A rumour going about Ravel Morrison, not sure if there is any truth in it, he has added a few of our players and the gaffer on one of his social media accounts and he is out of contract in 6 months

Talented lad but there is a reason he hasn't featured in many games and has been loaned out year after year. His attitude has let him down throughout the years and it would take a miracle to get a tune out of him IMO.

Not one mention of Celtic's violent moments. Not one word that Rangers got a 6000 pound fine for speaking out and it looks like Celtic are getting Hee Haw. We also need well balanced reporting Chris and you certainly don't supply that. Start with a media clear out and the media putting referee's under almost unworkable pressure. I hope you are out of work soon.

At the risk at being rather called foolish but there is something I don't quite get about this whole thing. I keep seeing the Rangers comments regarding Collum being lumped into the same conversation as the Celtic/Beaton fiasco as if they are directly comparable. Rangers were upset about the Collum situation due to the fact that the ref sent the player off despite admitting to not seeing the actual non-descript incident. I think all fans of any team would be equally perplexed by this decision and would be wondering why this has happened. Ok we could have handled this better tbh and probably made a less volatile post match statement but I think most people watching the game would sympathise with our concern with the red card.

On the other hand, Celtic seem upset that a Rangers player was not punished for minor skirmishes which was part and parcel of a game littered with such incidents relating to both teams (it was a derby game after all). The ref has subsequently said that all incidents were viewed and not worthy of further action. Therefore what is the issue here? If the mhanks are upset that the ref didn't take action over various incidents and are generally upset about his overall performance, surely to back up their case it would only be fair to highlight all the incidents that happened in the game for both sides? Are they suggesting that the ref was biased against them? Why are these incidents being compared?

Alfredo Morelos has been league’s best striker ‘by country mile’ and is targeted by every team, insists Steven Gerrard

Morelos hooked up with his Gers team-mates in Tenerife yesterday after an extended break given to him by Gerrard

STEVEN GERRARD backed Alfredo Morelos last night — insisting he’s targeted by every team in the league.

Celtic have declared all-out war on the SFA — complaining that referee John Beaton failed to discipline the Colombian for incidents in their defeat at Ibrox last month.

But Rangers boss Gerrard mounted a strong defence of the player he rates as the best striker in Scotland by some distance.

Morelos hooked up with his team-mates yesterday after an extended break given to him by Gerrard.

And last night the Gers gaffer insisted: “Everyone singles out Alfredo — he’s a target for everyone.

“But we see it as a compliment because he’s a terrific player.

“In the first half of the season he scored 20 goals.

“He’s been the best striker in the league by a country mile so he should see his treatment as a compliment — I would if I was him.

“I can assure everyone that we are working with Alfredo and he’s certainly doing his best to try and improve his discipline on the pitch.

“He is very young, he is a target.

“He gets kicked from pillar to post in the majority of games.

“Teams set out to try and stop him and the only way they can stop him is to be physical with him.

“But we get on with it, he gets on with it.

“He handles it, in the main, very well.

“Of course he’s made a couple of mistakes along the way but doesn’t everyone at his age?”

If Stevie G didn't know what we are up against up here, he does now. Hopefully Celtic keep ramping this up as they really are making fools of themselves.

Morelos knew what he was doing both times.

The one on brown would be a soft yellow. The one on ralston is a yellow.

Beaton lets all sorts go for all teams and thats what makes him the best ref we have. Games are better under him.

The press and celtc are embarasing themselves now.

Only real mistake beaton made was not giving us a pen. Even that was an understandable miss.

Agree. I thought Beaton handled the game well. He wasn't over fussy and let the game flow IMO

I know this is a little off topic.... but Celtic have made 3 signings as well and, to be quite honest, none of them bother me.

Rangers needed more firepower up front and increased creativity.  Defoe should definitely offer the former and Davis should offer the latter.  We also have secured 2 very decent young players for next season too (good to see us looking to the future).

Whilst across the city they have added two strikers (Bayo and Weah) and a winger (Burke).  With Burke I don't see how they need him - they already have decent wingers.  And with both Bayo & Weah they will be vying to replace the 9 million pound man, Odouard.  Bringing in new guys may have strengthened them squad wise but I am not convinced that they have strengthened their starting XI.  I think their issues are greater in both defence and midfield.  Boyata (CB) is pish, Lustig & Ralston (RB) are pish, and then in midfield they have Ntcham who seems to have downed tools and Brown who is visibly slowing down.

Thus far, and admittedly it is early in the window, we look to have strengthened our starting XI and improved in the areas that we all felt needed strengthening - whereas Celtic don't, to me at least, seem to have strengthened their starting XI or in areas that they really needed the strengthening.

