  1. No, they said they were impressed with Clement, but were more impressed with the 2 other candidates. The point is, there is no point in hiring/involving football people.if you arent going to listen to them. However, the is no guarantee that if we'd gone with Lampard or Muscat that things would wlhave turned out differently. Edit - if you mean after the fact, then yes he did say they were impressed with Clement.
  2. We did get footballing people involved when hiring Clement but the board chose not to listen to their opinion. By admitting in July that we weren't going to win the league, we gave the players and manager a ready made excuse, and it's an excuse some fans are clinging to. God help us if Clement remains in charge until 2028.
  3. Changing coaches isn't a free especially when he was rewarded with a new and improved contract. However, the continued loss of form doesn't come free either. Is the money we are losing real or Monopoly? As an example, I know of someone who didn't renew their Club Europa tickets this season due to teams form. He is still getting emails asking him to renew. But it's OK, you stay in the land of Monopoly money, magic beans and magic mushrooms making invalid excuses for us being 12 points adrift on 29th December and how we can't sack an inept manager. Keeping him will be more costly than sacking him.
  4. Can't agree, this manager has taken us backwards. Those who were gullible enough to accept this fable that we were never challenging domestically this season must admit the loss of 16 points is unacceptable. The manager was backed in the summer and his signings have yet to show the quality or consistency we require. We had 1 fit striker from July to October. His team selections are baffling and I've lost count the amount of games where he has had to make changes at half-time in an attempt to rectify his mistakes. As for being goaded by the press and a yahoo infested forum, don't insult my intelligence. My opinion is based on watching the worst Rangers team since Pedro's time and the worst Rangers manager since Pedro. I wonder how some will talk away another defeat be it today, Thursday or next weekend? Because Sunday wasn't a "bump", Sunday was the norm.

As an aside, plenty fans beat the drum for young players getting the chance in the 1st team without actually being aware of how good / ready they are. Whilst watching the B-Team in the Lowland Leagues, the crowds at their games were "sparce". Maybe the club need to try incentives to get fans to attend B Team games on a regular basis.
  6. So in the direct quote above where have I mentioned the need to spend money? I think you've been eating magic beans, or maybe magic mushrooms. Zoomer.

The time for this was 2012 but we decided to buy players like Kevin Kyle to get us back up through the leagues. When we did get our B Team accepted into the Lowland League (not ideal, but they were playing competitive games), we then threw the toys out the pram when our suggestion of gaining access to the league structure via Lowland League was vetoed. I watch the B Team semi regularly in the Lowland League and most players blew "hot and cold", which is to be expected for young players. We need a re-think as to what is the best way to develop the B Team, as the current format isn't working.
  8. For someone who complained about other posters being trolls, your not bad at it yourself. Please find a post where I've said we have any money to spend in January? If you can't (and you won't), an apology would be acceptable reply.
  9. Just heard that one of the subs St Mirren brought on, 17 year old Callum Penman was not long signed from Sygenta and was on-loan at Linlithgow Rose last season. Nevermid, due to wage cuts, we shouldn't be expecting to beat St Mirren. Don't know whether to laugh or cry.....
  10. You have a fantastic ability to ignore what I've actually written. I mentioned finance, you've just chose to ignore it (again). I am just a poster on a message board, so are you, so what's your point? The comment about a release clause was sarcasm. Imagine giving a failure an improved contract - was Mr Bennett involved in that fantastic decision? As for Mr Bennett, would that be the same Mr Bennett who was part of the board who got us into this cluster fuck of mess due to gross mismanagement?
  11. But keeping him as manager is costing us financially. You're delusional if you believe keeping him as manager is going to fix anything. We're regressing under Clement Maybe there is a release clause in that new improved contract the board gave him? You keep implying I've learnt nothing from 2012 when I was one of the first fans to warn where we were heading under Murray. Cloud cuckoo land stuff. Said previously we need to separate what is required short-term to fix the team and mid to long-term fix for the board. As @Sutton_blows_goats says, the board are only keeping Clement employed as it takes the fans focus away from them. Basically, he's their useful idiot.
  12. Hagi was trying, maybe even trying too hard in 2nd half. However, he was getting caught offside frequently in that 2nd half, don't know if its down to lack of pace?
  13. None of the above.
  14. We don't need to spend money for short-term improvements, we just need a coach who can coach the players in a system that will consistently win games and improve their fitness. Where have I ignored what's gone on in the past? The board have missmanged the club for years, that's as obvious to all who support Rangers. This mismanagement is both in recruitment and financial. The blame for where we are lies firmly at the door of the board. We can separate what is required "team wise" short-term from what is required "financially" medium to long-term. The board have once again chosen the incorrect manager (they have gotten 1 out of 5 correct since we got back into the SPL. They have also squandered untold millions on players, managers, other staff in those years as well as making some very costly financial mistakes. Given that, are we to expect them to suddenly start getting things correct? What signs are we seeing that we are getting better on and off the pitch? We are a mess from top to bottom and it's getting worse by the day. If I'm living in fairyland, you've got your head buried in the sand and are delusional if you believe the current incumbents (manager and board) are going to make us a force again.
  15. They are and it's the board that have gotten us where we are. They are solely to blame and only they can fix this. Given their recent decision making, it's hard to see how they will do this. That means more years of gross mismanagement. However, that doesn't excuse or detract from the fact that the manager is out of his depth. If the only reason the board are keeping him in the job is to deflect criticism from them, then it's further evidence that they are not fit for purpose.
  16. It does if your players approach the games correctly and are coached in a system that overruns lesser opponents. It's unrealistic to expect to win every game, but we've dropped 16 points this season. That's unacceptable no matter how you paint it.
  17. No, I knew we'd lose yesterday after 10mins - toy told me to put my handbag away as we'd win - who's living in fairyland? Any decent manager should be able to have us close to Celtic. Accepting and excusing being 12 points adrift at Christmas and dropping 16 points, that's living in fairyland.
  18. I'm not, and appear to be in the minority. If we were 3 points behind Celtic, we'd have a chance of going top on 2nd January. As it stands we will be at least 15 points behind - losing mentality breeds losers. Welcome to Rangers.
  19. The same thing Walter Smith did when he replaced PLG - signed two no nonsense centre half's and we suddenly stopped conceding goals. Not rocket science.
  20. I keep hearing that word "unrealistic". Is it unrealistic to expect Rangers to be beating the likes of St Mirren? Is it unrealistic to expect Rangers to not be so far behind Celtic in December? I'd say some are accepting it and others are excusing it. Either way, we appear to have lost the winning mentally that made the club what it is. The word we should be using when referring to Rangers at the moment (all levels) is incompetence.
  21. As I said, he had less to chose from. Clements OF record isn't anything to shout about 😀
  22. BF all the way 😀 Pedro was a farce but he had nothing to work with, Jon Toral says it all really 😀
