It's an interesting question, I think.

Someone like Negri, who was superb for a couple of weeks then disappears.

4M for the superb season? Worth it. Over 4 years? debatable.

32 goals from 30 games suggests Negri was a little more than "superb for a couple of weeks".

  2. Flo was 18 million Euros? I thought he was 12 million pounds. Surely that didn't equate to 18 million Euros back then.

Flo's scoring record was still decent tbh. 29 goals in 52 appearances must be up there as one of the best goal per game ratios beyond the insane figures of Marco Negri? I still think he suffered with fan feedback due to having a rather lazy style and always looking rather emotionless tbh.

I would like a defensive LB that can play as a CB.

The utility of morphing into a situational back-three is quite common now.

We could morph into a back-three, allowing Tavernier to go forward.

Panzo plays left of a back-three, but I'm not sure he can play as a LB? I wonder if Stirling can do that, as he has played LB?

I'm sure Sterling is versatile across the back line. Not sure if that is purely across the right side of the back line.

As my son said to me last night with this proposed change to offside Sakala will be worth £100 million next season...

I hadn't realised that Dessers is actually Belgian, so hopefully Raskin and Lammers being at the club will help him settle. He's had a peripatetic career, not sure what to read into that, still, if he has a couple of good seasons then moves on that might be okay. He seems to fit Beale's plan to make us a much taller side. Every one of our summer signings so far has been over 6 foot so far, I suspect Beale felt we were being bullied by physical sides before.

Looking forward to seeing some of these guys on the pitch now, the side will have a very different feel to last seasons.

Genuinely excited to see what Beale can do with his own players. Considering he came in midway through the season, his record for a new Rangers manager was very encouraging. League games played 23. 20 wins. 2 defeats. 1 draw. Stevie G and GVB would have killed for that return.

    Roll on next season!

They would have been avoided if we had the ball, you've kinda proved my point there buddy.

Many of our goals against last season happened when we had the ball or were in "control" of a situation. The two that come to mind were the 2 at Parkhead in the game that effectively ended our league challenge. Ben Davies terrible defensive header and Jack/Souttar/MacGregor pissing about in defence.

I get you, but I don't think it's quite as simple as that. We hardly conceded any goals in our 55 season, which wasn't down to how good our defence was per se, it was down to how we played, constantly stretching teams, possession based defence, tiring out our opposition to the point when we did give the ball away, they were less of a problem.

I hope with a full pre season, and more of *his* players, MB will work in a similar fashion.

The vermin don't have a great defence, they did something similar last season.

Where your good defence is under more scrutiny is in Europe, obvs.

I get what you are saying but much of goals against last season were avoidable in so many ways. During the 55 season we conceded 13 goals. Last season we conceded 34. Those stats don't lie.

  7. Wasn't this the reason ultimately left Nike all those years ago? Weren't we one of their biggest selling kits but ultimately gained buttons from sales? My memory is somewhat challenged on these matters...