Agree 100%. The Burke one is the strangest IMO. Let's be honest, Burke has flattered to deceive for the last 2 years and they've added him to the most functional part of their team. Is he going to play ahead of Forest? Doubt it.

    https://stv.tv/sport/football/1434413-dundee-recall-kamara-as-club-look-to-do-deal-with-rangers/

Glen Kamara has been recalled from international duty as Dundee aim to reach a deal with Rangers over the transfer of the player during this window.

The Finland international has signed a pre-contract with the Ibrox side and is due to join the club in the summer on a four year contract. But STV understands talks have taken place between the Dark and Light Blues over a potential deal this month.

Kamara was with the Finland squad in Qatar for a friendly against Sweden, but we understand the player is heading back to Scotland to hold talks with Dundee.

Finland boss Markku Kanerva confirmed that Dundee had recalled the midfielder and were permitted to do so because the match was not on FIFA's international calendar.

"They have the right to do so because it's not a so-called International Game Day," he said. "I guess the issue is related to Glen's fresh move."

Kamara came through the ranks at Arsenal before joining Dundee in 2017.

I noticed he wasn't in the Finland squad for their game with Sweden. Interesting...

    Reporting Scotland.

It's Monday evening on the 7th January, 2019.

BBC Scotland have sent their Sports team to Dubai. Ra Sellik are having their winter training camp in the Gulf state. Hibs are there too. We are treated to an interview with Scotland's most expensive transferred footballer, Oliver Burke. Twice, he has been transferred for in excess of £15 million in the last two years. Oliver joins a long list of footballers who after joining the east end club, provide an immediate interview, telling of spending their childhood running around in the grey'n'green hooped jersey. It's fortunate for the English accented lad, that he does not come from Eastern Europe, South America, Central America, Asia, ........... etc; because then he would have to tell of tuning into the world service to hear live commentary on Sellik Euro games.

Another hero at PQ is of course, Neil Lennon. Hibs are winter breaking in Dubai also. Neil indulges in a bit of empathy, claiming threats are dragging the Scottish game into the gutter. Neil has been the victim of threats and it's vile. Criticism of Referees is okay, they make mistakes, but threats are crossing the line. Jane Lewis is conducting the interview, Tom, Chris, Big Dick, ..... etc have all over played their hands on Alfredo Morelos, Thus, it was Jane who informed us that John Beaton is centre of attention, receiving a police escort at Somerset Park on Saturday. Then, BBC Scotland showed those three incidents again, in slow motion. The old firm game was nine days past.

Tomorrow, Beeb Scotland will be in Columbia, interviewing members of the IRA training FARC guerrillas. They will tell the audience that even in the tropical forests, Colombians are booing Morelos. There will be another opportunity to see all three incidents again.

I'm still surprised that Celtic training in Dubai has not got their holier than thou fanbase into a frenzy. After all,  the Gulf State has a pretty pretty shocking track record with migrant labour and environmental/ecological issues. That's hardly ra sellik way is it?

Ibrox Noise spreading story that he has gone AWOL after his agent said one of his clients would be transferred. Is Ibrox Noise a usually accurate site or just another click bait site?

Would he not be joining them direct from South America?

What an utter twat. Did Celtic not gub Killie by 5 on the same day? Did they lie down?

I actually had the "pleasure" of meeting him in a bar back in the day. He wasn't at all like he is on TV. He was worse. He was rude and arrogant as hell and ended nearly coming to blows with a mate of mine, who was a Celtic fan. He is a sign of the times I suppose.

Are you going to get a better idea of that with him playing against Hibs reserves or against Hibs? He was playing against the same opponents Morelos plays against and doing really well. It’s madness as far as I’m concerned if it’s anything to do with deciding whether to offer him a new deal, he was in the perfect place for us to assess that.

I hope this is isn't a sign that Alfie might be off?

On a side note, Mark Allen is on Talk Sport this morning. Not sure if it something specific or it's just a general chat about the transfer business. Jim White also shouting about an exclusive chat he had with Dave King over the weekend.

I don't think they've been "done" for several days. There is that usual tabloid tripe that gets bandied about, as you know, but nothing's been completed.

Defoe was expected to take his medical over the weekend, and join up before the Tenerife trip.

The Davis stuff is just rumour, I think? Southampton announced they'd let him go, and I think we're interested, but that's it. Hopefully, we're in talks.

The USA guys seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. But again, all we know is that they had a trial, or were on trial.

Defoe has passed his medical in Manchester and will join the squad in Spain on Monday. I presume they will wait to do an official press release with Defoe with Stevie G on Monday as opposed to just releasing a pic today.  Stevie G is marketing gold for us therefore they will want maximise this announcement IMO.
