-2 defeat to Hearts? Not just the result, but in the manner of the performance, team selection and a return to form from this seasons laughing stock / whipping boys that are Heart of Midlothian? Not too many of our players covered themselves in glory at Tynecastle with our normally reliable defence looking at sixes and sevens. McGregor and Hutton were awful and CC and Weir werenââ?¬â?¢t much better. Weir in particular has looked a tired and jaded defender of the last few weeks and maybe its time to rest his aging limbs. Without BF in midfield, we appear a rudderless ship. I know many Rangers fans believe that we are a better team without Ferguson, but in my humble opinion that theory was blown out of the water today. With no BF we have no fight, no guile and donââ?¬â?¢t appear as solid. Hard to blame the forwards today as they received very little service but I have to say that WS MUST pick his preferred front two and stick with them. This chopping and changing isnââ?¬â?¢t doing anyone any good so pick 2 and stick with them for 10 (or so games). Personally, I would plump for Cousin and Darchville. However, overall, we have had a decent start to the season and it will be interesting to see how the players bounce back from this set-back (lets hope thatââ?¬â?¢s all it is) against Stuttgart in our opening Champions League fixture. It will also be interesting to see how WS and his staff play this game. Will we go all out for a victory or will they play it cagey? For me, the next 2 games (Stuttgart, Abergreen) are MUST wins so Iââ?¬â?¢d like to see WS picking our strongest 11 and going for back to back impressive victories in the coming days. Rollercoaster One thing that is for sure, the result against Hearts wonââ?¬â?¢t be our only ââ?¬Ë?downââ?¬â?¢ of the season and as fans, all we can hope for is that we have more ââ?¬Ë?upsââ?¬â?¢ than we have ââ?¬Ë?downsââ?¬â?¢. Itââ?¬â?¢s safe to say that most of us would have been pleased with only one defeat and progression into the Champions League group stages if offered it at the start of the season. Lets not forget that we are bedding in a whole new team and unfortunately, weââ?¬â?¢ll have days like today at Tynecastle ââ?¬â?? itââ?¬â?¢s the nature of the beast and comes with the territory. As long as the players and management learn from these mistakes and as long as these knock-backs make us stronger and wiser we should ensure more highs than lows. We have a huge month coming up and at the end of that period we will have a much better idea of our best team / formation and a clearer picture of how our season is going to pan out. The reaction to the Hearts defeat has been predictable and as we know, life at Rangers is black or white ââ?¬â?? there is no middle ground. Last week we were flying, unstoppable, certain SPL winners and had a chance in our CL group. One defeat later, we are also-rans, garbage, and likely to get zero points in the CL. As usual, the reality will lie somewhere in the ââ?¬Ë?middle-groundââ?¬â?¢. Some of our new signings have shown enough to suggest that they will be decent purchases for us. Others still have some work to do to convince the majority that they have something to offer. However, as we are as a fanbase very hard to please, some of them will be written off no matter what they achieve at Rangers (just look at Peter Lovenkrands as an example). So folks, get yourself belted in and get ready to ride the rollercoaster that is Rangers FC. Estadio Santiago Bernabeu Just returned from Madrid were we visited the magnificent Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and have to say that the tour of the stadium is a must for all football fans. It was a privilege to have visited the home of Real Madrid and would highly recommend the tour. It cost E15 and unlike most stadium tours I have made, this is self paced and doesnââ?¬â?¢t include a tour guide. The only negative is that their isnââ?¬â?¢t anyone to ask question as most of the ââ?¬Ë?officialsââ?¬â?¢ situated around the tour area donââ?¬â?¢t speak English. However, you are given a brilliant tour ââ?¬Ë?bookletââ?¬â?¢ that is yours to keep. Tours run from 10:30AM to 7:00PM Monday to Saturday (until 6:30PM Sundays and bank holidays) ââ?¬â?? only closed Xmas and New Years Day. The tour starts with a lift up to the top tier for a panoramic view of the stadium (and surrounding area if you are interested) and you really appreciated the scale of the stadium when you are ââ?¬Ë?up in the Godsââ?¬â?¢. Then it is off to the ââ?¬Ë?Trophy Exhibitionââ?¬â?¢ which houses European Cups, UEFA Cups, League Trophies etc along with photos of famous matches, players etc. Next itââ?¬â?¢s a tour of the ââ?¬Ë?standsââ?¬â?¢ that includes the Presidential Box, Dug-Outs and a walk pitch-side and then to the dressing rooms via the tunnel. You only get to visit the away dressing room as the ââ?¬Ë?galactiosââ?¬â?¢ require their ââ?¬Ë?privacyââ?¬â?¢. From there you are directed into the press-room then the tour finishes in the club shop. One major factor in this tour is the Club Museum which hosts the ââ?¬Ë?Trophy Exhibitionââ?¬â?¢ and highlights why we really require something similar at Ibrox. The museum tracks the history of the club from its conception in 1902 up until the present day and houses all their trophies as well as shirts from players from every era of the club (not just at football but athletics, boxing, basketball etc). Another very interesting piece in the museum is a board that shows all players who have played for Real as well as their nationalities. There is one Scotsman by the name of Watson to have pulled on the famous white jersey. So all in all, the tour is well worth the E15 and it took us well over 2 hours to complete. There is no restrictions on camera or video equipment so you are free to capture all this history on film for future reference. Cammy F ââ?¬â?? We Are The Peopleââ?¬Â¦.

