  1. McLeish should never have got the job in the first place. Israel (94th in the world rankings) had over 30 shots at goal and McGregor saved us from a hiding tbh.

There is a decent bunch of young players there but they have given the job to the wrong man. To think there was talk of him coming back to Ibrox not long ago?

Can any Gersnetters see a connection?

On Saturday, Cosgrove began the charge on BBC Radio Scotland. He doesn't want Gazza inducted into the Scottish football Hall of Fame. A perfectly legitimate point of view. His reasoning, Gazza is a self confessed wife beater, and these days everyone connected to Scottish football has to share the responsibility of protecting the game's image. Jum Spence popped up on the same means yesterday, reinforcing DrStu's cri de couer and hinting at racism too. If you are interested in searching for what DrStu' and Jimmy Ping have said about Jimmy Johnstone, Malky McKay,Neil Lennon, and Leigh Griffiths on matters of domestic violence and racism, you will be looking at the centre of a dougnut.

Thirty years past, DrStu' penned a tome entitled, 'Hampden Babylon'. It was a quick buck making exercise telling the tales of the more salacious side of Scottish football. Child beaters, wife beaters, bullies, racists, ''''''''''''''' etc; they all live on those pages, accompanied by photos. I am sure the Doyen of Scottish Literature will be happy to discuss his observations on Rangers supporters being, "h-u-ns and typical orange wankers"?

Further, in yesterday's Herald, the depressed Neil Cameron showed empathy with his fellow sufferers by throwing a particular one under a bus. Neil Lennon can threaten the pregnant women in his life and Cameron will decidedly walk on bye on the other side of the road. It's a simple parable. Today, it's Stephen McGowan of the Scottish Daily Mail; tomorrow it will be Tom English, Hugh MacDonald, Hugh Keevins, .............................

We know it's their collective preferred prejudice, te extent of their comfort is measured by the lengths they are prepared to go to in NOT mentioning current and future inductees.

To be fair to old Shug, he stated at the weekend if we are looking beyond footballing abilities for the HOF we could be opening a lot of uncomfortable doors.

For the record and I am sure bbc folk look at this website so you should take note; once the Scottish teams are out of Europe I will be filing an FOI request asking how much has been spent in total covering Scottish teams abroad in Europe by BBC Scotland since Europa league stages commenced nail the end of that stage. If Rangers get further than Celtic I will ask for the amount up to and including Rangers departure. If Celtic go further I will draw stumps at the final point when both were still in the competition. Expenses, non-salaried staff and salaried staff payments, operational costs. If they can’t answer it will be damning on their accounting procedures and their trustworthiness to manage spend and achieve value,  if they can answer it will be damning because we will know where all the money went and at that point I would hope that statements from a selection of disadvantaged Rangers fans who can only access BBC for sports coverage can be collated by someone. We will know then in measurable financial terms how some fans are being impacted and also what the BBC are spending to pursue this agenda of disenfranchisement of licence paying Rangers fans who are dependent on responsible and reasonable coverage of their team.

I know I will get accused by some of being too reasonable but their actions also impact on opposing teams fans to. For example, Hearts have a sizeable fan base that were also denied any coverage of their team's trip to Ibrox for the match of the weekend in Scotland.

Why is the mhanks used as a barometer for all thing Rangers,it seems to me that they are being over respected,so IMO posters on here are blinkered.

Hardly blinkered. Like it or not they are a barometer for our immediate ambitions. They are the current champions and we haven't beat them in years therefore if we want to win the league it's pretty nailed on that we have to perform better against them.

Can be explosive, determined, skilful, frustrating and enraging.  Sometimes all in the same move.

I think some will never take to him, especially with the chances he’s missed against Celtic, but I’m glad we signed him.

If he can sink a few goals against them this season and that will help his confidence

He is performing well and improving which is the most important thing.

I agree. I'm still not 100% sure if he will be the guy to fire us to the title but only time will tell. I still think we are too light up front. Alfredo has great qualities (as well as flaws) and scoring goals in big games can only help his confidence and development.

  7. I see our victory over league leaders Hearts was the 14th story on the BBC Scottish football page today. It was superseded by stories about Derek McInnes reading kids books and the departure of the Dumbarton manager. The first article about our game focuses on a video of a Hearts player performing a nutmeg

Perhaps but definitely moved away from the coal face.

With English also 'off sick' and changing his Twitter handle recently, there's been a wee changing of the guard.  Only time will tell if the production generals are also replaced as that's where the real issues lie but it is an interesting week.

Interesting indeed. We will monitor this situation closely...?

The first half was excellent to watch.  For once we finished off our chances.

I never thought Hearts were out of it until the red card.  After that the match was poor.  The team was not tired though.  We just stopped concentrating.

Not to worry though because we got the win.  If our season ends well then we will look back at this as a key victory.

It could have been 10-4 today. A very open game indeed

How many times in Scottish football history have players gone for 8 figure sums? It's not long ago everyone was saying he's pish! He has a good few games and he's  world beater, then some bad ones and  gets widely condemned.

I think we'd be doing well to get about £5m for him just now. Nobody is going to spend double that at this stage.

I agree to a certain extent but the market in England is crazy (Armstrong went to Southampton for 7/8 million for example). With the money sloshing around the top 2 leagues in England it's a sellers market, we have to maximise the value of our assets (if we are going to sell)
