  1. I'm positive that as long as the shirt pulling continues into the box, it's a penalty. That's what both ex-refs have said. If you watch the link to Sportscene, Sclaes "fouls" Cerny by attempting to trip him (outside the box) but it's the tug of the jersey and shorts that brings Cerny down and that's inside the box.
  2. Only my opinion but I believe Butland was signed with the single intention of selling quickly for a decent fee (£5-£7M), which is exactly what we have to do. We signed Liam Kelly in the same window, so IMO he was / is Butlands replacement. However, Butland hasn't shown any evidence of being a £5-£7M goalie and we are now left with another high earner on a long contract that we can't shift.
  3. More evidence if any were required, even Sportscene saying it was a penalty. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/SYBg67DMBzFrrU5p/
  4. I was in the East Enclosure so as "neutral" in the whole event and repercussions 😀 I only know it was 40 years as Follow Follow posted it over the weekend, but you are correct, it sure feels like a long time ago.
  5. Twice IIRC in a 4-4 draw at Ibrox. I think that was early March and I went to see The Cramps at Barrowland straight after the game. Sure he also missed a penalty against Celtic at Parkhead in a 1-1 draw. Davie Cooper scoring a late equaliser for us. I remember signing him and Iain Ferguson from Dundee and being quite excited about the double signing. I met Cammy Fraser in early 90s when he was part of a crew renovating my work building and he was more than happy to talk about his time at Rangers. This was around the time when fanzines exploded and I was penning an article that I hoped would be published in No1 Fanzine (about the referee Willie Young) and was struggling for a name to write under, so chose Cammy Frasers Moustache.
  6. Maybe we should bring back the Donkey Of The Week award that we used to hand out here many moons ago. Saying that, I was sick of winning it (in truth it went to Graeme Speirs most weeks).
  7. I agree with Compo but thought I'd register a vote. However, having looked through the options 3 times, I'm passing.
  8. I've previously advocated a 'none of the above' option 😀
  9. This weekend marked the 40th anniversary of Cammy Fraser flicking the "V's" to the Govan Stand. This led to an almost pantomime scenario between those fans seated in the Govan and Copland Road, with the Copland singing "it's only Tims in the Govan". There has been rumours of confrontations between fans outside the ground after the incident. Instead of marking the end of Fraser at Rangers, he last another 3 years and some Rangers fans were angry that Souness retained Fraser and sold Bobby Russell. Russell does mention tihs in hos book and confirms that he had a bad knee injury and this was the reason he was sold. Anyway, in memory and celebration of my non de plume and in the spirit of Christams
  10. Well take your own advice and put me on ignore or skip my posts .
  11. I agree 100% with your summary of the game. Whilst most Rangers fans were wetting their pants at the thought of Tav being exposed, they decided to target our left backs. The 1st half we were solid and took the lead then squandered a great opportunity to go 2-0 when Igamane chose the wrong option when we broke 4 on 1. 2nd half was poor from a defensive and ball retention perspective. The closing down we witnessed in the 1st half wasn't there. That night have been down to the energy exerted in 1st half and Thursday. I would say the team selection was wrong given the effort put in on Thursday. Several players looked leggy even in the 1st half. I'll be honest and say that I never felt confident of winning at any time in the game yesterday. They have better attacking options than we do, they are fitter than we are and are better coached. If we had gone in at halftime 2-0 up, it may have been a different story. However as it turned out, they came out and quickly started to dominate possession and scored 2 quick goals. We did well getting back to 2-2 then we lost another sloppy goal. Danilo's lated headed equaliser (great goal) just delayed the inevitable. Extra-time we were chasing shadows and did well not to conceded. Penalties are a lottery but for the first time in years, I had no confidence in Butland saving one. I think he's only saved 1 pen in his time here. Previously with keepers like McGregor and even Alexander, you had belief they would save at least one, and they usually did. Unfortunately Butland never go near one so our only real hope was them blasting one over the bar. I can't agree with the rest, but willing to be proven wrong.
  12. If having a different opinion, not accepting being contunual losers makes me a flat earther than so be it. Enjoy mediocrity, enjoy being 2nd best, enjoy this supposed "progress".
  13. Then we have no hope. We'll not win the league with these players, this manager and under this ownership.
  14. Another ex-ref saying it was a penalty and VAR got it wrong. Although the Record "journalists" attempt to play it down.
  15. We lost again, I give up. I'm done with this. Noticed you didn't answer the question. When does it become acceptable to sack Clement? If / when we fall.further behind in the league? If we don't beat them on January 2nd? If we are trailing them in October 2025? Never?
  16. Well Mr Thornton and Mr Stewart, if you have the appetite for a fight with the SFA / SPFL, here's you're starter for 10. Over to yous bobby_madden I’ve commented on decisions for over a year and this is one of the very few that are factual. No debate, no subjectively, no ambiguity. There is holding inside the penalty area. Free kick was awarded and should be changed to a penalty. Quite simple and It’s difficult to understand why people are so upset with that opinion. As it’s a factual decision there would be no need for referee to go to monitor. Advice should have come from VAR, referee makes tv signal and awards penalty. That’s it. The referee team had an excellent game and this is a very tough call live. VAR has to identify the offence, again, this is why VAR was introduced.
  17. So when does it become acceptable to sack him? The reasons you have given aren't reasons not to sack him. Let's not forget, not to long ago we won our 55th title and got to a EL Final. The manager who got us to the EL Final was sacked for less. I just don't get this projection from fans that Clement is unsackable just because we are skint and managed to beat Killie and Ross County. The project is a myth and most fans have fallen for it.
  18. It won't be but calling them out would be a real signal of intent and show we are no longer willing to let them away with things. Won't hold my breath though.
  19. He has but that's nothing new, it's been happening for years. He's also taken a few beatings that had nothing to do with ref and VAR. He mentioned the decision in his post-match press conference, good on him but the board will not back him or take it further. Dignified silence as per usual. The game was there for us to win today, and yet again, we fell short. We had a chance to go 2-0 up when we had a 4 v 1 and again we took the wrong option. Instead of building on the 1st half performance we sat off them, allowed them to pass the ball around at will and lost 3 terrible goals (not for the 1st time). We have a terrible trait of only playing for 1 half and today was a continuation of that. We did well to recover from losing 2 quick goals, then proceeded to lose a 3rd. We can blame the ref and VAR, but in reality we need to look closer to home.
  20. Mr Thornton and Mr Stewart have their work cut out. They start their roles tomorrow and have to hit the ground running and start making real tough decisions that will have a real impact on our financial and footballing operation. Tough gig lads.
  21. Clement now has the worst starting record in OF games of any Rangers manager in our history. The league was over in October, we've lost the 1st domestic cup of the season and Celtic are cantering away towards another treble. But we beat Killie and Ross County, drew with Spurs so we're progressing. Hopefully the new CEO and Chairman give Clement another new contract tomorrow. In summary all sunshine and roses over Ibrox way. We'll batter them on the 2nd of January it's written in the stars.
  22. Hahaha - aye we're progressing over the last month or so. Yet we've fallen further behind and lost a cup final. Some progression. If we keep progressing at this rate, then we'll finally beat them in 2029.
  23. Ridvan, the player who we were told was the future of the club. A player who was elevated to being a "great player" simply because his name wasn't Borna Barasic and got "better" the more he sat on the injury table. As you say, get rid of him and before anyone jumps in, he isn't the only one not good enough but epitomises everything that's wrong with us.
