  1. I really don't care about Thursday. Sunday is the acid test for us. Another defeat and the manager must be removed and replaced.
  2. I was maoning about being cut adrift in 3rd place when we were cut adrift in 3rd place. We're still in 3rd place and achieved the square root of nothing. If Rangers fans are celebrating almost catching Aberdeen yet still being 11 points behind Celtic, I suggest our standards and expectations are lower than I thought. Oh and accepting being 2nd best? Not for me.
  3. No Rangers manager should be "bigging them up". That's twice in just over a week he's done it.
  4. Exactly what I thought when I heard those comments. Setting the narrative before a ball is kicked.
  5. Rangers 2 v 0 Ross County Cerny FGS
  6. Premiership very unpredictable this season. Liverpool's title to throw away.
  7. I can't remember if Stuart or someone else (maybe someone called Sandy) ran the original messageboard back in the day. I'm sure that's where Gersnet was "formed" or it was where we were all pointed in the direction of Gersnet. Sites came a long way since those early days of the Internet/social media. Some characters throughout the years, that's for sure.
  8. Think I was "out the country".

    Time wasting

Think this is a good idea but since its been about 3 decades since we scored from a corner, not going to be much help for us 😀
  10. Weirdly, given our result in Nice, Thursday is a "free hit" for us and I'd say its the least important game of the three. Three points are vital in Dingwall and we really need to start beating Celtic and what better way than in a Hampden cup final. The big question regarding the game on Sunday is which version of Rangers turns up!! Never easy to predict.
  11. Didn't we have a set-piece coach under Gerrard?
  12. As @Frankie says, many of us did, but I might have been a bit more "vocal" though (some things never change 😉 😀).
  13. I get the argument that all the players we signed don't necessarily need to improve our starting 11. However, if we are spending a chunk of our budget on "X", they must be ready to start and be an upgrade on what we currently have, otherwise we'll struggle to improve (and signing them becomes pointless if it's just to cut wages). Most teams do rotate and using your example of Celtic and McGowan, it was a low risk signing for them. They have more quality than us and more money, so signings like McGowan are easy for them and very low risk (financially). I agree regarding Cameron, a player we should be looking to get signed up in a free-transfer. For me the Shankland shipped has sailed. However if we pick him up on a free and he is willing to accept the same wages at Rangers as he's currently on, then it becomes a low risk signing. We shouldn't be paying a fee for him, or offering him more than he is currently on. We've had undoubted success in the Scottish market both historically and recently, but the quality of player we require and can afford is now a rarity in Scotland. That's not to say there won't be exceptions, we just need to identify them and sign them before they are tempted elsewhere.
  14. Do we know if the staff wage bill have been cut in line with the players?
  15. I think a destroyer is a priority, just behind a number 9 and Boateng is worth watching.
  16. What narrow parameters? Do you think there are 3 players currently playing in Scotland who could improve our starting 11 that we could afford? It's a simple question. There is no point of suggesting players who would possibly improve us (Lennon Miller as an example) that we can't afford.
  17. It's imperative that we improve our starting 11. Have you watched us this season? 😀 If these players or on a free, all well and good, but Cameron will have a choice of clubs (who'll be paying better wages and offering a larger signing on fee). Lennon Miller is way out of our price range. Ross Graham wouldn't get 10 games a season for us. I don't hate Shankland just don't get what people see in him. He's had 3 good seasons in his career and has reverted to type. Boats sailed.
  18. Could you name three players currently playing in Scotland (outwith Celtic and within our very limited budget) who'd immediately improve our starting 11 (don't think I could). Or are all these signings from Scotland be "projects" for the future like Bailey Rice?
  19. As long as it is not "exclusively". If it is, shut the doors and turn the lights out.
  20. Not what I said. If our scouts and footballing departments imagination only stretches as far as Gorgie Road then God help us. Koppen has already said the Scottish market is one we are going to explore, if that didn't set alarm bells ringing then nothing will. Don't think anyone was critical of the thinking behind the Igamane signing, it was the fact he wasn't fit nor ready to contribute at a time when we only had 1 fit striker. At close to £2M and given where we are financially, we needed a player who contributed in July not November, when we are out of the CL and watching Celtic disappearing over the horizon domestically
  21. But it isn't the market we should be in. Its a lazy signing if it ever happens. I'm sure there are far better players than Shankland out there that we could get for similar wages and who might have a sell-on value. For the umpteenth time, if Lawrence Shankland is the type of player we are looking to sign, then we'd be as closing the doors.
  22. Agreed, but at this point in time Dessers is a better option than Shankland.
  23. Disagree, Durie came with a very good pedigree having played in England's top flight and Dodds was an excellent scorer in the Scottish League.
  24. The most worrying aspect is the complete and utter apathy towards, and acceptance, of this contunied gross mismanagement from the majority of the fans. Impatient and unrealistic they scream, give them a chance to get things right they say. No thanks, times up. There's more chance of them closing us down than there is to make us a force against.
  25. Your examples aren't the same scenario as Shankland. Dodds in particular scored goals every season in the top league. They both played in far superior Rangers teams than the present team.
