Match Thread [FT] Rangers 1 (Cerny 66') - 1 Dundee Utd

That's too simplistic. We have a habit of playing well / acceptable in 1 half of a game, yesterday the latest example. I don't think it matters who starts or who comes on, until we can play for a full 90mins we'll struggle. Hibs, Hearts and St Johnstone (Hampden cup game) are other examples where players who finished the game yesterday, started in those games where we also struggled. Also, the manager has no clue as to what is his strongest 11 as he refuses to play a settled team. -

I'm utterly dreading playing Spurs and Man U. In fact, I dread us playing anyone at the moment. -

We are so easy to play against. We never score from a set-piece, so teams can feel safe giving away corners and free-kicks. Our full-backs are no longer a goal threat, so teams can feel safe allowing our full-backs time on the ball. Our midfield three offer zero goal threat so again they can be allowed time and space on the ball. That leaves our front three - no matter who starts, we are over reliant on them scoring goals and winning games. Dessers and Cerny have chipped in with a few. Our defence is fragile and our keeper is rooted to his line most of the time, so we conceded on a regular basis. -

Rumours that there is a board meeting today to discuss Clement's future. If true, hopefully, Stewart and Offord are both involved. -

With the weather yesterday and delayed kick off I was in two minds whether to go or not. Stupidly I decided to go but after the opening 10mins knew we weren't going to win (or would struggle to win). As you said the result and performance weren't a surprise, it's now standard for this Rangers team 11 points behind after just 12 games - at this rate, they'll wrap the league up when they beat us on 2nd January (in all honesty the league is already gone and we're not out of November). There are no signs of improvement, if anything we are getting worse every passing game. Yesterday may be my last game for a while. -

Hearing that Lawrence Shankland was booed by his own fans tonight. Perfect preparation for him signing for us. -

Wonder why these names have been leaked today/tonight? Both have decent CVs so hopefully some truth in them. -

We have scored 17 league goals this and 6 of those were in 1 game (so 11 in the other 11). Today's opponents have scored 2 more goals than us this season, Aberdeen 8 more and Celtic have scored double our amount. We are the only team in the top division not to have scored a league goal from a set-piece. -

I've not felt so disengaged from the club in the 43 years I've been actively following Rangers. -

I think the fans apathy (not going to games) might be the only thing that gets rid of Clement. It was noticeable today that many fans didn't return for the 2nd half. -

When Clement joined he appeared to favour Danilo over Dessers but chopped and changed the team. Danilo got injured and Dessers became the number 9 scored 20 goals. The player who dragged us back into the game today was Cerny in my opinion. He was our best player. Hagi did add something though. It was yet another game where we struggled for 45mins then played OK for 45mins. -

If its stats that determine how good / bad things are, in the last 23 league games, our record is worse than it was under Warburton's last 23 games. We have managed to be worse than a team that contained Holt, Halliday, Jo Dodoo and a 34 year old Kenny Miller (who I'd take over any of our current front 3). -

Those stats don't score goals or get you points, you need to put the ball in the net and at the moment, Dessers is the only one of those 3 who scores on a semi-regular basis. Playing 1 up top isn't working no matter if its Dessers, Danilo or Igamane. 3 times in first half we fired a ball into the box from the left and Dessers was the only Rangers player in the box. Dundee United had 5 players. We need to try something different- play two up top. It can't be any worse. -

So? He still isn't good enough and should have scored today. We have 3 number 9s, that cost in excess of £11M Dessers - garbage but scores goals occasionally. Danilo - unavailable for huge periods due to injury and doesn't look like he'll score. Igamane - looks like he's never seen a football in his life. We have no tactics, we can't defend, our midfield gets overran and our forward players are disjointed. We are going backwards at an alarming rate, but it's OK Danilo's stats are better than Dessers. If only those stats had scored today. -

Wouldn't be any worse than the coach / manager we have. Back on topic, Lord Offord has some job on his hands. Good luck to him and hopefully his 1st duty is to sack Clement and put us all out our misery. -

It appears Danilo is as ineffective as Dessers when it comes to putting the ball in the net. Dessers would have been crucified for that Danilo miss. Whoever scouted and said we'd be unable to afford Igamane next season needs sacked We're just a poorly coached team with no style. We're slow, pedestrian, lack focus and determination. -
