  1. According to the breaking news on Evening Times, he has signed subject to work permit. Cammy F
  2. Better late than never, but welcome to Rangers Pedro - at last a real midfield player with genuine skill and ability. Now WS deliver us another 2 midfield players please...! Cammy F - Never Happy Loyal RSC
  3. The last time we won the SPL title, Novo scored over 20 goals playing alongside Prso - he looks far better suited to a 4-4-2 alongside a physical striker. Know what you mean regarding him being an impact player from the bench, but if he can get back to the form he showed during the helicopter sunday season, then he would be a major asset to us. Cammy F
  4. Don't think that would work, too similar. Has to a 'big man - wee man' combination - Boyd and Novo, Velicka and Novo, Boyd and Miller or Velicka and Miller. Velicka and Novo would be my preferred option Cammy F
  5. It is worth asking the question here, what other players have a release clause in their contracts? McGregor? Bougerra (sp)?, Thompson? Cammy F
  6. Team for the forthcoming weeks (if no new signings) : McGregor SW MD Weir Papac Beasley Thomson Hendami Lafferty Novo AV Cammy F BTW - Mark Bresciano would be an excellent signing
  7. If David Murray was to leave tomorrow (please, let this happen), I'd wish him all the best for the future. Cammy F
  8. After the woeful performances against Lithuanian Hearts, we are faced with the prospect of life without our stand-out player King Carlos. Carlos has activated a release clause in his contract and is on his way to Aston Villa. Depending on whether you believed the rumours, this move may have come as a surprise to some of us, but can any of us say we are shocked that our prize asset has been sold? Failing to qualify for the Champions League was always going to leave a gaping hole in our financial report and the only way to fill this hole was to sell players. The only player we currently have on our books who is worth any sort of money is Carlos. So it doesn’t take a genius to work out that he’d be the one that we’d lose. Some fans chose to believe SDM’s latest ramblings that any money recouped from transfers would be given to WS to strengthen the squad. I remain sceptical on this happening and await the closure of the transfer window with interest. Already the rumours (no doubt initiated by SDM’s lapdogs in the media) are flying through cyberspace on Rangers forums claiming that Lovenkrands, Loovens, Maloney et al are queuing up at Ross Hall for medicals prior to signing for Rangers. There are also rumours of bust-ups between McCoist and Bain and claims that McCoist has walked from his post. All in all, not the best publicity for our club and certainly not the behaviour you expect for Scotland’s premier club. So where does that leave Rangers FC? Well, we are a worse team / squad than we were last season and going on the 3 competitive games played this season, we look a team devoid of ideas, of guile and of genuine football players. I would venture to say that in the last week, our club has become a laughing stock and whilst this is hard to stomach, we have also take of the blinkers and acknowledge that we are also trailing our bitterest rivals both on and off the pitch. This is galling admission given how far ahead we were a decade ago. Whilst typing this disjointed article I can feel a lump in my throat and feel my stress levels reaching breaking point. The most frustrating thing about it, the majority of fans will just shrug this latest catastrophe off and still believe that SDM will deliver his promise of ‘moonbeams of success’. This certainly isn’t the Rangers that we deserve, and this certainly isn’t the Rangers that we all love. In fact, if this Rangers were your wife you would have divorced her, and if this Rangers were a family member, you’d have disowned them. However, this is OUR club and we are hardier than that. Will this downturn (downsizing) get any better? Not under the current regime and I can’t see enough support for change so we are stuck with what we have. Don’t know if any of the above makes sense, but I am seething at the moment so not much is making sense to be perfectly honest. Farewell Carlos, thanks for the memories and good luck in the future. For those of us left behind, strap yourselves in, its going to be a helter-skelter ride as fans of this great club vent their frustrations in ways that we all won’t agree on. Cammy F:rfc:
  9. I don't - after all, the buck stops with him... Cammy F
  10. But if you look back and catalog those 'minor details', David Murray has said some stupid things in his time. It is all those added together that show he isn't the man to take us forward. A few that instantly spring to mind : For every fiver Celtc spend, I'll spend a tenner Celtc supporters are more loyal than Rangers supporters We'll replace (insert transfered players name here) with better quality 'moonbeams of success' etc, etc Cammy F
  11. On Friday, David Murray, Martin Bain and Walter Smith told Rangers supporters that CC would only be sold for, and I quote 'funny money'. Now, I certainly don't regard £7.8M as 'funny money' when talking about the best centre-half we've had since Richard Gough. It is less than we got for Alan Hutton and less that Sunderland paid Hearts for Craig Gordon. At the time of making that statement, all three knew of this release clause - so why make the statement at all? Just another case of pish and wind for the master of pish and wind, SDM Cammy F
