I see PSV were playing at the weekend. I thought they had their game postponed? Or is that the game before the 2nd leg?

Does the P in P.S.V. stand for Postecoglou?
Don't be silly. It stands for polymorphic..

Good. May the seeds of doubt start here. A wee tanking at Ibrox and they'll be on his back.

Was genuinely expecting Aberdeen or Killie away.

I take back what I said about the League Cup. The treble is on! 🤣🤣🤣

Went to the game and the museum after, pretty good day all in.
I thought the manager did the right thing rotating personally.
And a G+A for Dessers and a goal for Danilo is something we would have all taken from the match, feeling the buzz for PSV now.
@BlackSocksRedTops unsure if you said you've been with your old man yet to the museum, it's brilliant mate for a good price as well.
Patience bears, it will come together!
Cheers Yuddie. I did take him and we were both very impressed. 👍👍

And only thing we seemed to win for a while in early / mid 80s!
League Cups are fine if you are winning leagues. If all we are winning is League Cups, we are no better than St. Johnstone.

Hagi impressed when he came on for the last 30 mins and Matondo was dangerous down the right, unfortunately we could capitalize.
I gave it to Dessers for two goals (one of which was inconceivably chopped off by Dick-In-Sin) and an assist.I like Dessers attitude. Runs into the net and grabs the ball instead of silly celebrations and badge kissing.

I think you said he was a waste of money?
Fair enough, it's not quite writing him off.
Maybe I'm conflating you with others? So many have written players off already.
Apologies. I think I said the 3.5million might have been better spent on a wide player as we already had Cantwell. Hagi and Lowry in the No.10 role. We could have possibly used it on Shankland.
I hope Lammars comes good. I'm just doubtful at the moment.

Odd.
Some of my favourite Rangers memories are LC related, particularly late 80s finals.
Finals are one thing. Getting there is torture.

How can you move on from yesterday so quickly?!
I think you're correct with that team.
How can I move on from the LC? Easily to be honest. Bloody hate that tournament.

And yet you've already written off some players?
MB has had 9 months.
The players have had 9 weeks.
Not having a go: just pointing out the inconsistencies...
Who have I "written off"? I stated that I've not been too impressed with Lammars.

Tuchel and Guardiola are two of the most controlling managers in world football, so your point that 'we [are] making a simple game far too complicated' doesn't match your examples.
What we need is an effective manager.
Possibly. I'm going to give him time.

Right. Here we go!
---------Butland---------
---Goldson----Souttar---
Tav‐-‐--------------Borna
-----------Jack----------
---Raskin----Cifuentes--
----------Cantwell-------
---Danilo------Dessers--

Nothing to do with Tuchel and Guardiola?
Of course. And world class players.

After watching Bayern dominate Bremen on Friday and then Phil Foden pull the strings v Newcastle last night, it is even more evident that we making a simple game far too complicated.

There is one part of your comment I disagree with. We have 4 wins and two draws against PSV, that makes them the underdogs. MB has to earn his corn, G this team up, pick the right players and give them tactics that make best use of them, not hinder them.
Historically, 4 wins and 3 draws from 8 games against PSV is amazing but that means nothing when we take to the pitch on Tuesday. The only games that have any relevance are last years as many of the players will be playing. Despite our win last year, we are underdogs. We were lucky last year IMO.

100% should have stood! No foul that I could see, not even a soft one. Dickinson had a mare.
The guy just fell over at the slightest bit of pressure from Dessers.

Can someone who is smarter than me answer this particular question? It appeared to me that Matondo was getting the better of their right back and it resulted in the Morton player getting booked. Here's me thinking...Great. Let's attack him and put him under more pressure. What did we do? We seemed to attack the other flank. Confused.com

The Lammers signing never made much sense to me, and it was just more worrying when Beale talked about how he’s known about him for years. Just seems like our transfer policy is driven by players he already knows about, rather than proper scouting.
Especially since we had Cantwell who was excellent and more than capable of playing as a 10. We also had Hagi on the way back. And Lowry...

Problem is he isn’t a very good striker. Even in his first few games here he’s shown why he’s struggled in front of goal in his career.
At this early stage, I think we've spent a lot of money on someone who is a backup striker. Cantwell should be our number 10 and shouldn't be pushed back to accommodate for Lammers.
I edging towards this way of thinking tbh. The money we spend on Lammars might have been better spent on a wide player or dare I say it Shankland.

Tuesday night will give us a marker this for me is the first decent side we’ve come up against and it doesn’t give me with confidence , hope I’m wrong of course.
I'm very fearful about the PSV tie(s) to be honest. Not because they might beat us as they are a very good team. I'm more fearful about the backlash a defeat would bring from the fans. Our primary aim this season is to win the league. Europe is a great financial bonus for us and now that we've secured EL group stage football and nearly 5 million pounds, I think we've done well. If we get negative knee jerk reactions to the PSV games, it could really derail our league challenge IMO.

Maybe replace him with Hagi v PSV?
I wouldn't start Lammars or Hagi on tuesday. Cantwell in that free role. Jack, Ruskington, Cifu in the middle. Danilo and Dessers up top.

Didn't expect too much today as its the League Cup. Let's be honest, if we looked at the last 20 or so years, we could count good LC/SC cup performances at Ibrox on one finger. These games are always dire IMO and especially the LC.
A few positives...
Dessers looks like he is slowly getting there. He definitely has something (first half volley was nicely worked) so I'm remaining patient. Still a stick on to score against the Dhims IMO.
Matondo looked lively again and if he starts to calm down a bit and use his head he could be useful.
Sterling, Dowell, Balogun, Hagi, Roofe got minutes in the tank.
The negatives...
As much as I am willing to be patient with Dessers, my patience is fading fast with Lammars. I'm still unsure what he is going to bring? Granted, he's regarded as a "technical" player but in old fashioned money he looks like a fan dancer. A luxury player who needs too many touches and forgets that football is a simple game.
Crossing...In the absence of Pinky and Perky today, I was hoping that we might abandon the aimless tactic of lobbing in cross after cross. Alas, it turned out that we other players that excell in the pointless tactic.
