  1. I'm more and more drawn to Muscat. Plays a high tempo style of football. Teams known for pressing well. Has won league titles in 2 countries. No nonsense straight talking Aussie. Has experience of what's expected in the British game. Recommended by big Ange. Speaks English.

All the others don't do it for me. I reckon Muscat is the kind of character to tell certain members of our squad some home truths. That's what we've needed for ages IMO.

  2. Reading an interesting article on Muscat. Here are some highlights...

It’s not just the fact that he won it which makes it so impressive, but it is the way he went about it and the challenges he had to overcome that proves his credentials as a manager. Muscat’s Yokohama side played with flair and a high energy style reminiscent of the football Ange had them playing, while also putting his own stamp on the side as he refreshed the club with some smart recruitment to pull them out of their post-Postecoglou hangover.

Like with Ange, high energy football has always been a signature of Muscat’s teams. Playing against his Melbourne Victory side was always one of the most physically demanding games of the season. You knew it was going to happen, but the first 20 minutes still left you feeling like you’d been hit by a train. Through their aggression and pressing, they just suffocated you and before you knew it they were two or three goals ahead and the game was over.

I'm just glad Beale is gone.  He should've been punted after the Celtc match.

Hopefully we have a permanent manager installed during the international break.

His approach in that game against them was unforgivable. The whole world could see that MacGregor had too much space apart from MB.

  4. He has been awful but in his defence (of sorts) the whole team has been awful. Whatever skill set he has, our team is simply not set up to get the best out of him. Same for Lammers. Same for Danilio. We simply don't create chances.

I really don't get why people aren't agreeing that the board are making severe, dire errors? It's been obvious over many years now, even their appointment of DoFs is riddled with errors. They really need some consultation with experienced parties before appointing anyone else.

Personally I think the appointment of a new manager at this stage will just put a plaster over our problems and the plaster will come off again at the start of next season. I think we are missing much more than a new manager.

    - We need a complete clear out of the squad, I thought this was happening during the off season but I was dismayed to realise that the same players that have failed year on year still make up the bulk of our first team for our games this season. A huge failure, and I still can't get my head around getting rid of Colek who was our most efficient striker.

    - We need to re-establish what it means to be Rangers within our dressing room. How do we do that? I believe we absolutely need to revert this snobbery of overlooking the best Scottish talent. Beale should be sacked alone for his remarks about Scottish players not being good enough and then signing Dessers and Lammers. Not only are these players a long way from the required ability we need, they are a long way from understanding what Rangers are. We need to start bringing in the best Scottish players again, and maybe the best Scottish coaches.

I could rant all day actually, but I have to make scrambled eggs for my kids now.

Would signing Scottish talent, eg. Shankland and Nisbet, mean more goals? We are a team set up to not make chances. It's criminal. I'm done watching Tav continually hit those floating and aimless crosses to no one.

We found Colak (who did a fine job at Premiership level) and Sakala (who did a fine job at Premiership level) not good enough (raked in 7,5m), and brought in Lammers and Dessers for a combined 8,5m. We sent Hagi packing for no obvious reason whatsoever, after already letting Lowry out on loan.

Injuries were bound to happen, did happen and those we have left are not up to what is required, starting with the captain.

BTW, two of their goals were still a comedy of luck and errors. You don't get these very often.

Back in the day, Walter's Rangers were "hammered" 0-3 at Ibrox by Hibs (Ivan Sproule) and Hearts (Allan Johnston, methinks), so this comes close to that. Still, I would be surprised if Beale was still the manager by Monday.

By Monday? I would be surprised if he is still the manager after tonight.
