  1. At the risk of going over the same old ground...I presume you are cheekily "trolling" with the St Georges cross comment?
  2. Creating arguments? It was a simple comment about a strip mate. I just never understood why they went from their traditional white top, navy shorts to royal blue, red and white in the 70's/80's. No biggy. Just an observation
  3. I never understood why England had a white, red and blue strip? It was obviously to pay homage to the Union Flag, which is not their flag.
  4. Did Rangers as a club officially endorse the No campaign? If so, I find that puzzling. And that would be the same if they endorsed the Yes vote.
  5. Probably an over reaction in the first place? Not that I want to belittle any damage/violence after OF games, it was happening for years so I'm still not sure why that was the straw that broke the camels back? Saying that I'm sure rags like the DR/The Herald have ready made "cut and paste" articles about the said "carnage" waiting in the wings for when Rangers eventually win an OF game.
  6. Thanks for being so gracious....
  7. It's not about appeasing our "enemies". It's boxing clever and maintaining an reasonable image of our club. Why does everything have to be confrontational?
  8. This statement might have something to do with it.... Unless they're all imposters, there is a worryingly seditious element within the Rangers support, who promote republicanism and separatism. There's is a philosophy of denial with respect to just about every tradition we have. They're embarrassed by our loyaltyism, by our unionism and by our long affiliation with NI. Frankly, they make me sick. They won't be missed if they want to take their embarrassment elsewhere.
  9. No big secret but to be honest your previous statement was so loaded so I'd rather just chat about Rangers tbh.
  10. So we now have to adhere to certain identikit to be a Rangers fan. If that is you're implying then tbh that makes me sick.
  11. I'm not new mate. I've just not been on here in ages tbh. With regards to your enquiry, are we required to provide transparent political leanings prior to posting? I thought it was a football forum not North Korea
  12. I don't really have a problem with the Scotland flag being incorporated into a small area of the strip (neck, hem etc.). We are a Scottish club that plays in Scotland after all. It's pretty evident in our trophy room
  13. Why limit ourselves to south of the border? On top of that, the Union Flag means nothing to a lot of people in England
  14. Fair enough but in the context of this debate it seemed pertinent. And you know and I know, it's not just a colour
  15. Of course we should but the proof is in the pudding. This strip would hugely popular among sections of our support for those exact reasons.
  16. I also think there is a bigger picture element to this. We need to look forward as a club and we cannot just rely on a "traditional" pool for our support in the years and decades ahead. I would find it staggering that on one hand we are looking to a global figure like Stevie Gerrard to move our club forward and then on the other hand we would be taking a myopic move by introducing an orange strip. I don't want to bring religion/politics into this but as far as I can see there is nothing positive about having any connection (albeit symbolic) with the OO. It's bewildering IMO.
  17. Enough please with the snowflake stuff. It's just an opinion.
  18. I have to agree mate. Ditch the flags/symbols please and stick to football. The only "symbol" I would love to see is the 6 pointed star from our original strip incorporated into an away strip. Oh wait, does that mean we are pro-Israel?
  19. A huge historical Dutch connection? Have we? We had a Dutch manager for 3 years and group of Dutch players over 5/6 year period many moons ago. We've not had a Dutch player in years.
  20. Fair enough but I'm pretty uncomfortable with anything we do as a club that alienates any of our fans tbh. Don't see the point of it to simply make a point and a cash grab.
  21. Where did I say that? I've stated that that many of our fans would like this. I was merely focusing on the fans who feel uncomfortable with this.
  22. Don't buy what? Are you denying that some Rangers fans are uncomfortable with this?
  23. Agreed but what about the Gers fans who feel uncomfortable with this? Anyhoo...like you said, whatever we think, what will be will be. I just hope the home kit is decent. I'm not really up to speed on Hummels latest output but their most famous kit (Denmark home) is quite simple and classic. Something like this in blue would be nice.
  24. Granted they are just colours but they don't have any connotations. In our case, Orange does.
  25. As this is Champions League final week, I thought I would post this decent article on our run from 1992-93. https://talksport.com/football/why-rangers-could-have-have-been-first-champions-league-winners-and-not-marseille-1993
