There is a fluidity about that front three.

The ball in behind should turn them because of the pace in the front three.

We are grabbing at straws because of the lack of first choice strikers. My worry is the 70-80 yard diagonals played from our own box, I do not see any of those three winning headers.

However, I remember a game against the Yahoos from '73 at ra Stydome. Parlane, Stein, Young, ... etc were all out. Wallace went with Alfie Conn and Graham Fyfe up front. We ran tham ragged and won 1-2.

    I am hoping.

I'm hoping that the energy these 3 can bring can maintain a decent press. I still think Hart and Starfelt have mistakes in them when pressed.

I'd take van veen, bloody good player, free transfer, low wages, a good couple of years in him yet, at least. I'm not saying he's I'm any way as good, but Caniggia didn't too badly for us, did he?.

He's very good playing the lone striker, for a pretty poor team.

A far better shirt filler than Roofe, at least he'd turn up.

Is he out of contract at Motherwell?

Keep forgetting Roofe is still with us. If he had remained fit, he would have made a big difference IMO.

Ok so we've already got Cantwell and now looks like  Dowell ,from Norwich .

Teeemu Pukki is on a free ,and although at 33 not a long term prospect, he's exactly the type of player that will help us win us the league next season.

Is Delia Smith going on a free? She could inspire our squad with one of her famous pre match rants. And she knows her way around a quiche...

You only have to watch highlights of their games to see that from the first foul awarded to them or even against them they surround the ref trying to control the officials--cheating in my book.I take it they issue a Tom Daley book/video to teach them in their diving and also they are all clever at slowing the game down with pretend injuries, maybe not direct cheating but very close to.

Sorry but this is clutching at straws. They play the same game we do. Being street smart is not cheating.

The scum team are nasty and cheat their way to victory, week in week out.  Tav never comes across as a cheat or nasty.  Rarely see him getting annoyed or committing dirty fouls.  Rarely see him running over when a teammate gets fouled.

I reckon Tav will still be RB when the 2023/24 season kicks off, so it's a pointless conversation.

I understand we are hurting because of our teams failings this year (coupled with our rivals success) but can you provide examples of Celtic cheating their way to victories week in week out? I derive no pleasure from saying this but they just seem like an organised, hard working team with more clinical players than us.

It's same with Alfie. Alfies time is up undoubtedly but I for one will remember him as the striker who bullied European defences for two seasons and scored a barrel-load of goals.

I am still raging at Gio for playing Alfie whilst he was clearly injured and in my humble opinion cost us the EL last season. A fit Morelos and we'd have won.

    Agree 100%.

How can you blame Tav for Celtics dominance? Was our 9-in-a-row solely down to Butcher and Gough?

Only my opinion, we'll miss Tav when he has gone. I recently watched the highlights of our EL games last season and all our goals during 55 and was amazed in how many Tav was directly involved in.

He is no Sandy Jardine of Gary Stevens, but also he is no Jim Denny or Alex Clelland.

I also watched those games over the last few days. Call it therapy...

I totally agree. I'd like to think Tav will up his levels in a more functional and fluid team.
