  1. He does it on a daily basis though. It's quite strange tbh.
  2. Sorry to go off piste but I have a wee question that relates to Rangers and the Media (I don't think it merits a new thread tbh). Can anyone tell me what the deal is with Jim White? (ex-STV, now Sky). I started listening to his morning show on Talk Sport and in between Jim delivering his tabloid sensationalist drivel, I noticed that Jim goes out of his way to talk up Celtic in the most sycophantic way possible. It's getting to the stage that it is utterly cringeworthy. We all know Jim had leanings towards Rangers back in the day and he often mentions going to his first game at Ibrox but I just wondered if something had happened between Rangers/Rangers fans and Jim? Or is he just over compensating when it comes to Celtic? It really is beyond embarrassing the levels White talks Celtic up. Has anyone heard it?
  3. Just would like to say bravo to all involved in this thread. As someone who sees both sides to this debate, it's very interesting indeed to hear all points of view. Take a bow chaps
  4. Agreed. The orange one looks like my kids PJ's
  5. The first Rangers top to incorporate red was for the 1978-79 season and tbh I've always prefered our tops without any red on them. Keep the red on the socks though. That's a no brainer
  6. JD Sports or Jack Daniels as a sponsor? Only kidding... Can you expand on the JD rumour Rousseau? I missed it
  7. Sorry buddy. Totally lost on me. Next you'll be asking for Arlene Foster to model the new strip
  8. At the risk of going over the same old ground...I presume you are cheekily "trolling" with the St Georges cross comment?
  9. Creating arguments? It was a simple comment about a strip mate. I just never understood why they went from their traditional white top, navy shorts to royal blue, red and white in the 70's/80's. No biggy. Just an observation
  10. I never understood why England had a white, red and blue strip? It was obviously to pay homage to the Union Flag, which is not their flag.
  11. Did Rangers as a club officially endorse the No campaign? If so, I find that puzzling. And that would be the same if they endorsed the Yes vote.
  12. Probably an over reaction in the first place? Not that I want to belittle any damage/violence after OF games, it was happening for years so I'm still not sure why that was the straw that broke the camels back? Saying that I'm sure rags like the DR/The Herald have ready made "cut and paste" articles about the said "carnage" waiting in the wings for when Rangers eventually win an OF game.
  13. Thanks for being so gracious....
  14. It's not about appeasing our "enemies". It's boxing clever and maintaining an reasonable image of our club. Why does everything have to be confrontational?
  15. This statement might have something to do with it.... Unless they're all imposters, there is a worryingly seditious element within the Rangers support, who promote republicanism and separatism. There's is a philosophy of denial with respect to just about every tradition we have. They're embarrassed by our loyaltyism, by our unionism and by our long affiliation with NI. Frankly, they make me sick. They won't be missed if they want to take their embarrassment elsewhere.
  16. No big secret but to be honest your previous statement was so loaded so I'd rather just chat about Rangers tbh.
  17. So we now have to adhere to certain identikit to be a Rangers fan. If that is you're implying then tbh that makes me sick.
  18. I'm not new mate. I've just not been on here in ages tbh. With regards to your enquiry, are we required to provide transparent political leanings prior to posting? I thought it was a football forum not North Korea
  19. I don't really have a problem with the Scotland flag being incorporated into a small area of the strip (neck, hem etc.). We are a Scottish club that plays in Scotland after all. It's pretty evident in our trophy room
  20. Why limit ourselves to south of the border? On top of that, the Union Flag means nothing to a lot of people in England
  21. Fair enough but in the context of this debate it seemed pertinent. And you know and I know, it's not just a colour
  22. Of course we should but the proof is in the pudding. This strip would hugely popular among sections of our support for those exact reasons.
  23. I also think there is a bigger picture element to this. We need to look forward as a club and we cannot just rely on a "traditional" pool for our support in the years and decades ahead. I would find it staggering that on one hand we are looking to a global figure like Stevie Gerrard to move our club forward and then on the other hand we would be taking a myopic move by introducing an orange strip. I don't want to bring religion/politics into this but as far as I can see there is nothing positive about having any connection (albeit symbolic) with the OO. It's bewildering IMO.
  24. Enough please with the snowflake stuff. It's just an opinion.
