  1. I think he just took the easy option and passed to Bajrami when he could have slid in Cerny (it's not a difficult pass as he photo above shows). However it's over and done with and we have to move on.
  2. Why did Igamane chose to pass to Cerny here? Every time I see this it gets worse.
  3. Agreed, it was a hard call for Beaton to make in real time as Cerny falls out of the box when pulled over. VAR have no excuse for missing this as one look at the still and the replay clearly shows its a penalty. There is no debate or uncertainty, it's a penalty. As for the extremist fringe of their support, you are 100% correct. I'd say it isn't just the extremist element who will participate in intimidation.
  4. With so many ex-referees now posting their thoughts on social media immediately after games, I'd employ one of them and get them posting via our social media platforms highlighting these clear and obvious errors / honest mistakes.
  5. See what happens when you put pressure on them? They are terrified to give us a decision. The "Penalty to Rangers" campaign has also worked a treat. 1 penalty awarded domestically this season. However, there are still Rangers fans happy for us to ignore this (one on here but I think he's a troll more than a fan) and continue to watch us cheated week in, week out. The silence from the board shows they appear to be willing to ignore this. Let that sink in.......
  6. Any of our elder statesmen care to give a view on who was better, Kevin Keegan or Kenny Dalglish? Personally, I mostly remember KD from his Liverpool and Scotland days and didn't see much of Keegan as he moved to Germany. From what I do remember, Dalglish was probably the more talented but Keegan had an unbelievable desire and was more tenacious. His international career was also probably better than Dalglish. Interested in others opinions.
  7. And sometime after Cerny hits the ground. So another honest mistake that'll be swept under the (bulging) carpet. As for VAR, I think we all know why it didn't intervene.
  8. As you say, the incident happened / developed that quickly, it's hard to imagine Bearon blew for a foul before Cerny was in the box. I'm sure we'll get the audio to clear things up. If Beaton has blown then it's an error on him, as you are meant to allow play to develop and then make your decision. Also, I don't know why he'd have blown before Cerny has his shirt/shorts pulled. The video clips show Cerny was in the box when this initiated, then fell out of the box. In my opinion that's why Beaton gave a free-kick and not a penalty (understandably).
  9. Here's the exact moment we lost the cup final in my opinion.
  10. Agree, as long as it's not that one who sent Jefte off in the CL qualifier 😀
  11. Not posted in here for a while, but loving the thread. Here's a couple - 3 fantastic Dutch / AC Milan players and some great players on the 1979 Ballon D'Or rankings.
  12. Also, a perfectly good goal chopped off in last seasons SCF when VAR couldn't wait to get involved.
  13. Here is IFAB rule 12 ; "If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick."
  14. This clip also shows that the pull started when Cerny's foot is in the box, he then falls out of the box. https://x.com/TrongateTramps/status/1868354188952088593?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1868354188952088593|twgr^2feba0d47a7f5406b51ce38909e7bd251199feb2|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.followfollow.com%2Fforum%2Fthreads%2Fbobby-madden-it-was-a-penalty.288339%2F
  15. I'm positive that as long as the shirt pulling continues into the box, it's a penalty. That's what both ex-refs have said. If you watch the link to Sportscene, Sclaes "fouls" Cerny by attempting to trip him (outside the box) but it's the tug of the jersey and shorts that brings Cerny down and that's inside the box.
  16. Only my opinion but I believe Butland was signed with the single intention of selling quickly for a decent fee (£5-£7M), which is exactly what we have to do. We signed Liam Kelly in the same window, so IMO he was / is Butlands replacement. However, Butland hasn't shown any evidence of being a £5-£7M goalie and we are now left with another high earner on a long contract that we can't shift.
  17. More evidence if any were required, even Sportscene saying it was a penalty. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/SYBg67DMBzFrrU5p/
  18. I was in the East Enclosure so as "neutral" in the whole event and repercussions 😀 I only know it was 40 years as Follow Follow posted it over the weekend, but you are correct, it sure feels like a long time ago.
  19. Twice IIRC in a 4-4 draw at Ibrox. I think that was early March and I went to see The Cramps at Barrowland straight after the game. Sure he also missed a penalty against Celtic at Parkhead in a 1-1 draw. Davie Cooper scoring a late equaliser for us. I remember signing him and Iain Ferguson from Dundee and being quite excited about the double signing. I met Cammy Fraser in early 90s when he was part of a crew renovating my work building and he was more than happy to talk about his time at Rangers. This was around the time when fanzines exploded and I was penning an article that I hoped would be published in No1 Fanzine (about the referee Willie Young) and was struggling for a name to write under, so chose Cammy Frasers Moustache.
  20. Maybe we should bring back the Donkey Of The Week award that we used to hand out here many moons ago. Saying that, I was sick of winning it (in truth it went to Graeme Speirs most weeks).
  21. I agree with Compo but thought I'd register a vote. However, having looked through the options 3 times, I'm passing.
  22. I've previously advocated a 'none of the above' option 😀
  23. This weekend marked the 40th anniversary of Cammy Fraser flicking the "V's" to the Govan Stand. This led to an almost pantomime scenario between those fans seated in the Govan and Copland Road, with the Copland singing "it's only Tims in the Govan". There has been rumours of confrontations between fans outside the ground after the incident. Instead of marking the end of Fraser at Rangers, he last another 3 years and some Rangers fans were angry that Souness retained Fraser and sold Bobby Russell. Russell does mention tihs in hos book and confirms that he had a bad knee injury and this was the reason he was sold. Anyway, in memory and celebration of my non de plume and in the spirit of Christams
  24. Well take your own advice and put me on ignore or skip my posts .
