Our game was much more even. Aberdeen should have been battered today.
-
Celtic hadn't scored yet.
-
104 minutes, eh? Gave them every chance.

I'd love to see a back-three, but I'd prefer a situational back-three. Nana in for Tavernier at RB. Nana would stay back to make a back-three with Jefte pushing forward on the left. This lets us use a proper winger wide right while also letting us revert to a back-four in defence. The 4-4-2 is best for pressing, too, which is more tricky to switch to if we start with a proper back-three.

My two Everton players returning, though. 'Mon the Toffees.

Saka not in squad. I had an easy Saka to Palmer transfer, too, but decided against it. F*ck...

I've given Goal Involvements (goals and assists) per 90 above, which is an accurate reflection of their output. That was all I was comparing, despite others putting words in my mouth. Stats are pretty accurate; they measure very specific metrics. I think the issues come when people can't reconcile the stats with what they think they see - or what they like - or they overlook the fact that subjective judgements are made on a whole series of different things, which is not what stats are measuring. As to your favourite player, that's a different argument. I love players like Ronaldinho and Zidane, but their stats are not great. It's just a fact. It doesn't mean they don't put a smile on my face watching them.

Neither do I.
-
I don't think anyone is suggesting it'll happen.
-
It was in your reply to me.
-
Who? Everyone on here is quite critical of the team. (Are you trying to put made up arguments in my mouth?)
-
I'm not, and haven't been, challenging your opinion that Kent was a good player. You're entitled to it. I've only said his return was poor, which was factual. You've then went off on different tangents trying to argue against a fact. I don't see the point of this.
-
You're literally arguing with yourself. I've only stated that Kent's return is very poor. It's a fact. I've not claimed Matondo is a better player - that's you moving the goalposts - only that his goal involvement per 90 is better. It's a fact. For me, goal involvement is a key metric; It's their job. If it was just winners medals then Scott Wright is better than all the players mentioned above (3 vs Kent's 2). Kent was a good servent, but your disillusionment with our current predicament is clouding your judgement (my opinion): his end product was awful (fact).
-
You're moving the goalposts. I've not claimed he's a better or worse player - you were doing that and claiming it as fact. I've only stated that his return is very poor - and then compared it to the current players which suggests they are slightly better, in terms of Goal Involvements. You're entitled to your opinion; just don't claim it as fact.
-
You're claiming as fact a subjective opinion. The raw stats show that Matondo has a better goal involvement than Kent. You can opine that Kent has contributed more, but you cannot claim it as fact.
-
It's not a matter of opinion; it's a fact: Kent's goal involvement return is rather poor. We should have won the league last season with three of those four, so it's not outwith the realms of possibility. We reached a EL final with Kirk Broadfoot. Matondo could terrorise Dortmund - he can beat a man like Kent. (I feel like Cortes could, but then again, I've not seen him do it enough. I also get the sense he doesn't like to beat his man like he should.) I'm not making any judgements - a lot of it is subjective - all I'm saying is that Kent's return is rather poor, which is fact.

His penultimate season with us was even worse. His Goals per 90 is 0.15 over 218 games. That's Cortes' numbers after 7 (not quite full) games. Kent's just not very good; he never has been. He can beat a man but has no end product.

Cerny has scored the same amount of goals that Kent scored in his final season with us, in 32 fewer games. And Cerny hasn't been great. #JustSaying