  12. So envoking change of the better will make us the laughing stock of the Tims - I don't see how that would happen. Lets look at it another way - some years ago, a certain Glasgow club were fleezing their fans dry, they were trailing their rivals on and off the pitch, they went thro managers like nobodies business but couldn't replicate the success of their rivals. Pi55ed off at this, a growing section of fans staged protests, walk-outs, stopped going to games and how their rivals laughed. Fast forward a few years and roles are reversed. Can you honestly say that they didn't envoke change and change their clubs fortunes for the better? I hate saying this, but they mobilised and they changed their club for the better. They were willing to listen to the 'titters' from us they changed their club - and boy, they did. Can we replicate what they did? Course we can, but initially, we must want to change the direction of the club - I fear not enough of us have the will, the heart, the fight in us to do so. That'll be our downfall. Cammy F
  13. We have to do something tho to get the message through to the powers that be that we ain't happy - turning up week in week out, cheering on no matter what the result isn't going to portray how unhappy we are. Nothing will change unless we push for change - its as simple as that Cammy F
  14. Check the dictionary  Cammy F
  15. If he was a great striker, we wouldn't have gotten him for £400,000 and he wouldn't be playing in the backwater that is the SPL. As many threads have developed into a 'he's the greatest' v 'he's not the greatest' - I'll leave it at that..... As for his performance on Saturday - dreadful in the first half - better in the 2nd - but to be fair to Boyd, that could be said of the majority of the players on Saturday. Cammy F
  16. EDIT - BTW, I am not a Rangers supporter, I am a Rangers FAN.. Cammy F
  17. Oh dear, so a supporter should just sit back and watch the club go to the wall than - dear, oh dear.... See when they come and chain up the main entrance at Ibrox and the club is no more, I hope and trust that your middle finger will still be waiving in the air, or firmly lodged up your arsehole. Are you happy with the direction of our club? Are you happy that we are a laughing stock? Are you happy watching all our decent players sold off? Are you happy being 2nd in a two horse race? Are you happy to pay 'top $' to watch a pile of shite on the pitch? Is this the Rangers we deserve? If not, your attitude is going to change all of the above... If you are happy with all of the above, I would suggest that those of us who aren't happy aren't the 'bawbags'.... Cammy F - Power To The Protesters Loyal RSC
  18. Well I hope those who choose to protest are treated more fairly than they were a couple of seasons ago - I was one who protested and was verbally and physically abused by fellow Rangers fans. If I'm through early enough I'll join the protest prior to kick-off and continue with anti-Murray chants through-out the game. Interesting to see if the Carlos transfer finally changes peoples attitude towards Murray. Cammy F - In A Murray Out Frame Of Mind Loyal RSC
  19. WS saying that he has money to spend and is looking at least 2 new players - so should we expect another defensive midfield player and another striker to sign soon  Cammy F
  20. Seriously? He's played 4-4-2 in every game so far this season (CL qualifiers and friendlies) and it's hardly been a success has it? We (currently) don't have the players to deploy a successfull 4-4-2 formation. We have no wide players, we have no one who can deliver quality into the box on a regular basis and our defence is hardly the tightest. WS will revert back to 4-5-1 sooner rather than later - will it be enough to see is still in the SPL race after only 4 games? My heart says yes, my head says no. Again going with my heart, I predict 3-1 Rangers tomorrow, my head is telling me 2-1 Falkirk Cammy F
  21. I am not getting involved in this debate (most know my feelings and stance on SDM), but have to say, the whole topic makes very interesting reading! Cammy F
  22. Given the new injury news (Miller and Carlos are out), I'd go for : Alexander SW Broadfoot Dailly Papac Fleck Thommo Bougerra Lafferty JCD / Cousin Boyd However, I think Smith will go 4-5-1 McGregor Broadfooot Bougerra Dailly Papac McCulloch Thommo Hendami Adam Lafferty JCD Cammy F
  23. David Murray will not sack Walter Smith and I can't see Walter Smith resigning - so it looks like we're stuck with Walter for the time being. Our only hope is that SDM and Bain are keeping one eye on the managerial market and have a few DECENT names in the frame for if / when Rangers and Smith part company. Cammy F
  24. Not Aberdeen's fault - purely down to Rangers' greed - and as Calscot said, didn't you just know that it would be the Rangers support that would end up paying for this. Cammy F
  25. Novo and Weir both suspended... My team would be Alexander Broadfoot CC Dailly Papac SW Thommo Bougghera Lafferty Boyd Miller If CC isn't fit, i'd play Dailly and Bougherra (sp) in centre of defence and throw Furman or Fleck into midfield Cammy F
