  1. I know it's not a fashionable opinion or the answer to our overall issues but IMO if you had that lad Murray up top and played him in a high number of SPL games, he would score a lot of goals for us. He always a pain in the ass when he plays against us. To go further, IMO he would score more than Danilo based on the same amount of games played. And he wouldn't cost 6 million.
  2. This. They have built a castle of entitlement on a foundation of sand.
  3. Can someone please clarify an offside question. For their first goal yesterday, Maeda is about a yard offside when the ball is shuffled to their right side. The next phase sees the ball lobbed into the back post for him to head home. When are phases active/inactive? Should this not be called back as he goes on to effect the next phase ie. The goal.
  4. Just went online to see the score. I am genuinely embarrassed to admit it but I feel so detached from our team at the moment. I haven't watched or listened to our last 5/6 games and apart from a snippet on the news I haven't even seen any of the goals (for and against). After nearly 40 odd years of obsessively following games in the flesh or on TV/radio, I'm done.
  5. Jesus wept. Just checked my phone for the first time today and this news is what greets me. Utterly depressing. Billy f*cking Dodds? I'd rather Clement had stayed.
  6. As much as this had to happen, I take no pleasure in any Rangers manager getting sacked. In fact, I would go as far to say that it makes me pretty sad to be honest. I really liked Clement. He had a certain charm and he seemed like a nice guy but it wasn't to be. Good luck Phil.
  7. 5th in a 10 team league. And only 5th thanks to a superior goal difference to 6th place Dundee.
  8. How did it get to this?
  9. Keep the tie alive after the 1st leg and who knows what could happen.
  10. Tough tie on arguably the tougher side of the draw. Are we home or away first?
  11. Apologies for jumping ahead but if this all goes through (as intimated), I do wonder what this will mean in terms of stadium upgrades, kit deals and sponsorship. Leeds have benefitted greatly from very lucrative deals with Adidas and Red Bull. There are also plans to upgrade and expand their Elland Road stadium. Could we see Ibrox naming rights come into play? Our kit deal is also up for grabs. Interesting times ahead indeed.
  12. I watched the CL game versus Galatasarey (Ibrox game) in a social club above a Turkish restaurant in New York City. Went to the Big Apple Bears pub initially but the satellite was on the fritz so everybody piled over to this place near Times Sq. Place was rammed with Turkish fans and Bears. Good lively atmosphere but I'm glad it ended 0-0 😧
  13. Apologies Compo but I disagree. This isn't the 90s. Most of the players we have shifted recently have been British players who were far from up for the battle. Matondo, Davies, Dowelled, Wright et all. Celtic have built their success on a team littered with foreigners and a couple of Scots. It can be done.
  14. Good luck today Rangers. I fear we may need it.
  15. Apologies if this has been mentioned on this thread already...(I haven't read all 20 pages...) but every time we have more time on the training pitch, it translates into an awful performance. Clement has made much of the constant midweek/weekend schedule and on several occasions when we have had time (eg. International breaks) we are generally rotten. Yesterday was a new low. In more ways than one.
  16. Well done Rangers. Considering the makeshift back line, I'm surprised we won. Not the best performance but we got there!! Interesting to note that from the other 7 teams in the top 8, we faced 4 of them in our round of fixtures.
  17. I get that but money aside, they are weaker without him IMO.
  18. My big take away from that page linked above is...Celtic are selling Kyogo for 10 million? Are they mad? They don't need the money.
  19. I really should know better. I was attempting to gauge the reaction to a Rangers defeat by sampling some online contributions last night and I'm staggered that anyone can come away from the game feeling angry. Frustrated...yes. Disappointed...yes. We are nowhere near being able to lose 9/10 first team players and rock up to Man Utd and expect to win. I get that we can be upset with some individual errors but the manager played the team 99% of fans would have picked. And please spare me the Dessers should have started in a front 2 hindsight nonsense. No-one was calling for that prior to kick off.
  20. I'm gutted but not devastated. Playing Man Utd with a full squad would have been hard enough but playing them without 7 potential starters was a very tall order. 7 became 10 players missing in the second half which made it impossible. Our goalie gifting them the first goal didn't help either. At least we gave it a go and some young players got decent experience. Hopefully the injuries are not long term.
  21. So no Sterling, no Balogun, no Souttar, no Kasa, no Diomande, no Cortez, no Barron, no Cerny, no Danilo, no Hagi... Tav at CB. Yilmaz at RB. At least the young players are getting minutes...
  22. As much as Diamonde has been inconsistent in some domestic games, IMO the difference he makes compared to Barron is evident tonight.
  23. Just a wee Europa League side note...Steaua Bucharest are 7th in the table. Amazing to think we gubbed them 4-0
