We should be building a team that consistently wins games in a backwater league. Having a player who has scored 24 goals in a year would normally help, but in our case hinders?? We really are an anomaly under Clement.

Obviously not rated by Clement. Not seen anything from King to suggest he had any future at the club. However, he was a centre-half and today we are screaming out for a centre-half. Will be interesting to see if Propper or Sterling get injured today, will he bring on Cortes or King.... 😀

But the data is for 8 games. Over a season there will be performances that show "improvement", we had them when Dessers played, we've had them when he hasn't played. He's the leagues top scorer in 2024, if I were the coach I'd be looking at getting a system in place that complements this. If he can be top scorer playing in a system he's not suited to, one wonders what he'd do playing in a system that does suit him. Either way, it appears Clement doesn't rate him and prefers Danilo and / or Igamane.

So why have we stopped performing / winning? I still don't see a style. We still have full backs firing balls into the box where we only have 1 isolated striker. We overplay far to often, we continually take the wrong option in the forward areas (see league cup final 4 v 1 as an example). We are over-egging the slightest improvement we witnessed (lasted about 3 weeks). Those 3 or 4 improved performances (which only included 2 wins - home to Killie and away to Ross County) appear to have been the exceptions to the rule.

Over 8 games that looks to be the case. In most of those 8 games we played 2 strikers and changed our tactics. Then in the last two (three if you count today), we've gone back to 1 striker and we've lost points.

Any beating from them is a punishment beating one way or another. Today likely to be another beating, severity TBC.

August to November, Dessers was our only fit striker.

Interestingly Clement mentioned this when he first signed. He said we needed players who could play 90mins, three times a week. He mentioned a perceived lack of fitness and had a dig at Beale's "pre-season" and how this was behind the amount of injuries. He said that it would be one of the 1st things he'd address. Recently Clement has said the exact opposite in that no player can be expected to play this amount of minutes / games. Is Clement being driven by and over relying on the sport science team? Our fitness and injuries haven't got any better under Clement (could be argued they have gotten worse) and the length of absence even for a "small knock" appears to be weeks rather than days.

So quite hard to determine as twice as many games with Dessers. Is this games where Dessers started? Came on as a sub? Or both? Worth noting, we got to the final of the league cup, Dessers played (and scored IIRC) in every round with the exception of the final. We must be the only fans who'll talk down having the leagues top scorer (in past 12 months). If only we had another 2 or 3 players on that list, we'd be far more competitive.

Wasn't the Igamane fee circa £2M depending in add-ons?

I didn't realise that the panel were allowed to set add-ons and sell on clause. Has there been any other cases where they have? Seems "weird" that the figures above are close to both what Rangers offered (£500K against immediate fee of (£640K) and what Aberdeen were looking for (circa £1M against circa £900K with add-ons plus 10% of what he is sold for).

That's exactly what it is. Dessers isn't the main issue. Dessers being the only player who scores regularly is the main issue.