    Run DMB????

The other way around, but yeah.... Cammy F
  7. Wales couldn't 1/4 fill their stadium last night against the Germans - what chance a winters night v Scotland / NI / ROI? Cammy F
  8. NI done we out of £180 last night - had Scotland, England, NI, Germany and a draw between Sweden and Denmark Cammy F
  9. BC2 - Torbett was thrown out of the club, but was then reinstated. The significane of the Trophy Centre Contracts is that Celtic and theirt board happily gave business to a man thy knew had commited child abuse and was at the time, serving a prison sentance for this crime. Craig, it is not semantics - Rangers fans who sing BJK aren't singing about the act of child abuse, they are pointing out that Jock Stein knew about the abuse and DID NOTHING to stop it. As for the victims, off course I feel for them, pity Celtic don't - they have still to receive an apology from the club or anyone involved with the abuse and cover up. Yes it has nothing to do with ourt club, but there are plenty of songs sung that have nothing to do with Rangers - RB, GSTQ, The Bluebells, Bouncy etc - shall we stop singing them aswell? Cammy F
  10. Meaningless unless England are involved IMO. Will only draw average crowds (at best) and with Euro and WC qualifiers can't see this being taken seriously. Cammy F
  11. It isn't a song gloryfying Child Abuse or anyone who indulged in child abuse. It is a song that claims (rightly) that Big Jock Knew about said child abuse at Craptic Park and did NOTHING about it. Billy McNeil has stated that this was an open secret and it was proven in court that Big Jock and the board knew about this and did nothing to protect the children involved. Moreover, when Torbett was sent to jail (eventually) Craptic continued to give him business via The Trophy Centre (then owned by Torbett's daughter). Torbett is now (or was) working with the Scottish Tourist board along with convicted house breaker and woman beater Mossen (ex Lord Provest). Should the song be sung? All down to personal taste IMO. Isn't sectarian, isn't offensive, isn't racist and it is true. Cammy F

    Run DMB????

Who are Run DMC - one of the first major 'rap' groups - they are quite good, but not on par with Public Enemy or NWA. http://www.rundmcmusic.com/ Cammy F - Me & My Adidas Loyal RSC
  13. We've gotten a thread on our current best 11 - now one that focuses on our best 11 going forward for the next 3-5 seasons ; McGregor Hutton Webster CC Smith Whitty Thommo Fergie McCulloch SN Cousin Okay, we'll make some new signings and have players like Boyd, Broadfoot, Gow, Adam et al who hopefully will develop into first team regulars. It appears that not only building a team for 'now' WS, AMc and KMc are also building a team for the future. There are not many changes from the current strongest 11 to the players that can take us forward over the next 3/5 years (and it has a strong Scottish representation) Cammy F
  14. But due to the nature of the injury and Smith having missed pre-season, we won't know when he'll be ready for first team action. Same applies to Buffel who if fit and interested surely rates a mention in our best 11. Cammy F
  15. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JWBa5QvRfX4 Goals above and loving Novo and JCD's celebration after the 4th goal Cammy F
  16. Interesting true story from a guy who goes on our RSC bus and owns his own window cleaning firm. He landed a contract to clean a football players windows in Airth but didn't know / ask / care who this footballer was - it was business after all. Anyway, his firm was cleaning the windows for a while and no one ever saw who this mystery footballer was - they assumed that he was at training etc when they were cleaning his windows. So this goes on for a while until one day, the footballer appears at his door and asks the guy cleaning his windows to get his boss over now. The 'boss' was actually on the job that day and wandered over to see what the problem was. The footballer in question asked the 'boss' - 'Are all your guys Rangers fans' - the 'boss' replied - 'Not them all, but most of them'. The footballer then told the 'boss' to get his lads of his property and to 'fook off' and don't come back. It transpires that the footballer had heard one of the guys mobiles going off with Follow Follow as the ringtone and wan't a happy chappy. The footballer must have then decided that he didn't want Rangers fans cleaning his windows - the footballer in question - jeez should I spill the beans.... Craptic sub Derek Riorden Cammy F

