Match Thread [FT] Rangers 1 (Tavernier 60' pen) - 2 Motherwell

Let's all calm down a wee bit. OK we lost and we are running out of options in attacking areas but whether we are 1 point behind them today or 2 pts ahead, everything will come down to the OF at Ibrox. It was always going to be the case IMO. Let's move onto to Thursday, which for me is a free hit and a welcome distraction. Just go out there and let out a bit of pent up frustration! PS. All that being said, my one big fear at the moment is that we have a large generation of fans who haven't experienced a tight title race and whose references points are constant daily updates and need for immediate stories/reaction/satisfaction. I hope this doesn't backfire and translate into verbals from the terracing. I work as a teacher and I'm genuinely staggered by the opinions of the older kids regarding any type of football. And most these kids base opinions on social media reactions as opposed to what's actually happening on the pitch. -

Let's be fair, the signs were there on Wednesday as we got bullied for most of that game to. Out with a flurry in the 2nd half we were very poor interms of our application and grit. -

It would seem logical regarding losing points on the road but while not being spectacular, we've been better on the road this season. ie. Have dropped less points and conceded less goals. -

I genuinely think if we had got to that game unbeaten and then beat them we would be Champions. -

I'm somewhat confused as to why we've reverted back to out swinging corners. They are pointless IMO. I thought our in swinging corners were starting to cause problems. -

We were poor all over today. We just looked off the pace. As we did on Wednesday to be honest. -

He came on as a sub so he obviously can. Two games in a row where we've not started with our strongest team. Surely better to start Lawrence and manage his minutes from a winning position rather than when we are chasing the game. Don't want sound defeatist but maybe the injuries are just catching up with us now? -

When does rotation become tinkering? Get Diamonde in the middle for Raskin and Lawrence in the 10 position. Lawrence will be on cloud 9 after Wednesday. With all due respect to Raskin, the title run in isn't the place to players up to speed. Just play your strongest XI at the start of every game please. -
Just a wee observation from last night. Killie are a very organised team that thrive off the reset after breaks in play IMO. If you cast your mind back to the 1st game of the season, Tav jogged about 50 yards to take a throw in, much to the ire of every fan watching. It played perfectly into Kilmarnocks hands. Game gets slowed down, they get to reset. Fast forward to last night. Dessers takes a quick throw immediately and Killie are on the back foot resulting in Lawrence getting fouled. Once again we get ball active right away and bish bosh, we get our 2nd goal. How times have changed...

This might be an unpopular opinion but I was quiet impressed with Kilmarnock last night. I get the pitch being a leveller but they go about their business in a direct, aggressive and organised manner. They clearly have a good level of belief when facing the OF teams and their results back that up. Some other teams in Scotland should take note.

I'm not too fussed about his stats tbh. I'll go with the eye test and I can see a player that definitely suits this team better than BB. Let's not forget, BBs stats for assists where only half decent due to law of averages as something positive was bound to happen from the 394 crosses per game we were witnessing under Beale Ball. 🤣🤣
