I like the idea of 3-5-2 and when we have played it I think it has looked as if it might work longer term. I would have Hodson as one of the three with Tav and Barrie as the WB's. Up top should be Garner and Waghorn, with Hyndman in behind. Two things that really need sorted are 1) Stop fannying around at the back, if they are pressing high, get the ball forward early. 2) Play the ball into the box earlier especially from wide areas.

Maybe so and I apologise for any offence, but booing your team off the park is Tim behaviour in my opinion and helps no-one, especially players short on confidence. -

No-one is saying we were like Barca but we dominated that game for 75mins at least. No-one is happy with a draw, but you can't boo the team when they dominate for so long and create so many chances. Anyone booing that at the end has an ulterior motive in my opinion and went today hoping it went that way. -

I think some of our fans are desperate to boo the team. Overall that was a decent performance even though many players look to be lacking confidence. Tav was excellent today, he needs to produce that level every game. -
Getting rid of the manager is the usual short term, kneejerk reaction that could set us back years. Do people really believe that if we sack MW and bring in Stuart McCall these players will suddenly be playing wonderful football. Does anyone remember the last two games when McCall was manager?! Tonight was an absolute shambles and every single one of our players should be getting it tight. Their players wanted it so much more than ours and that's not acceptable. The players need to have a long hard look at their own performances.

The alternative tops available now are not really an alternative though. A real alternative would be shipping 50k tops a season. We are a massive support who are unwilling to buy the official merchandise, we need unofficial merchandise that we know will deliver a big get it up you to SD and also give a cash injection to the club. People need to equate the alternative with the club, they need to know that they are contributing. Problem with the likes of Lionbrand is firstly that most fans have never heard of them and secondly many of those who have don't see how they benefit the club (that's not a criticism of them). C1872 have the resources to promote a real alternative.

The comment on the main page about a fans top is spot on. C1872 should seriously look into an alternative to the official top with profits being used to buy shares in a new share issue. Unofficial support from the club eg. Players leaving training wearing the top or ex players photographed wearing it would help promote it. You just have to look at the success of the red and black scarf and the current boycott of official merchandise to see that when we pull together we can make things happen.

Kenny Miller and Clint Hill to be offered new deals at Ibrox

The important thing for me is that we have a settled, fit squad going into the euro qualifiers next season which are really early. Having both these players in the squad rather than not will be an advantage. Whether they will be 1st picks once the season kicks in is another matter but they should be able to offer backup. -
Looks like a good player and still young. His existing loan with Granada had an option to buy I believe so could be with us longer term.

Rangers 2 ( Kiernan, McKay) v Hearts 0 post-match discussion

Excellent performance all round and must give the whole squad a massive injection of confidence. Barrie McKay MOTM for me, great to see him back to his best. -
The majority of fans are not really interested in any of this. I personally didn't get around to voting but would have voted in favour of all the resolutions. Good to see such a high majority of voters in agreement, shows that the fans with a genuine interest are pretty much singing from the same hymn sheet. I would have been more concerned if there had been a split in the results especially Res 10 & 11.

Thought we played really well today, totally in charge and well deserved goal. Signs that Garner is starting to gel and I'm sure that once he gets a couple of goals he will go on to be prolific.

A jag in the bum. Rangers v Partick Thistle Preview
geoger64 replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed, front line need to be sharper and whole team need to work harder from the off. We should be looking to win games in first half. Think we had a mindset last season that we could wear teams down and win late on. Not going to happen this season. Really hope Windass is available. -
Good 1st half for us. Not sure if Waggy and Garner combo is working though. CD have been strong against a physical side.

Yes, best candidate, but if you have to choose between candidates that you consider of equal ability, then their USP has to be taken into account.
-
I think it is important to have a diverse range on the board. Every candidate has a unique selling point which will appeal to some but not others. One of the main goals over the coming year will be to grow the membership. IMO a female on the board would be a selling point to many, similarly a disabled member and a Northern Irish member. The biggest problem is the constant infighting and the 'he said/she said' nonsense. People have to let the past go and see the bigger picture of making Club 1872 successful.

I think the whole process, especially the hustings and their recordings, has been very well handled. The Donohoe stuff was unfortunate, however it is important that the information is correct. I had never heard of most of the candidates but was encouraged by the quality and diversity across the board. The most important thing is that those successful work together for the good of the members and that ego's and past differences are put to one side.
