Why are we still discussing Shankland? Out of our price range and doesn't fit the player trading model the manager keeps banging on about (and something we need to implement ASAP).
Miovski is in my opinion a far better player than Shankland, younger, would fit into our playing style and would have a far better return on investment. Not that we are likely to sign him, but a far better option than Shankland
As for Ridvan, if there ia any real offer on the table, take it and sell him.
I get the player trading model ideology but we need to win league titles. Not every purchase can fit the model. We need a striker to enable us to win the league. Shankland will score goals for us. It's a no brainer.

Cifuentes to join rizaspor or some other similarly named jobber team in Turkey on loan with an option to buy. Good, be gone. Useless.
Too early to make that call IMO. Loan maybe for game time but mot with option to buy.

Talk of small turkey club galatasaray coming back in for Ridvan. Personally think we should hold on to him and see what he can do till the end of the season.
Unless the player is wanting away, I don't see why we would pursue his departure. Not unless his sale will fund a potential new striker coming in? I can only see Ridvan improving, making him a more lucrative asset (beyond cutting even).

Right Rangers. Where is this f**king striker?
Who will it be? Shankland or someone we've never heard of?

Our only aim was 3 pts therefore job done. That's 3 away wins on terrible pitches and in horrible conditions after the winter break. 8 goals scored, one conceded. I would have taken that in a heart beat before the Dumbarton game. Next!

This is a player who has made 18 first team appearances in his entire life, none in Brazil I'd add. I'm not entirely sure how he'll get a work permit, but that aside we're buying very much untried potential, he's unlikely to be ready for our first team. Both Diomande and Jefre are young players, playing in weaker leagues than ours looking to make a step up in standard. It's an interesting signing strategy, but it's risky. Whether either are currently ready to improve our first team remains to be seen.
I mean we've bought players from better leagues than ours and they've been disasters, so I'm not knocking this new strategy, just pointing out both these players might need time to adjust.
Is the Danish league weaker than ours?

I like the energy of Silva.

Wasteful but it is the first game back. Matondo needs to do more. He's got pace to burn but seems unsure how to use it. Maybe we'll see Silva coming over and Dessers to act as a focal point in the centre?

I really don't care what Lammers does while playing for another club. He was universally shit when he had a Rangers shirt on his back ...... that's all that matters to me.
I do care because his success over there means we can rectify the outlay on him.

I read this same thing a year ago about Ryan Jack but he made 36 appearances for Rangers and 4 international appearances. Going by the way he was dismissed as a permanent crock you'd have thought he hadn't played half those games. In the first half of this season he's had 17 appearances and about 900 minutes for Rangers.
Given his age and injuries he will never again play 40 full games a season. We all know that. The question is whether 20 - 30 appearances by a really good midfielder justifies one more season on appropriate financial terms, given the current state of our squad and our c continuing affliction with injuries.
Personally, I think he will move on and probably play 30 games for another SPFL side.
Possibly but we need to move on.

He has played about 10 full matches worth of minutes this season.
Like I said at the outset, if he can play about 20-30 games it's worth keeping him around.
Fair play but I think we need to move on. I also think Clement will see it this way based on his comments about availability.

If Lammars does well its a win win for us. Long may it continue.

He has always played at least 21 games a season.
He has played 16 this season at the halfway point.
Is that 16 starts or appearances? We've played about 35 competitive games this season.

I would keep Jack.
He is our finest midfielder.
If we can get 20-30 games a season from him, along with his presence around the club, I think it's worth it.
(And make him retire from the national side.)
That IF is getting shaker by the season.

Tbh if Diomande is coming in then we need to let one of Jack and Lundstram go this summer.
Maybe even both if you want to sign another midfielder in the summer, which Clement will want too.
Surely Jack won't be offrred a new deal.

Started for them today v PSV. Another good performance as a number 9. Subbed off to very good reception from Utrecht fans
First game in which PSV have dropped points this season. Prior to today's draw, they had won 17 games in a row.

That clip above makes Diomande look like Cifu...
Still think Cifu will come good. Sunny LA to dreich Govan takes a while to get used to.

So we desperately need a right winger or a striker. I stupidly presumed this 22 year old was one of the aforementioned positions 😮
The window closes in 10 days. Any new faces were always going to happen at the end of the window. A striker is more important than a right winger IMO.

I wonder how much the fee is going to be? These are the markets we need to take advantage of IMO. Scandinavia and the Balkans could throw up some low cost (fees & wages) gems. Far better than the inflated/overrated/overpriced Championship market.

Is there an option for the wind?

Rangers’ only player of value didn’t play yesterday. Saving for Easter Road, I hope.
@Bill did hint at a surprise departure this week.
Mmm.... This makes no sense. If a striker could be the difference maker for our season, Butland is equally capable of winning games for us.

I remember seeing Mykhaylychenko make his debut. If I recall correctly, it was away to Falkirk at Brockville? The sun was shining and he came on as a sub and nearly scored from the half way line.

I must confess I'm not as confident as some that Shankland is the answer to our #9 problem. I don't watch a lot of the jam tarts, unless they are playing us, but I imagine he does not have to play against a low block every league game. Then there is his lack of pace. I am just not convinced he is the answer, but if we do get him I will be happy to be proven wrong.
They said the same about Boyd. His goals per game rate almost doubled when he went to Rangers. Shankland will score goals in this team. I have no doubts about that at all as he is an instinctive striker. Our only instintive striker is permanently injured (Roofe). If you consider misses in recent games like Tynecastle (Danilo) and Parkhead (Dessers) and add a Roofe or Shankland into the mix those missed chances become goals. Its that simple IMO.

Where are we getting 4.5 million to use on our recent midfield addition? And who said its 5 million for Shankland? The Daily Record? We need to bring a striker in the next 3/4 days. Like all purchases/transfers, there will be significant risk attached. Getting to know the league, country, city, language etc. Shankland is also risk but there are so many factors eliminated if you buy him IMO.