  18. Very hard to chose a MON as we were very flat for an hour - torn between Webster and CC. Cammy F
  19. Craig, all about opinions, but 4-4-2 has delivered us 3 very easy and convincing victories at Ibrox so far - scoring plenty of goals and Falkirk apart, concending very few.... OK the oppo hasn't been the greatest, but against teams like Hearts, Hibs, AFC, Craptic, Killie etc who will offer more at Ibrox, and IMO 4-4-2 is the strongest formation that we have. 3-5-2 isn't set up for attacking football IMO - it stagnates teams as the wide men feel they have to defend rather that attack. in a 4-4-2 especially when you have only 1 forward to mark, both full backs have liecence to bomb forward (as Hutton does brilliantly as does Papac but less so - if that makes sense). The formation I'd like to see WS try at home more often is 4-3-3. We have the players for this and against teams playing defensively, it streches them more then 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. As we are a new team and have new players bedding in, in fully expect WS to (rightly) play it safe and play to our strengths. That means making us hard to score against and playing solid - rigid 4-4-2 (or 4-5-1). Over time, he may revert to other formations. Oh, and I don't think we can argue over the results delivered by these formations and tactics so far Cammy F
  20. Has to be 4-4-2 for domestic games ; McGregor Hutton Weir CC Papac Whitty Thommo Fergie McCulloch JCD Cousin For Europe and 'tough' domestic away games the 4-5-1 McGregor Hutton Weir CC Papac Whitty Thommo Hendami Fergie McCulloch / Beasley (as DMB gives you added pace) JCD or Cousin - both seem equally well equipted to play the lone striker role One thing that has really pleased me is that most of our signings can play in several positions. Faye can play midfield of denfence, McCulloch can play midfield or upfront, Beasley can play wide left or right, Naismith can play wide, through the middle or off the front (ditto Gow) - we have GENUINE options for the first time since the first to 50 season. Another positive is that we have signed players who genuinely seem to want to play for Rangers, and I am counting the 'foriegn' players in that as well. CC, JCD, Cousin, Faye etc have all said positive things about signing and playing for Rangers and Cousin and JCD are playing with niggles / injuries. WS has also signed Rangers fans in players like Carrol, McCulloch, Gow, Naismith and Whitty all of whom have spoken of their joy and desire to play for Rangers. We have a squad that is giving everything for us at the moment and as fans that is all we can ask for and long may that continue. If we can add a little sparkle to that, it may be a very successful season. Cammy F
  21. ... well, for the moment anyway ;-) , as we've got a very important SPL game on Saturday. We welcome Gretna to Ibrox for the first time (still doesn't look right - Rangers v Gretna!) and we must keep our minds on these type of games. Do we expect WS to 'rotate' his squad and bring in 'fringe players' like Gow, Broadfoot, Burke, Adam et al or do we expect WS to stick to his favoured team/squad selection ? IMO team (injuries permitting ) will be along familiar lines ; AMc Hutton Weir (who IMO needs a rest) / Webster CC Papac (or Broadfoot / new signing if Papac leaves before Saturday) Whitty Fergie Thomo McCulloch / Run DMB perm any 2 from JCD / Novo / Cousin / Boyd / a-n-other depending on transfers Cammy F
  22. SKY Sports Spanish journalist Graham Hunter has just been on giving reaction to todayââ?¬â?¢s CL draw and was asked what Barca think of being in the same group as Rangers. After talking about ââ?¬Ë?ticket scrambleââ?¬â?¢ etc he stated that Puyol, Barcaââ?¬â?¢s captain stated that Rangers were a ââ?¬Ë?mythical clubââ?¬â?¢ (think something got lost in translation there) and that Rangers were still revered by the Catalans for giving Francoââ?¬â?¢s Fascist Police ââ?¬Ë?a doingââ?¬â?¢ after being ââ?¬Ë?wrongly set uponââ?¬â?¢. That admission (not to say praise!) from Barcaââ?¬â?¢s captain certainly flies in the face of the eternal lies we have been fed by the TWATS (Tims With Typewriters). They have been telling anyone whoââ?¬â?¢ll listen to them since that we went over there raped, pillaged and in one cretins case, ransacked a Chapel. It is also worth noting that after UEFA had decided to ban us from Europe, we received an invitation to be part of the Juan Gampar tournament in 1974 ââ?¬â?? IIRC this was to celebrate Barcaââ?¬â?¢s 75th anniversary. I wonder if any of the unbiased Scottish press will run with Puyolââ?¬â?¢s kind and sincere words tomorrow? And I hope Graham Hunterââ?¬â?¢s house insurance is up to date. Cammy F
  23. I hope the whole fookin team, management and fans are 'fired' up for these games :fish: Cammy F
  24. A fantastic group to be involved in especially being paired with Barca - just a pity Gio left them in the Summer... Can't wait for these games to begin. Cammy F
  25. Well, it appears that Craptic FC deem it sectarian / offensive : "Celtic have warned staff that they can be sacked for calling Rangers fans 'huns'". The ban on the use of the word has also resulted in fans being thrown off the club's website. The club has revealed that any member of staff saying 'hun' can face disciplinary action or be sacked and fans may be asked to leave the ground if they use the word." http://www.ntvcelticfanzine.com/edit.../ed96hword.htm Cammy F
