I said before this game that I feel our time has come, at last. I'm even more confident of it now, we consistently outplay them, we're a better team, we're now in the driving seat.

Next league match without Alfie home to St Mirren, Defoe should comfortably handle that. Does anybody know what the game in hand is?

I think it's home V Ross County? More importantly is why we are playing catch up? Why didn't we play our game the same night the Tims were at Tynecastle?

One thing that strikes me about the two teams is that SG&Co have the tactical know-how advantage over their coaching team.

    Big advantage

I agree but what seems more obvious is that they are learning from their mistakes. There have been bumps along the way but the players are buying into what we are trying to do and adapting better to what's required (as a Rangers player)

  3. Ecstatic with the win and even more ecstatic that this team have put two great back to back performances against them. They would have had doubts after the League Cup final but silverware glossed over what happened in that game. Now those doubts are cemented after that game. I keep hearing how they were "poor" in these games but their performances were poor because we dominated both games. Well done Rangers! Keep believing!

Don't care who scores but we'll certainly need to if we're to get a positive result.  No goals in the last two Old Firm games is a concern but I'm confident we'll create chances and take at least one today.

I think it's due to the fact that we had so many corners in the League Cup final and didn't utilise them. I think Katic is better at attacking corners but as you say, it doesn't matter who scores.

He does his best work in and around the box on tighter pitches against defensive opposition but might have still been a decent option today depending on how the game plays out.

After all the chat about our main striker Alfie, I have a strange feeling that a defender will score our first goal today and Alfie will chip in with another.

Hats off to Klopp, who is finally becoming a serial winner after years of being a popular nearly man at Elite level.

Was he though? Ok he has lost some one off cup finals but he did win 2 league titles with Dortmund in a league where no team has got close to Bayern in years. League wins say more about a manager than cup games IMO

  7. As per every OF game (and all games tbh), midfield will be key. Does Davis return? Or do we keep with the Jack, Kamara, Arfield, Aribo, Kent set up?

I think there are pros and cons with regards to Davis returning. The pros for me is that he is cool head with a shed load of experience who keeps the ball well. The cons for me would be Davis, Jack and Kamara playing together is not positive enough for me. We need to go at them as their defence is very weak IMO.

    Its a hard call tbh

Agree re. type of game but tend to think what actually happened was always on the cards whoever we played up front, ie. struggle to make clear cut chances against organised deep defence but over time we wear them down and eventually score. Having Morelos on the bench gave us an excellent option but IMO the goal itself was more about Jack and Aribo teeing up a relatively straightforward chance that you´d expect either AM or JD to tuck away.

The game on Sunday is a very different proposition and Alfredo will start, hopefully after a re-charging of the batteries.

Much of the focus will be on the Columbian but we´ll need all players to step-up. Ryan Kent being one who needs to lift his quality level and the defence maintain concentration.

Kent and Aribo could be key to Alfies success tomorrow IMO
