It's a tough group but let's face it, they were all going to be tough. I don't think any of those teams will fancy going to a "pot 4" team with 50,000 roaring them on. I'd say we are the one of a few pot 4 teams that nobody wanted to draw.

The ball has to keep the ball moving though and that can cause problems. Look at Loris in the the WC final. Back in the day the keeper could hold it for a time, drop it and slow the whole game down. Removing this has been one of the best changes in football over the last 20 years

That can't be replicated due to the back pass rule. The Liverpool team of the 70's and 80's were masters of killing time away from home with back passes to the keeper.

Good preview Pete. I would prefer to have Ejaria closer to the front player(s) than having him alongside Jack in the middle. He has trickery, pace and quick feet and could do more damage further up the pitch IMO.

Good for him but not good for us tbh. If he is a regular squad member he could be doing a lot of travelling and that sometimes has an adverse effect on players from South America.

Fantastic for him but is it good for us? If he is a regular he will be required to travel on a regular basis to South America for their forthcoming fixtures/competitions. That has an adverse effect on players (look at the EPL)

I still don't see your point? If we are to be successful or even have a chance of winning the league we need to win as many games as possible. If we had 4/5 away games at the start of the season, I would be raging but we don't. And do all fixtures have a home/away even spread? For example, we play 2 consecutive home games in Sept. (Dundee, St. Johnstone) It's never home/away/home/away.

Not sure if it's a scandal? The way I see it is if you want to be successful you have to win your games, regardless if they are home or away. Look at this way, if we had avoided the 2 late goals in our away games we be sitting on 9 pts and we wouldn't be talking about this.

Does Lafferty not play that role on the counter attack for NI?

I don't mind a bit of physicality but IMO Motherwell took it too far (hand round Lafferty's throat for example). I had to laugh when I heard Radio Scotland saying it was a "good advert" for Scottish football. The tactics deployed by Motherwell (5/6 brutes chasing 1st and 2nd balls) were positively prehistoric and should be consigned to the past. If that was a good advert for Scottish Football, no wonder we are in the mire as a footballing nation. I would also like to see their reaction if it was us that deployed such obvious physical tactics. I'm quite sure Mr English and Mr Gordon would have been less complimentary

I don't see the relevance Pete? You may as well cite Aberdeen being up for games and beating Celtic in the 80's and call that relevant. Different players and managers (and clubs tbh) I doubt if Motherwell will be up for any game like they were yesterday. Despite Celtic winning the leagues over the last few years, Rangers will always be these teams cup final. Add SG to the mix and I think they will be even more determined to take a scalp. They celebrated like they won the World Cup yesterday (as did Aberdeen). We just have to make sure we are not in a position were late goals mean anything. We should have gone for the 4th goal as soon as the 2nd half started and put the game to bed. While there is a goal in it, the other team will always have hope.

Agree 100% but we know what they are all about. We just need to counter it by being better with the ball. We looked to win that game chance and not design. That's what was disappointing. Saying that, I'm sure SG will be equally gutted
