Early days Bill. He's literally started 1 game (everybody was awful) and came on as a sub in the other 2 (to good effect in the 2nd game). As far as sample sizes go, that's pretty small. Whilst we are on it, can anyone tell me what Hagi has done to merit a promotion. Apart from some early promise when he was on loan and the occasional decent game in the 55 season, I struggle to remember any significant contribution.

All of that written above is hugely dependent upon the luck of the draw IMO.

MB has mentioned in dispatches that he would like to replace Kent with a similar type of player. Call me crazy, but based on what we saw on Saturday from wee Rabi, it seems like we already have a player with that potential on the books. Has Matondo shown anything in his time at Rangers to suggest that he could fit this role? Not at all but I feel we've never seen any of his true ability. Maybe it's just a crisis of confidence or lack of consistent selection? It seems to be that MB believes he can take players whose careers have somewhat stalled and turn them around (Cantwell, Lammas, Sima, Dessers). Could he not try this with wee Rabi? He is our player after all and cost us money.

Does he not play further forward for Belgium (U21's)?

I'll have to be honest and say that I'm relatively new to this level of statistical analysis but I'm fairly open to learning new things about the game I love. I have found Joshua Barrie's contributions on the daily Rangers Review podcast very insightful and informative. That boy loves a good diagram.

I'll pass Rousseau. I'd rather wait and see how this season pans out with all the new recruits. Our failings from last season mean nothing. That's the past and I'm only interested in the present and how that effects our future. This team has played 3 games. Let's give them time. 4-0 vs Livingston with other chances created and missed is good enough for me at this stage of the season.

Hopefully Cifuentes will be that midfielder that actually shoots. Remember them? Lampard and Gerrard got bucket loads of goals for a reason. They were always willing to have a pop at goal when the opportunity arose.

I spent an hour or so the other night watching the highlights of our European games since Gerrard took charge. It was great viewing but what struck me was how we've competed against decent sides. Lech Poznan, Villareal, Spartak Moscow, Rapid Vienna, Porto, Feyernoord, Benfica, Legia Warsaw, Borussia Dortmund, Red Star, Braga, Standard Leige, Leipzig. What also struck is that Servette are not a patch on most of these teams from what I witnessed last week. Go out take the game to them and put this to bed Rangers.

Let's get started... With regards to possible line ups, I would play the same team that started the home leg with a view to introducing Cifuentes/Sima/Hagi if the game opens up. Just some housekeeping regarding our opponents. They drew 1-1 at home to St. Gallen on Saturday. Its worth noting that St. Gallen had 60% possession and completed over 400 passes compared to Servettes 280. St. Gallen also recorded 24 shots compared Servettes 13.

Agreed. I suspect some of the same fans gave headless chicken Philip Sebo a better reception because...he ran around a lot. We need to give Dessers time. I'm sure he missed many games at the end of last season so he's still getting up to speed.

I almost think some fans are not happy unless we play the perfect game, IN EVERY GAME. We are a work in progress but 5 new players scored our last 5 goals. Wouldn't be surprised to see Balogun coming in for Goldson today. If Cifuentes starts, then I presume Jack would be rested with the midweek game in mind.
