Jefte was signed as a LB, so it would be naturally his position to lose.

We can't continue to try and force square pegs into round holes.

Play players in their best positions or don't play them at all.

I'd go with the team Frankie posted above but with Jefte at LB and Matondo wide left.

Regardless of what he was signed as, it is clear that he can cause the opposition problems further up the pitch. Cortes is injured. Matondo is a wasted jersey. Fraser is a LB therefore a round peg in a round whole. Its a no brainer IMO.

Calm down, I said some fans will forgive and forget, others won't (rightly or wrongly). Nothing wrong with that. Mirrors what happens in life - somethings you can forgive and forget others you won't.

So if Mike Ashley or Craig White approached Bennett tomorrow and took control of Rangers, you'd be cool about it?

Don't be ridiculous. That's a rather silly comparison.

It's not as if he complained about a cold pie or a raw hot dog (sic). He was part of the process / people that "relegated" us to the bottom tier of Scottish football, imposed a signing ban and withheld much needed money from us.

If you can forgive those who did this to us fine, others (rightly or wrongly) will be and are less forgiving.

Let the past go. It's done. We need to move on FFS.

Not much good news from today's presser ahead of facing an always stuffy St Johnstone at Hampden tomorrow evening. Performances/results dictate not much rotation but a chance to bring in a few to freshen up the side even to a small degree. Something like this possible?

Fraser has to play. Not Sterling at LB or Davies. Or Jefte for that matter. Give the lad the jersey and tell him it's his for the next 2 months.

Anyone familiar with the rumoured CEO?

Hearts have been brilliantly ran above the pitch the last few years imo so seems sensible at least.

He was lawyer and moved into Sports about 10 years back. Has worked in football and golf and has a good reputation by all accounts. I've heard that it's between him and the guy at Aberdeen who was also a CEO at Motherwell. Is it Burrows?

The left field option I have heard been mentioned was the lady at Nordsejaelland Trine Moller. Apparently she's a big player in the Right to Dream set up that Diamonde came from.

Its not an usual option and it's a valid option that is despite your reply a rather unwelcome one within the Rangers support.

Anyway we have a huge game on Saturday ro look forward to. An opportunity to progress in a domestic cup with a full to bursting Hampden buzzing with anticipation of yet another scintillating Rangers performance.

  7. Clement has yet another puzzle to solve with regards to LB. If Ridvan is going to be missing over the next month or so I would be handing a jersey to young Frazier. Jefte looks better in advanced positions and Sterling is wasted there. Davies is also a no. Give the young man the chance to make a name for himself and get him to prioritise the novel idea of a defender actually defending. It can't get any worse? Can it...?

  8. Thought Souttar did well but I've always thought he was better as a "backs to the wall" seige like defender. It's the bread and butter games with not much to do but deal with balls over the top that worry me.

    Barron for me.

  9. I said it earlier in the summer and it might be controversial but we should have openly touted the sale of Butland in the summer. His sale could potentially bring in 10-15 million and that combined with player sales would have help fund our much needed rebuild. Butlands a great goalie (not as good as some people make out though...) but we have bigger issues in front of him to fix. Kelly would be good enough for the SPL and with better players in front of him.

If he's on the bench on Saturday but doesn't get any minutes I think some might spontaneously combust.

Something fishy about the whole Danilo thing. Could there be a part of his deal related to appearances in competitive games? It's strange that he was fit enough for a pre season game but hasn't featured in any competitive games yet ( I think).

The McCausland for Cerny sub still baffles me, even more so now the games over and McCausland had the better 45 mins.

Both were poor but I would have started with Cerny after Saturday. Are we the only team that is micro managing minutes from every player. In all my time watching Rangers, I cannot recall ever hearing so much about fitness and players being ready. Just friggin play them.

  12. Disappointment all round. The refs decision obviously had a massive impact on the game but our play confuses me. It seems we resorted to funneling the ball wide and hitting long hopeful crosses into from deep areas to one striker. We have seen this movie before with Tav & Borna from 2 seasons ago.

We also need to end this number 10 nonsense. We need a player with guile, pace, energy and goals & assists. Lawrence is none of these things. Get Sterling in the middle as a 6 and shove the two 8's forward.

On top of all that Ridvan looks like he's out (again), Jefte will be suspended for future UEFA games and Hampden is a problem.

I like McCausland - he keeps going and isn't afraid to have a go (unlike a lot of players).

I get that but ultimately his overall quality and decision making are piss poor IMO. Cerny on for me.
